Small correction Nilgiri is in Tamil Nadu, And Baba Buddan brought the coffee beans to Karnataka in the Chikamangalur district (you find the largest coffee estate there along with nice home stays and coffee cafes) and there is a peak known as Baba Buddangiri it is a tourist spot as well as holy shrine now.
Sir, Nilgiri hills range is spread throughout three states, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka (not only in Tamil Nadu, but in all three states)....

True...Bababudangiri is in Karnataka..in fact Chikmagalur Coorg and Hassan district possibly produces 95% of India's total production. All of them are in Karnataka

LOVE your work...for a long time now...I do believe Indian Coffee House has a colossal history and nostalgia wrapped around it, but I personally don't count it in on the list of "Best Cafes" due to it's drastic decrease in food quality and hygiene. Your selection of Coffee o Kobita was a delight to me since, I've been a regular to that place for 3 years now...It's really a comfy and cozy adda-joint.

Highly suggest baker's nest. One of the best cafes around salt lake which will not get you a hole in your pocket. Not a very sophisticated place but the food is extraordinary.

The Baba Budan reference was really interesting. It explains why Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka is so famous for its coffee estates. There's a shrine dedicated to him there on a hill named Baba Budan Giri.

Foodka, I would love to see you visit The Platform Cafe. It's newly opened in the heart of North Kol, Beadon Street. Though a thriving small buisness, offering a humble amount of space, the cafe holds up art and delicious foods ranging from oriental to continental. My visits there have been nothing but peaceful and serene. It's a new take on the North Kol Cafe Culture without disrupting the authenticity and heritage of it's part.
