I visited Galawat after watching this episode of Foodka to have lunch on Independence Day as I am a huge fan of Lucknow Cuisines. I want to share few observations.... Although food taste was good but taste of Lucknow Biriyani was about 60% as Lucknow style biriyani is bit more "Tikha" ....The mutton pieces in biriyani are small and less in quantity (02 Pieces) as in Lucknow they provide 04 pieces of Mutton in full plate.....and lastly quantity of Rice in Biriyani and Side Dishes compared to price is much less .....like to complement on the Galauti Kebab and Paratha...these ones taste better than those I ate in Lucknow

এতোদিন ফুডকা কে এড়িয়ে ছিলাম। কত আর দেখবো....কি আর দেখবো, কিন্ত্ত কি কুক্ষনে একবার পুরী সিরিজ গলে ঢুকে পড়েছি এখন পুরোনো এপিসোড গুলোয় এসে জামা জুতো যেনো হারিয়ে গেছে...পুরো বিহ্বল!!!

Being a gastronome, I follow many food bloggers. I love to acquire the best knowledge of food served across the state and country, even sometimes internationally. Though, "Foodka" is one of my favourites yet I would like to declare that I have not seen any "Biriyani Episode" like this on You Tube. Not even on "Foodka". It is not just an episode, it is the flavours that is coming out in your mouth when you watch it. It is the cognizance of the World of Biriyani. Other food bloggers must watch this episode and try learn how food blogging should be done with proper education and guidance.

Btw the gentleman of this white Biriyani place forgot to mention, or maybe is unaware , that tajines actually are used for a special kind of cooking method, hence its unique shape.
It's not for only keeping food warm.
Meat, vegetables and even fish are kept within, together with local spices, onion, ginger, mostly whole garlc, and placed on fire.
No water is added. The water from the ingredients transform s into steam, rises up, to the top and slides down it's sliding sides, and the repeated process cooks the food.
People then sit around the pot, and eat together, helping themselves to desired individual servings...
Chickpeas are very often a much used ingredient in tajine cooking..

খুব ভালো পর্ব। তেরঙ্গা 'বিরিয়ানি' ঠিক না বলা গেলেও, মাংস, ডিম ও ভাত মিশিয়ে এই তিন রঙের এক প্রকার সমষ্টি পাওয়া যায় মুম্বাইয়ের crawford মার্কেট এলাকায় রেডিও রেস্টুরেন্টে। পদটির নামও খাসা - ইন্ডিয়া-পাকিস্তান। আর ফুডকা যেমন বললেন কর্ণাটকের বিরিয়ানিতে জীরা সাম্বাগা বা জীরাগা সাম্বা চালের ব্যবহার, ওই একই চালের ব্যবহার তামিল নাড়ুর বিরিয়ানিতে হয়। এখানে সীরাগা সাম্বা চাল বলা হয়। বেগুনের সালনের ব্যবহারও দক্ষিণ ভারতের বিরিয়ানিতে প্রচলিত।

Very good blog. Great to see you enjoying Biryani’s other than the hyped Kolkata biryani. Chicken tagine that I tasted both in Morocco and Spain is awesome. The white biryani is quite similar to Sufiana Biryani. If I had to nitpick I would say you missed the blue colour

I'm a fan of Donne Biryani, I visited Bengaluru in 2020 and had it as my first meal at my sister's home. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 It was unexpectedly delicious and the taste is still stuck to my memory.

Happy Independence Day in advance. Nice episode, good content. Few things I would like to share. I have experienced Lucknow biriyani several times that also in Lucknow. I can't comment on the taste of Galawat biriyani in Kolkata but by seeing the texture of the biriyani I can tell that they need to work on it much more. It's seems it has the touch of Kolkata biriyani, also the whole spices are not seen that much in the biriyani.
South Indian biriyani is one the best..be it Karnataka, many varieties in Kerala, n superb biriyani of Tamilnadu..one must try!i personly liked Kerala style!
