    I think my son kept switching between posterior and anterior position. Felt his feet in the ribs while sitting in a car, and other times, kicks were outwards. He was head down the entire time.

    Should probably cover the other head down positions. LOP, LOA, LOT, ROP, ROA, ROT... also very important. There's complete OA, and OP. An RO position is usually more difficult as well, due to how the uterus is shaped. It's completely symmetrical. The right side is steeper, making it harder for baby to tuck their chin as well. LO positions are a bit easier and rotate much better.

    such an interesting video! baby heartbeat is strongest on the lower left (she is head down) and I always feel my right side getting super hard so now that explains to be her legs! One time the ob did say he felt her butt really high near by ribs so I guess shes still moving around at times. Thank you! So informative

    My baby is transverse at 30 weeks... Kinda wish you spoke about that as well 😅

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Pƙed 2 lety +9

      Transverse is similar to breech in how it's treated--AND 30 weeks is pretty early to be concerned or trying to change baby's position at all! I would encourage you not to be concerned until later in the pregnancy--around 35-37 weeks is usually when babies move into the head down position for good!

    • @chiannexiong
      @chiannexiong Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Interesting, Spinning babies suggests that transverse positioning should be addressed at 29-31 weeks. They want to see baby either breech or head down by then. Head down by 35ish weeks.

      @heather7862 Pƙed 2 lety +1

      @@chiannexiong my second baby went transverse on me at 35 ish weeks. Luckily he moved head down as I got closer to my due date. I knew instantly that he was transverse too, even before OB confirmed. I could feel it and it was honestly painful. My belly was distorted and funny looking. The only thing that relieved the discomfort was being on my hands and knees, rocking back and forth.

    • @elfo8elfo
      @elfo8elfo Pƙed 10 měsĂci +7

      Yeah I agree, if you have to go on what the doctor or midwife said it kind of defeats the purpose, since the idea of this mapping process to figure out where the baby is without needing to go to the doctor... If you just went and they told you where it is then you don't need to do any mapping..

    Can hiccups determine the position of your baby ?

    • @mamanatural
      @mamanatural  Pƙed 2 lety +5

      They can! Usually hiccups are felt near where the baby’s head and back are located.

    I think this might be the position my baby is in right now. I’ve been feeling that hard spot right around where you said and I can’t tell if it’s her back or head. I really hope it’s the back, because I don’t want another cesarean due to a breech a baby. Last time I felt the hard spot at the very top middle of my belly. I’m almost 35 weeks now so I’m starting to get concerned about her position since I also have big babies. 9lbs and 8.14lbs. Will she even have enough room to turn if I wait too long to encourage flipping.

    • @mamanatural

      If you feel the smooth long part of your babes back perpendicular to your waist, your babe is likely transverse!
