True
That's true

I will summarise JDCR's thoughts in this video into one line:
Keyboard is OP.
He says that 30 seconds in lol, I considered leaving it there
Yeah then he proceeds to play with Kazuya, fail wavedash and ewgf, then switch to Kazumi.. watch the full video.
Ghakimx it’s not tho for mishimas it’s super hard i been using mixbox for a good year and my 2 months on stick previous i’m so much better
using pad i been doing wavu and ewgfs for ever but it’s a lot on my wrist tendon playing mishimas
the mix box is also uncomfortable after a while
ff ewgfs are sure hard to get 5 also just not consistent entough
and the d to df part is so touchy pewgf version and otgf vey easy hug you can’t do them out the wave also b>f stuff is tough in combos like kazumi
the Korean/English subtitle option select is the best secret discord tech since backdash cancel
I don't see it. I only see the auto generated CC translation
The subtitles are already in the video, not added through youtube captions.

For keyboard, you can make mistake when doing qc or hc . Usually when hcf without practice , it becomes b, db , df , f. In SF, this is considered half circle but in tekken, you need b, d, and f to make it half circle. For qcf , you need d, df , f. But your input without practice can be d , df only which wont be considered qcf ( akuma , some char can use d, df ). Stick will be much consistent because its a motion on the stick.
I am a keyboard user, I always do the mistakes of hcf and qcf that u said
how to make it easier?
Just set movement inputs to LS and hcfs will be way easier. No more b,db, n, df, f
Owh THANK YOU SO MUCH JDCR you dont know how much it means for us underrated keyboard users
Otherwise keyboard warriors are always looking for converters to participate in tourneys
@@PEandCE Some people I know just went out and bought hitboxes instead lmao
Already have a keyboard why not use it
@@cloudstrife3083 I’m not sure but it could be because keyboard doesn’t work natively with Tekken on console.
@G-mannen Already have a pc why not use it?
easiest way to use the keyboard in tekken is to mimic the hitbox cross-up. wasd for the dpad , then I use the number pad 7890 for the left, down, right, up of the left analog stick respectively, then 4 for LP, 5 for RP, 1 for LK, 2, for RK.
JDCR writing his autobiography mid-match
if you set extra key settings for left and right stick with your right hand side, (this is officially provided in the settings) you can do a keyboard back dash with two hands (such as double tapping u while pressing a or tapping i while d vice versa) which makes your left hand lot less tired.
Yes but it's useless since you can't attack and your reaction time to go back to the attack buttons would decrease
@@JazzBoiiFGC It isn't useless. You can bind right and left actions on the right side and press f+2 with only your right hand, like on this video:
czcams.com/video/0k4clbXEHdM/video.html
This is really good because it's easier to press 2 buttons on the same frame with 2 fingers on one hand, than with 2 fingers on different hands.
To backdash on keyboard you can hold the back button and press the down key followed by the forward key (while still holding the back key .. basically never letting go of the back key until you don't want to backdash )
Jairaj Singh seriously ?? That’s weird !
It's better to just use normal method - b,n,b,d/b,b,n,b,etc. Less buttons to press, less buttons to release in total and you don't need to confuse yourself with different inputs after you cancel things from sidestep, crouch, etc. With the SOCD method you described, inputs will be different and more complicated.
❤️❤️❤️
You should try AK on keyboard and do giant swing on both player sides
keyboard can also force sitting character to pose neutral by pressing A and D at the same time while pressing S, which allows character to trigger while-standing moves instantly. this is quite useful for characters such as raven. dont forget to check whether your keyboard supports multi pressing. (some keyboards dont allow to press more than 3 keys at the same time)
Do I have to release the S input when pressing A and D?
@@JazzBoiiFGC not necessarily, but if you dont release S, you will go back to sitting pose immediately
@@JiwanChung if you press A+S+D, for left+down+right, Tekken will make it neutral and your character will stand up. So if you don't release S while pressing A+D, you will not go back to sitting pose, your character will stand up.
@@KulaGGin yeah ur right it will make you stand up and THEN make you go back to sitting (since you are keep pressing down, so going to sitting pose eventually is obvious - probably word "immediately" made you confusing)
@@JiwanChung Oh, you mean if you release A and D and continue to hold S pressed. Then sure, you go back to sitting.
you can wavedash backwards on keyboard and thats does kbd but only works for non backsway characters
He’s gonna show up to evo with a keyboard next year
Yeah the keyboard is kinda op and very comfy altho i think it still depends on the keyboard u are using cuz when i do the wall combo on asuka specifically the last part (ff2 2, 1) u can only hold it for so long that it turns into a f2 launcher so either im just dumb (cuz im new and very late into playing T7...) or the keyboard im using is experiencing some ghosting issues or its just not really built for fighting games at all that holding forward only has like few miliseconds until it gets unrecognized and resets into a normal forward input
so on keyboard, you have to press bb, f, d, bb? you will block when inputting forward?
did he say electrics are hard on keyboard?
The only thing I can't do with KB is those Half-Circle or any DB to DF transitions.
Lol practise with street fighter. There you have the same qc, hc, fc, and dc, which is a good practice for all kinds of directional base commands, try KOF for f,b, hcf, b, hcf etc

You need to set your movement keys to the left stick instead of the d pad. Otherwise the tekken socd won't work properly. You will also need to set other keys to the death pad to move around in menus
God dame i know its late but this is so true. I tried it out and the movements are definately smoother. Thanks a lot

My only problem when Im using a keyboard (which is the only thing I have) is that I almost break it from how hard I tap to do it
Here's how I backdash cancel on a keyboard: A A (keep it HELD), press S and D after each other. The D press comes fast after S, and there is a slight delay after D. This works because opposite directions cancel each other out when pressed at the same time.
In my experience keyboard fits Tekken like a glove, definitely a very beginner friendly device choice. However, doing half circles consistently can be a challenge, but it gets very manageable when you have labbed it enough.
it comes with its pros and cons
pro is accuracy, up down left right are there and distinct
downside is attacks with diagonals are a bit awkward sometimes, for example if I wanted db4 or something
at least in my experience some moves with diagonal inputs come out a bit shaky, not all but some
@@abirneji Personally I don't have any problems with diagonals. However I forgot to mention, as stated in the video, P2 side wave dashing can be a lot of pain.
My dumdum brain is confused in the S D part, can you expound it pls xd.
@@barrigahoreb83 S is down, D is forward. You keep pressing these after each other while A which is back is held. Your character shouldn't be crouching in the sequence, so you the D press comes really fast after the S press, but not too fast. There is certain timing to it, you'll have to figure it out.
@@thatonequote I have problems doing pewgf on keyboard as i can't seem to get the df input after forward when i press S and D instead i get an qcf everytime. Can u tell if it is a issue with membrane keyboards or same for the mechanical ones if u have one? The problem persists in backdashing too where i get qcb instead of db input.
The moment you see a guy do full circle motions perfectly on a keyboard is where you should start to be afraid.
Still trying to hit the 5th Gigaton Punch. Best I could do is 2-3 at this moment.

I play on keyboard on PC and PS4. Problem is PS4 doesn't support keyboard so you need to buy an adapter like xim apex :(
Edit: and PS4 doesn't support the backdash trick since they don't expect you to be able to press f and b at the same time.
Or you can get this:
czcams.com/video/gDYz8HP41W0/video.html
all rtight that boosted my morale now that you're playing the keyboard.hahahaha
You will need a good keyboard if you're gona try it , a cheap keyboard cannot take more than 2 inputs at a time
@@haexrow05 yep a keyboard with anti ghosting..like a mechanical keyboard which i already have.
As a programmer of 20 years and stick user for 2 months, stick is much easier for me. Keyboard is good at doing the input once, but to repeat the same input in quick succession (for eg KBD) is more tiring
Do you prefer jlf or Korean
I think it depends on keyboard(?) to make some good execution, my laptop is having problem with inputting f to df (just frame sky rocket and blue uppercut) while my cheap computer keyboard can do it quite easy
Same man
this is can be just some keys problem, on my keyboard some combination of 3 keys pressed at the same time are not recognized while others are, search for the program aqua key test to check which combination of keys work out correctly
Laptop keyboards almost always have ghosting issues unless it was stated explicitly that it uses an anti ghosting keyboard.
Mechanical keyboard is way to go. Or hitbox
Yes, keyboards on laptops are super bad. They implement anti-ghosting with key jamming, so you can't press more than 1-2 buttons at the same time in many places.
Something important to note. Long sets + movement on keyboard = next level pain. Also I personally feel I mis input more on keyboard vs say a mix/hitbox stuff like, 3+4 and the 3 comes out millisecond before the 4 because of the longer press time.
I can play for hours and I don't have any issues, and "press time" varies
@@Tom3kkk Good for you? just saying its an issue for me. and all the people I talk to that play keyboard as well. Ofc it's not going to be an issue for every person.

Yes daddy keep up this content 😳👌
Not My Name 😩💦
I Wonder how JDCR can press simultaneouly while using keyboard. What keyboard is he using?
Typically, you want a keyboard with a thing called n-key rollover (NKRO). It basically means you can press multiple buttons and it all registers. There are some keyboards out there without this and it causes the problem you're probably thinking of.
Mine currently doesn't have NKRO, however it does have a thing called anti-ghosting. It means only a select few keys can be inputted simultaneously. However, the default attack buttons of UIJK doesn't work for me. So instead, I found out that my WASD and arrow keys can be inputted simultaneously, so I set my movement to WASD and my attacks to the arrow keys and it works like a charm.
If you want to test for yourself which buttons in your keyboard can be pressed simultaneously, I recommend visiting this site: drakeirving.github.io/MultiKeyDisplay/
JDCR should get a mixbox, keyboard keys for movement and arcade buttons. I have one and it is OP as fuck. I highly recommend people not learn stick, you can make a mixbox quite cheaply if you dont want to buy it.

Mixbox vs Hitbox?
I play on a Razer Tartarus V2^^ Much better than both of them!
I dislike arcade buttons. Good keyboard keys are much better imho.
I can really recommend it. Straight & compact key layout is great. I's also very small compared to a regular keyboard which makes it great for Tekken.
It's layout is for the left hand but you can easily place it diagonal and use the upper right keys for attacks with your right hand for ergonomic handling. The movement keys can be placed at the bottom, easy to reach with the left hand.
Play Hit Box!
keyboard playing is like hitbox playing
But the keyboard is better. On the keyboard you can have many more control layouts: WASD, ASD and ALT, ASD and Space, or any other combination of keys. That's on the left side for movement.
And on the right side many more different layouts as well: you can have 2 lines, 3 lines, 4 lines; 2 columns, 3 columns, 4 columns.
Here are just some layouts that I used in the past:

I play with arrow keys and ASDZXC for buttons. Probably leftover habit from playing all those SNES simulator on the PC from 20 years ago.
Other than habit wise, I am right handed and felt that the dominant hand should be handling the finer (like mouse in fps, and in fighters, the movements and commands)
I still use back back down back on keyboard to backdash. Holding back and tapping toward twice is an extra input and makes me mess up the timing
And can u do it consistently? I find it soooo hard to do
(Easy on P2 because you actually use index and middle finger, the strongest fingers, same reason why wavedashing from P2 sucks)
@@JazzBoiiFGC yea I do it do consistently from both sides. It's not one fluid input. I do my back -> back fast. Then I have a little delay and then down back into neutral very fast. Little delay again and then back into down back and repeat. The sound of the buttons should almost be like a train passing by haha.
@@JazzBoiiFGC I forgot to mention you only repeat the back -> down back -> neutral. You only need to primer the backdash with the double back on your first one.

Are Keyboards tournament legal?
There's no rules against them, but getting good adapters that don't have any input lag is super hard so most people just get hitboxes or something
Most people use a hitbox that have keyboard buttons input of the stick.
They are legal. Most keyboard work only on PC, but here's one that works on consoles:
czcams.com/video/gDYz8HP41W0/video.html
There are probably other models, too.
To do backdashes on a keyboard, you gotta hold back and then tap down and forward repeatedly (you can't roll, you have to tap). To do electrics it's a lot easier for me to have 2 sets of movement like a crossup. czcams.com/video/sbqMpM4FvMU/video.html

I never played it after that because I was so used to the stick on arcade cabinet but definitely if you get used to it it is very fun
I might just be dumb, but if you can play with a hitbox, then why shouldn't keyboard be great as well?
(Not talking about the video, just times when people say that pads/sticks are superior in every way)
Spacing of the keys and the keys are to small
Playing on a keyboard is easier, on a hitbox way easier
These people are in denial and/or don't know what they're talking about. Hitbox and keyboard are objectively better than sticks and pads because you have more fingers on more buttons at the same time, especially for movement.
Keyboard is objectively best, except that the keys might not be as ergonomic or responsive as a box designed for fighting games.
