Hi I'm a regular listener from tropical North Queensland Australia and I have been wondering if anyone cared for the environment in the Ukraine, I listened to the pome on this issue I'm pleased to hear that, it's bad enough to see the damage done around here after a tropical cyclone ,the living creatures do survive however the war time damage in Ukraine is unthinkable and the ongoing problem of mines for the next generation will be difficult for many 😢😢😢😮
One would think Zelensky killing all the strong, genetically desirable men over NATO expansion is more concerning than Ukraine climate change, no?

The victims are the innocent people, here, no matter what anyone thinks of the politicians. We do not suppose that the people in any position in the Ukraine Government have gone unscathed, physically, mentally, or both. At least they have tried to protect the population, even if things are amiss in various ways. Let's not blame the victims all the time for everything. so, of course, it is down to what the people want, not down to the ambitions of whosoever, and there are three running for office in Ukraine, one of whom would be a puppet for Russia, and the other two have been engaged in the war ongoing, with various differences between them. There are also a whole host of advisors taking decisions and advising officials. Mr Zelenskyy therefore has been a legitimately elected official with the mandate of the people, who wanted to fight,. I would therefore not put the blame for deaths in Ukraine solely at the door of Mr Zelenskyy. I do not know what the situation is now with the voting majority, these are the people who will know their leader and potential leaders better than any of us, but I wonder if anyone here has ever met Mr. Zelenskyy or any of his Government. I cannot explain here, but have had some knowledge on things, just to say. But whatever the situation, being British, it just is not cricket, so to speak, to kick a dog when it is down.
I don't usually cry listening to your wonderful Pod Cast, but the poems of the trees really got to me. How indeed will these trees get to testify to the horrors, make that War Crimes, they have seen. I think i may just hug a tree, but gently.

What's actually happening on the ground on the front lines?
The pod's apparent policy is to omit coverage of the actual fighting when all Ukrainian movement is retrograde.
Uh, look at any of the last 30 episodes for the answer. A daily ground update is utterly pointless, unless something major happened. Russia inches forward while losing massive amounts of armor.
Armor can be replaced.
Humans not so easily.
That's why one part loses one things and keeps moving forward and the other part loses humans and keep moving backwards.
They've been "losing massive amounts of armor," for over a year and half, but still are shoving Ukraine's $hit in, even with the West pouring in billions in money, weapons, training, and advisors.
This podcast ignores what’s really happening in the ground, and in doing so deludes the audience with its magical thinking.

Ecocide, huh. That may be a slippery slope when it comes to Earth's future power needs: building new hydroelectric dams, putting up new wind farms or solar farms--even new housing developments. The destruction of those habitats for human habitats and power needs to be squared.
Russia does not target civilians , unlike the Ukraine, which targets civilians in cities like Belgorod and Donetsk using amoung other munitions, cluster shells supplied by the Collective West.
The West and its lackeys have been targeting civilian populations since WW2. Just read about the bombing of Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, the bombing of North Korea and the bombing of the peasants of Vietnam by the US which killed 3 million people.

It's over a year ago now that the WHO published the findings of their investigation into the claims of genocide. They stated that there was no evidence that either genocide was underway or was being planned.
Around Ukrainian 10,000 civilians have died since Feb 2022.
Compare that to civilian deaths over in the desert since Oct 7.

Glide bombs against civilian targets is a likely sign of impending defeat... if a totalitarian regime can't win conventionally then try to terrorize the civilian population of the enemy. During the Blitz of 1940, Goering almost had the RAF on the ropes with attacks on fighter bases, radar towers, RAF production facilities and other fighter command infrastructure. Then Hitler became emotionally unhinged and redirected the Luftwaffe from military targets to innocent civilians in London. After that change, the RAF gained the upper hand in the Battle of Britain. As sad as this is to see, targeting civilians is a cowardly act of desperation.
Tell that to Bomber Command and the Eighth and Twentieth US Air Forces. I don’t think their efforts were out of desperation.
