  • Welcome to episode 11 of our motor glider restoration. In this episode we clean, repair, sand, and polish the rear canopy. We also sand all the old paint of the two motor cowling halves and mount the fasteners (Camlocs) to the fuselage. Lots of time went into these tasks, but the canopy looks really good now and our Falke looks really different with a nose.

Hi Marc, thanks for your comment! Great to hear that your SF28 can fly another year. Best flying wishes for 2022!

Getting so close! This is going to be a very fun glider for you after it's done.

Thanks! We're getting a bit closer every month! This year it will be 50 years old, would be great if it flies this year. But we go for quality over getting it ready soon :)

Hey, when are you getting back in with your video's? They are great.

Hi Simon, thanks! Always nice to hear when someone enjoys the videos. Currently I am still renovating the house, which turns out to be a bit bigger project than originally anticipated, mostly because we are doing it more thoroughly than planned. Once this is done we can start to get back to the airplanes! Meanwhile, I am collecting a lot of video about the house restoration, would you be interested in that as well?

Great job. I have a SF25B myself that I have revived. It needed a motor replacement, but otherwise it was as good as new.
However, what type of glue did you use for the cracks in the canopy? I have some visible cracks that I would like to fill as easy as you did there on the video.

Hi M-KAS, thanks! The very thin glue is Acrifix 2R 1900. The thicker uv hardening one is Acrifix 192. Nice that you revived a b-Falke as well, what type of engine does yours have?
