I had a SenseView hand held many years ago, it was ok but nothing on this one and cheaperr too. Nice review Sam.
I have a couple of these types of things. They work fine for me. And I don't find them very frustrating to take the handle out and twist it around and put it back in. You know that's fine if you can have someone that can lobby for you to get that $1,000 thing but you know the back and forth with the rehab counselor or I can just go out and buy it on my own. So I have a couple of them and for what I use them for they seem to work fine.

As some one who uses a magnifier every day, this one looks nice, but is way over complicated and the price is a bit well, HIGH. The one I bought last year, only goes up to 12x, only has four buttons, and also has a contrast button. Simply and easy to use. But some might find that unit useful, if they have the money.
Complete non sequitur, but do you know of an easy fold cane? I am "an old" ans the arthritis in my hands makes folding a cane very difficult. Many thanks for any suggestion you may have.
I have the ruby XL but when the battery dies it will become useless, this is nearly half the price of the ruby with more features! Thanks for the video. 👍
This device is roughly half of the weight of the ruby. It also is supported with a two-year warranty and a true distance camera. Please let me know if you have any questions
No you wont, find a store in your area called "Batteries and Bulbs" they should have some one there who can change the battery. Yes I know what your going to say, but they should be able to do it.

How well would this work to see Walk-DontWalk signals?
It would probably work pretty well for that. It would take some practice to know where to point the camera at but once you zoomed in, you could probably see them very well.

$650 unfortunately isn't budget for me. I'm so sad! I really think something like this would give me so much independence and just help my day to day but I will never be able to afford it.

Sub $600? $650 via the link. I’ve had a Ruby and Optelec Fairview… neither outperform or got as much use as my iPhone. Wouldn’t mind a piece like this but for $650 I’ll just upgrade my iPhone again. At $300 I’d buy and try.

ViSee 5” much cheaper, currently $225 on Amazon with worse ergonomics but good quality image and 1 year warranty. You did not mention warranty. Also, at least at low magnification, significant glare on both edges from led’s .

I seem to see two blind spots due to glare from the leds. Is that just me, or do others see them too?

I really like this magnifier but as far as I can tell, it will not work for me. 😂 The handle slides to accommodate right-handed people but I'm a lefty.
Good afternoon. After a little bit of further research with the manufacture we can open and re-position the screw to rotate the handle for left-handed people with ease.
I just received mine, the handle can be removed and replaced on other side of device for you left handed people. Hope this helps you decide.

I know it's a small market overall and it's great that there are aids like that, but $650 for a simple device like this? Compare that tech to any modern smart phone...
This is not budget friendly. A modern cell phone or tablet has way more capability than this device. Lots of free magnifier apps out there. Great video though.
This is a great comment. Though iPhones and iPads have different purposes and not every person uses these devices for that purpose or has the ability to do so. The average iPhone cost $1000 even though there’s a free app. This device is designed to do a specific task and is made with the purpose for its purpose. There are many free apps but not every persons ability allows them to use the app or afford the phone to do so

I appreciate your comment. Just like opinions there are many different people with different abilities different ages and different requirements for their independence... In this community not everyone knows how to use a cell phone or desires to use this option. @@adampalmer614 People who buy Iphones or Ipads, well, that is there problem. I'm an android man and I use the built in camera on my phone and zoom into things I need to look at. Oh and I'm legally blind, with some vision.
