- I play a Magic the Gathering Online Legacy league with Gruul Initiative, a deck from Patreon subscriber Matt. Whether this honest blue wizard likes it or not, Ancient Tomb is one of the best cards in Legacy right now. Powering out Chalice of the Voids, Trinisphere, and scary creatures in a variety of shells. This take uses all 8 on-color Spirit Guides to pay off with Minsc & Boo on top of the usual Caves of Chaos Adventurer and Undermountain Adventurer to get to 4 mana early and always have something stupid to do with it. Today, I'm the Taiga king! MTG

11:10 because of double strike, you get the initiative before the damage step, so you can forge one of your dorks get an extra 2 damage to put them to four, and the trap kills them the next turn
though it wouldn't have helped because of the one ring, i guess
@@OmneAurumNon Kind of hard to play around a top deck though. I'd much rather make sure that Terminus and Verdicts aren't outs, both of which could reasonably be in hand.

You can take the blue out of the deck, but not out of the player.
For what I've understood, Cradle Controls plays invigorate for the mono-red match up (I think the mono-red goblin sticker deck)
11:20 if you had Forged an attacking creature they would be at 4 because the double strike on the Fury token took the initiative which would have put them in range of Trap!
11:04 they would have been at less than five from Forge, since you got the initiative from the first strike combat damage. but then they had the ring
I play this deck in paper. I suggest once upon a time to smooth mulligans(it can grab an iniative creature, the land you need, or a spirit guide). Also ouphe>null rod because it can turn sideways.
Been wanting to try orchish lumberjack in a deck like this. Cool deck

For match 1 sideboarding, I like cutting Trinisphere if you are bringing in Forces as it relieves some tension between the way the two cards interact.

Bosh, I don't know if you're familiar with the band Rise Against, but since you seem to enjoy in-joke-y/meme-y things: Every time you mention an all-in hand not having a backup plan (and sadly often getting blown out), I'm reminded of "And how could something so right turn out so wrong?/I don't have a backup plan/This is all that I am" from their song '1000 Good Intentions'.

Undermountain adventurer tapping for 2 Green all the time and 6 Green some of the time is so messed up
I wonder if Rhino is actually a bad matchup or if it just requires a switch to a prison mindset. This deck does have some good hate for the matchup

In game one forge to trap was lethal, because you got the initiative from fury’s first strike damage, and forge would’ve been another two right then
