    I have been cleaning carpets,lounge suites etc for 15 years.The recommended method is to use an extraction machine using hot water and low foam carpet and upholstery cleaning chemical

    seems a wet vac or hot water carpet extractor sucking out all those dirty suds would be better than pushing a towel down on them.i think that would lift the dirt out

      AKO SI-ANO ...Your right have they used a steam carpet cleaner that would have came out great ! Instead of trying to use a billion towels.. And he is worried of the suds damaging the extractor !The shampoo suds and dirt will not harm a extractor, that's its job, extract the rug shampoo and dirt..

    • @hotsauce7362
      @hotsauce7362 Před 6 lety +1

      AKO SI-ANO: I was thinking the SAME thing. Maybe use a steam cleaner to loosen the dirt, then apply some soapy water to further loosen the dirt along with some scrubbing action and then use a high power wet vacuum to suck up all the dirt.

    1st spray a degreaser all over carpets let set up for 3-5 mins.. 2nd use warm/hot water with dish or laundry or a soap of your choice in a bucket.. 3rd use a nice brush to scrub carpets ... 4th use dry/wet shop vac to suck up soap and water and degreaser ... 5th repeat process 3-4 times depending on severity of dirt. 6th finally dry with towel..Bang Biscuit carpets will look pro.... Always worked for me!!

So I modified the setup, brushing the carpet fibers up before and during the first vacume then spreading soap using the hand brush and the DA as needed. Finally I did a final wetvac with a 1 1/2 inch hose.

    I see a lot of places scrub and scrub and scrub and use all these chemicals. It would be much easier to remove the seats and remove the carpet. Once that is done, you can hit it with some degreaser and soap then pressure wash it. Hang to dry and reinstall. Business wise, it would be faster,easier, and more cost effective. No need to spend hours scrubbing, using towels, using costly chemicals, and so forth.

    • @DetailKing
      @DetailKing  Před 8 lety +4

      +Federico Contreras Great tip! If you're able to build something like that into your price and are capable of doing something like that then yes. But some carpets especially in some higher end vehicles are not as easy to just remove and if not not reinstalled properly or if something has goes wrong on taking apart or the reinstall then you might be out some money lol. Great tip & thanks for sharing!!

    • @federicocontreras6352
      @federicocontreras6352 Před 8 lety +3

      True, but the suggestion of course is not a one size fits all. Some cars are easier to brake down than others. Always a good thing to hire previous audio installers as they know how to break down cars quite well. Also, the person giving the estimate must know how to estimate the cost of such processes. I would not break down say a Lambo or Bentley, but a Honda or GMC is quite easy to do and would yield more profit. Overcharge the expensive vehicles as more care is required and over estimate by say 15% on domestic or easy imports to play it safe in case something goes wrong. Once you have experience breaking down X vehicle you can lower the 15% over estimate to say 5% or no percent. Good luck!

    • @bklugster
      @bklugster Před 8 lety +12

      You're trying to tell me the time it takes to pull seats center consoles door sill moldings and all of that(potentially risking having to replace those parts if broken) is more cost effective than taking a rotary buffer with brush attachment and using a hot water extractor is more time effective? Personally if i were to pay someone to detail my carpet i would 100% not feel comfortable with them taking out anything other than my seats!

    • @bklugster

    • @federicocontreras6352
      @federicocontreras6352 Před 8 lety +2

      Yes it is more cost effective. Trust me I know what I am talking about. What do you drive? A Bentley? Its a few bolts to remove front seats and a few bolts for rear seats. I could turn the argument around and tell you that if your under padding becomes soaked, you could be looking at rust damage. 99% of the cars on the market today are easy to break down and minimal work is needed to obtain an awesome finished product. This type of work is not for everyone and especially those who are unskilled. However, with the proper skill set, breaking down and removing a carpet in the majority of vehicles is pretty easy and the end finish is 100 times better. Similarly, it would be like cleaning a vehicles cloth seat when still attached to the car. Can you do it? Yes. Will it look good? Maybe, but removing the seat and treating stains and washing it with a pressure washer and leaving it to air dry would achieve a much better result. I've done it several times in my Jeep and others and the results are way better. To each his own, but you can't knock something you have no clue about. I doubt you are car savvy.....

    Best possable cleanning of auto carpet i found was to remove the front seats (8 bolts) Remove the Bottom door trim (snap-out snap -in ) and the centre console (for me it was 6 bolts) and 2 bolts for the seat belt lock downs In all 20mins
    Get a ride to the Coin op Power wash and soak your carpets in Soap and water Let it set 5 -10 mins and power wash the carpet really good .....Now my little tricks ( for stains pre scrub the stained areas with soap and HOT water ) make sure the power washer you use come with Hot water at the drying stage Hang it up somewhere outside facing the sun It will drip dry Or Hang it up and use a Wet vac with the brush adaptor >>>> Detail shops will not do this due to damages of your plastic trim and or safety of removing bolts from seat belts and seats IE ( you crash the seat breaks in the crash You sue the detail shop because they set the bolts Etc Etc ....Fully cleaning like new carpet cost me 6 bucks in coins and $6 for half a bottle of Carpet stain remover and a sunday morning

      Why would you need to the brush adaptor if you're only sucking up excess water?

    A product like Tuff stuff, with warm water and rainbow quality vacuum cleaner. Will solve this issue without any problem. Use of polishers tools, for professionals use only. Nice video.....

    degreaser, a brush, and a vacuum would work 10x better. notice he never showed the carpet after he "cleaned" it

    let's take a town and rub all this back in to the carpet trying to wipe it up instead of using a shop vac and suckin it up..I mean just seems like common sense in my mind but hey he's the detail king that couldn't get the stain out

    Agree with most of the comments here. There are better ways to do that. I normally spray my cleaner to loose the dirt, then brush, then spray shampoo and then vacuum with a dry-wet vacuum machine. If it's too bad like the one here, repeat the process spraying either shampoo or cleaner depending on how heavy is the dirt.
    Definitely, you need and extractor or vacuum to do a better and quicker job.

    Incredible to see how you clean this carpet. It can be done so much easier. This is the wrong tool for this cleaning job.

      +FutureLine Roy There's many different ways to clean carpet, everyone has different techniques and tools that they use such as yourself I'm sure. This is just one of the many ways to do so that we find has always worked well for us. Sometimes the videos just don't truly do the process justice as it would in person lol. Thanks for watching!
