This is the second part of the road trip to Jaffna in Northern Sri Lanka. We entered Mannar Island, which is a small non-touristic island. There is a point on Mannar Island which is the closed point between Sri Lanka and India. So, you can kind of call it the Sri Lanka India border. India is just 28km (17miles) away.

In Sri Lanka donkeys are not only found in Mannar and northern Sri Lanka but if you go to Sri jayewardanapura you can see a gathering of 225 donkeys in the parliament.

Wow, it's indeed a very long journey...just imagine 11 hours on the road. An interesting tour in Mannar Island. Amazing to see the Sri Lanka lndia border which is only 28 km away. Most Indians don't realize it, but the shortest distance between India and Indonesia is around 100 kms. We never count Indonesia among our neighboring countries - it actually is.

I am happy that you guys are focusing in these beautiful areas. If you look at Sri Lanka the North, North western and the Eastern provinces are neglected by the Government. Yet there are very beautiful areas and beaches to see. Now there are very good potential that many tourists can come from India and other countries. These places are much cheaper than Colombo, and many other areas. There is also less tourist Scammers and less crime I hope. So Tourists can enjoy peaceful days 👍

Very interesting trip to Jaffna, where you met a fan of Italian football team, then you reached the border between Mannar island belonging to Sri Lanka and an Indian island, the beach where the fishermen were drying fishes and finally the car was stopped for a while at the police roadblock before leaving the island. At last, you reached your hotel room in Jaffna safe and sound. Looking forward to your next video on Jaffna.

Before 1970s boat mail train was running. You can get a ticket from Madras to Colombo with a ferry and train ticket
Namaste/Namashkar/Namoshkar to Hazara and her husband for showing you all the places..... Namaste is the original hindi word....in different regions they use it as above mentioned
Namaskaram in malayalam
Depending on which part of India, different dialogues say Namaste differently. Namaskar, Namaskaram etc. The Tamil version would be Vanakkam.

Hey Ken , we are very sad about our beautiful country Because corrupt government has destroyed our country. Our nation are starving and dying. Can you see all the protesting all over the Srilanka because people are suffering no food , no medicine, no electricity, no fuel etc. Sri Lankan lost our country and everything. Corrupt politicians have sold our country to China. We have a big crisis in srilanka so this is not fun time for the Sri Lankan nation we all are starving 😢 and standing all together to protect our country.

When Britishers left Indian Sub continent, they made so many bad things for this region.
Pashtuns are living in Afghanistan & Pakistan. Britisher kept them in 2 countries. Tamils are living in India & Srilanka, they were kept them same way.
Bengali & Punjabi were divided on their own mutual acceptance.
Pashtun & Tamil are still fighting for more rights not separate country.
However, Sinhalese behavior has turned 360 degree after witnessing Srilanka
" Wiedersehen" ... LOL ,that was kinda unexpected...Always interesting stuff you discover when you visit around the borders, Trying to recall all your border adventures..... Malaysia-Singapore, Malaysia-Thailand, Thailand-Malaysia, Thailand-Myanmar, Golden Triangle, Thailand-Laos ..... Hmm Did I miss anything else?? and now Sri Lanka-India....well, sort of.... 11 hours on the road is pretty exhausting ..... TIme for a good rest, Awaiting the new adventure in and around Jaffna... as always ,stay safe, be vigilant, take care mate.

There are comfortable Ferry services from Jaffna ( Kankesenthurai) and also airport from Jaffna where one can fly to India, Colombo and other places. There is no need to travel to Colombo to get to India. Colombo is expensive, noisy, not so clean. On top of it there are many tourist scammers there. We need to develop the other parts of Sri Lanka and give opportunity to the rural people.
Ken, this is a difficult time in srilanka. As your well wisher, i want you to leave the country as quick as possible since there are no signs of improvement in country's economy. But pls do visit srilanka again as there's a lot to see and cherish 😁

Sri Lankan government has declared state of emergency and curfew over the weekends. I think its better you leave Sri Lanka as soon as the curfew is lifted, either return to Germany for a short break or come to Malaysia. Very sad that this happened when I was actually looking forward to your next video from Jaffna, nevermind we can watch your exploration of Northern Sri Lanka and other parts of Sri Lanka that you have not yet visit in your next trip to Sri Lanka in future when the political situation is back to normal. Stay safe.
