    Thank you for sharing this video. I have a P-shaped conservatory with a dome and was looking at doing something similar but the concern is once you sealup the ceiling with the quilting. The risk is when the a leak springs up in the polycarbonate roofing sheets.

    Did you batten on Ceiling and then plaster board to hide insulation on ceiling?
    Then how you used removable cladding sheets on plaster boards?

    Great info. Did you use insulation on ceiling because When you remove panels I you dint see insulation.
    And does removable panels not make it little cold in winter because of gaps ? Please reply, it would help a lot to me and others.

  • @dennell
    @dennell Před 2 lety

    Great idea but just a quick question. Your main concern with the stud wall and insulation was that it would overlap the glass which I agree wouldn't look very nice on the outside. Was there anything from stopping you from adding some uPVC paneling to the glass like the stuff they sell at eurocell?? Sure on the outside glass you have say 60mm missing but at least then you could have had insulated board??

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes certainly could do that I guess it's a bit of my OCD maybe that I didn't want the glass to look like it wasn't Framed on the side where the wall board are butted against. As for the cladding we'll be using that on the outside at the moment you just look like membrane and foil.

    • @dennell
      @dennell Před 2 lety

      @@BusinessGrowthReady my main concern with all this is just condensation behind the stud wall.. there will be gaps and condensation will form.. does a gap need to be left either the top, bottom to allow air flow?

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 2 lety +1

      @@dennell Good point there was a gap at the top on both walls the ceiling kinds of masks that however the ceiling also has a small gap between the fake walls. plus on the sides nearest to the front conservatory have about 5mm which is masked by the blinds.
      As the say on TV always seek professional advice or is it don't try this at home.

      @@BusinessGrowthReady I'm just going to buy the infills I've seen which allows me to remove the glass and replace with white .. they are just so pricey. It will cost me about £250 for me to cover up a neighbour's wall.

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 2 lety +1

      @@dennell if it's just to block the view, window (glass) film may be an option used that for 4yrs allows the light in also. amzn.to/3t8KkxJ only added the walls to film videos and control the sound at bit.

    Hi
    Is rockwool good for conservatory roof.
    I've been quoted by someone to use rockwool instead of superquilt for roof. My conservatory is fully glass.
    Just a bit confused what to go with.

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 3 lety

      rockwool insulation is an option, SuperQuilt is a 2 in 1 Insulating Vapour Control Layer also a thinner profile (not so thick)

    Hi did you get any condensation after insulating the walls? Also did you cover from outside?

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 3 lety

      no, we do not get condensation, however, it joins a veranda so the air is balanced across a larger area, added heating and air vents in the veranda may be helping. Outside roof not covered, plan to clad the sides outside (couldn't get supply in lockdown)
      Our local church spent a bucket load on a new extension lots of glass and now getting condensation, so looking at buying a humidify. which would be my fallback if I need it.
      Maybe worth looking at Vapor Barrier/Breathable Membrane

  • @charnock35

    How did you attach the battons to the frame and did you plaster the boards before decorating?
    Thanks.

    • @BusinessGrowthReady
      @BusinessGrowthReady  Před 2 lety +1

      after removing the trim from the eaves beam (think that's the name) Glued a baton to the frame the profile was shaped like the square bracket symbol [ on the keyword ], to bring it level with the rest of the framing (no risk of it slipping the because of the profile shape). glued the bottom to the windowsill. also products like Aquabord laminate panels or Wall cladding could also be an option.
