this video is specifically what I needed; I'm honestly surprised to just find this now thank you!!
You saved me big time! I was modding MKDS so I can record my runs and couldnt find my save files. I owe it too you!
Thank you! This helped a lot
Definitely about to do this as soon as I get my 3ds fr
Thank you!
this video helped so much when i was trying to transfer a save file from one DS Cartridge to another, Thank you! Liked and Subbed!
Thank you! Glad I could help :)
life saver, i got it all to work man thanks so much. f nintendo for making this the harder than it needs to be smh
This so Cool 😎🆒
its awesome to finall learn a good free method to get roms from my copies of games legally thank you so much 🙏 QwQ (and also REALLY be able to safely back up nds save files)
but the bad part is that it will cost you tons of money to buy each game and dump then onto your 3ds
thanks for the tutorial it's really helpful, my only question is if it is possible to transfer those save file on pc and play them on an emulator? if yes how can i do?
Do you know if you can transfer save data from a TwilightMenu version of the game to a cartridge version? Any help would be appreciated.
Is it possible to backup DS game save data without using TwilightMenu as I use the NDS forward generator which allows to put DS games on your 3DS home screen?
It’s the same procedure, AFAIK RocketRobz’s NDSForwarder store the save files in the same folder as your ROM, in a folder called “saves”. And I believe YANBF by lifehackerhansol copies TWiM’s saving convention
I just wanna say that I'm gonna try it and
Could you help me figure out how to transfer a pokemon from pkhex to my legit soul silver cart? This is the closest video I could find, but Im still so lost.
Is there a was to Factory reset the gamcard via twilight Menu
what do i do if my black 2 game cart has no save file when i go to check for it in godmode9? and how do i inject a save file into the physical cart? i also have 2 black2 carts like you have, one shows a save file the other does not.
See if the save file shows up & backs up successfully via Checkpoint
Is the 3ds-shell app needed? Or is that just a method to convert files via the 3ds (which is cool).
i’ve found that it’s way easier to use gm9 for the entire process. you can copy the game rom and save file from gm9 out and put them directly into the TM++ roms folders.
Hey do you know how to transfer 100% datas on twilight menu, because I tried doing that for mario party ds and it didn't work for some reason, it just gives me a blank data, which makes me start from scratch, do yk how to do this lmao?
Check out my video "How to transfer digital NDS save files (from R4/TWiLightMenu) to physical cartridge (via Checkpoint)", should be my 2nd-most recent upload
And is it possible to transfer a savefile from websites to a NDS rom in Twilight menu ?
Yep. Just transfer the desired .sav file to your DS' SD card, make a copy/transfer the ROM file, make sure the .nds and .sav file have the same filename, and move the ROM and the save file to the corresponding TWiLightMenu folders @ 8:25
@@inclinerd i think i'll have to find where my old save file is located, because when i do what you said, the game still detects my old savefile.
@@juliogaltoni Make sure the ROMs and save files are different filenames, E.G. Pkmn_Black2.nds & Pkmn_Black2.sav; PkmnBlack2_internet.nds & PkmnBlack2_internet.sav.
And if you haven't already, make sure you've updated TWiM, the newer versions store the .sav files in the "saves" folder, rather than storing the .sav alongside the .nds file, like in older TWiM versions or R4's.
@@inclinerd i already have the latest Twilight menu version, it's just that the saves for this game arent stored in the "saves" folder. Thats the issue and i don't know where does the game stores its savefiles
Unexistent explanation of what you're doing. Messy tutorial
I copied everything exactly for HeartGold but everytime I open the digital version of the game, it loads a new game from the tutorial. I made sure to match the .sav file name to the rom name but still no luck. Any advice?
Click X to save and let it create a new save file, then take note of what the filename save file is and where it’s saved in the SD card. Then you can swap out the files with the save you want, and rename the file accordingly
@@inclinerd did not work for me, any ideas?
U made this way more complicated then it has to be
You’re absolutely right. But this video was intended for an audience who has barely used a computer or interacted with homebrew. This video can be summed up with the sentence: “Move the .sav file to your 3DS and restore it with Checkpoint”. If you understand that sentence, then you don’t need this video lol.
Is it possible to transfer a save file from twilightmenu to a real cartridge?
Yep. Just back up your real cartridge in Checkpoint once so it adds the game to the list, then use 3DShell to navigate to TWiM’s save folder, copy the save, navigate to Checkpoint’s folder, find the game you just backed up, create a new folder, and paste the save file into the folder. Make sure the folder & save file names match other Checkpoint-generated backups. Next time you open Checkpoint with the real cartridge plugged in, you can restore the save file to the cartridge.
Can i do that with FBI and with out this shell
No in folder in gm9
Create it.
The tutorial would be better without the music in the background!
Like if checkpoint is unreliable
You don’t need it at all 😭
