The title was “screaming” clickbait. But I’m glad I’ve long-pressed it because it was one of most useful. That was great mate 💪🏻
Haha it was a little clickbait, but saying "Long-Press is Great" wasn't going to draw as many people 😅
rip 3d touch
Still miss it, especially for the keyboard cursor
Never forget
3D Touch was way better.
love it. some great tips in here. thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I followed this tutorial whilst using Picture in Picture mode and trying out the long press functions.
Good strategy!
You must be a genius.
@@Frankie5Angels150 I wish my wife said that 🤣
Thanks for sharing. Great information. Blessings on your day.
You’re welcome!
Super helpful, Stephen 👍🏼 So many I didn’t know about!
Glad it was helpful!
Question: Is there any way to increase brightness above and beyond the brightness max setting in the control panel or settings?
Always trying to be helpful. I’m glad I sub to this channel.
Appreciate that 🙏🏻
I’ve used the long press (now that I know what it’s called 😆) randomly and found some go tos. Now I have a lot more to try out!! Thanks for sharing!!
It's a sneaky good feature! You're welcome 🙂
One of the best videos I’ve seen. Didn’t know about some of these. New sub! Thank you. 😊
Appreciate that! Thanks for subbing 🙏🏻
SO much information, super vid!
Glad it was helpful!
It is amazing just how powerful long press can be! Great video thanks
It really is! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Love your presentation style - great job.
Thank you, means a lot!
Thank you great vid
Appreciate it!
Stephen really IS an Apple specialist and enthusiast! Love this. ❤
Thanks Steve! Love these little reminders; I tend to forget or only use a few of these.
Means a lot, thanks for saying so!
@@beardfm Miss you at Apple Insider; official or not, you were a great part of that community
It was interesting and useful, thanks
Appreciate that!
Very useful as usual
Appreciate it, that's my goal!
1:37 thats Haptic Touch, previously 3D Touch, men I really miss that !
I miss it too!
im both surprised and not surprised that not much people know these shortcuts. there are still gestures not mentioned in the video like the multi select in the photo app and how you can search text in the search field of the photos app, IMO really worth a brief mention and is very useful for me.
I share those here! czcams.com/video/N-mz_nckT2g/video.htmlsi=vU2-c_mVSqQoRQp3
That was a great video 👍🏾
Glad you enjoyed it!
These are great 🎉
Appreciate it!
i'm loving that mac pillow
Throw Boy is the brand!
You’re the best! Always enjoy your videos! 🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Is there an easy way to change camera settings like capturing photos from heif to JPEG
Changing from LOG etc
using the action button?
Just checked and unfortunately there's not
Great
Really good
Thanks!
Your home network name.... .GOLDEN!
😏 thanks!
How do you disable split screen? I hate getting stuck in that accidentally
Split screen on iPad you mean?
@@beardfm yes
7:08 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ You are my favorite i like that
😔❤️✋🏻🇵🇸
Three gestures I didn’t know, in the first 30 seconds. Good stuff!
Nice! Glad I highlighted those
Stephen, you are a Dune fan. Good taste ! :)
I am! Can’t wait for Dune 2 to come out on streaming
What happens with the gesture of sliding the bottom bar down? This sends the screen down halfway. I still don't know what it's for
That's reachability and still works! I enabled that in Accessibility with the Pro Max, helps get to Control Center easier.
How did I not know some of this?
I learned the long press in weather map while MAKING this 😅
RIP 3dtouch
I loved 3D Touch and used it religiously on my iPhone 7. Id say 75% of my friends with iPhones didn’t use it or even knew the feature existed unfortunately.
Same
My god you talk fast 😆
Haha sorry trying to get it all in! Some viewers go .75 or .5 speed
I get the same thing too. I think us Latin/spanish people just naturally speak fast. But his speech speed is perfectly normal to me 😅 😁🙃
Do you use a voice enhancer or does the compression and decompression by the network speed up you video? I need to use 75% slower play back speed to listen to your presentation. I need to stop the video and practice each function. Too much important info to learn presented too fast.
It is totally illogical for Apple to invent square wheels. The original sequence is better, easier because it is logical and visually obvious, for me faster, and safer.
First select the App with a tap, then three dots for extra functions. If I need to take a photo, or want to make a phone call, I don't want to accidentally press too long and get, Remove App, Edit Home Screen, Take a Portrait Selfie, Take a Portrait, Record Video, Take Selfie.
There I read them all, and no "take a photo," to capture the elephant going by.
Remove App should be locked away in settings. In bright sunlight one could make a big mistake.
I don't speed anything up, that's just my natural talking speed.
What case are you using on your iPhone?
Keyway leather case!
Um this has been on iPhones since the iPhone 6s, and a major part of the marketing
And some people still don’t know about it!
Early stephen
I need an iPhone that simply works, and works simply. Accidentally pressing too long means undoing and redoing. That is slower not faster. I don't need 10 ways to do something. My old 3G iPhone was so simple to use, and it was light and easy to carry.
For all of my complaints, I have subscribed because you know far more than I do and explain it well.. I just need 75% play back speed.
then go back to the old phone
The only apple gesture you should know is:
Throw it in the trash
First.
Relax already…. Take a little more time, and it would all make more sense.
🤔🧐🤨
Unless it can do some cia military stuff, it’s not super powered !
Just some beta nerd stuff.
Still android gestures are better than apple, apple back gesture is a mess
Killjoy.
Glad you are android and not Apple stick to Droid Vids not Apple ones lol
Then why are you here? Typical android users, lmfao.
Why are you watching Apple videos if Android is so amazing?
@@King_Ithraexactfuckinly
It is too abstract and too complicated. 👎👎👎 I know where Apple can stick their unknown finger gestures. Do the maths on how many things Apple requires me to learn and remember, thousands of secret function controls. 👎👎👎
So use an Android and get off this post
@@tommydiquasi1424 I have bought 4 Samsung phones and 2 Samsung tablets for my partner and she loves them.
I screen share from my iPads to my Samsung TV. Changes to CZcams are causing real problems and require constant resetting. One of my iPads is broken and Apple say it is unrepairable.
The more Apple fails to meet my needs the closer I come to buying a Samsung Galaxy S9 Ultra with a built in mobile phone and a better formatted 14.6" screen. I use my equipment 8 hours a day. I don't think Apple would appreciate your comment.
I believe Apple is being destroyed by software not keeping up with the hardware. I changed from Microsoft to Apple and from computers to iPads because I can work better with their simplicity of operation.
One hardware problem is that iPads really need a built in mobile phone for security.
Sometimes expressing criticisms enables problems to be identified and corrected. I see it as trying to help, but I it is true that I am frustrated with Apple's programming. Changing to Samsung is a lot of adjustment in my work load.
Then use a fracking rotary phone from the 1800s, is it really that complicated long pressing things? 🙄
@@brisky0 Yes, it is unnecessarily complicated, difficult and potentially dangerous. Accidentally long press the camera and the first on the list is Remove App. In bright sun that may not be seen. We often struggle in bright sun to get the shot, point the iPhone, press where the shutter button should be and hope to capture the shot. Come home and in low light we have lots of selfies, missed every shot.
I used to teach graphics, including flow diagrams.
I got caught in bright sun, hard to see the screen, needed to make an important phone call, seconds count, danger of hitting "Remove App" at the bottom of the list this time, no consistency in design.
To Remove App one should have to open settings, scroll to camera or phone etc as required, enter the App settings and make the desired change. not removed by accident when trying to take photos. Under pressure, press too long, read the phone list, nowhere does it say make a call on that list, that seems essential. Instead one has to press the green phone symbol, (I just did that), that then opens Contacts, then tap the keyboard, and dial 000 For emergency in Australia, or 1669 in Thailand for an Ambulance where I am at present.
Do not build in to the design things that can go wrong. iPhone was a simple, "Fool Proof System," Simply brilliant.
We used to press the green phone symbol and get the keypad, we call it the dial, then dial 000 for emergency.
Or we would start by opening Contacts, select the contact, and press the phone number.
That was fast and simple. Every extra tap doubles the time to complete the operation. Use the KISS principle, "Keep It Simple Stupid"
