To have your opponent get a standing ovation like that for winning ONE SET against you: you better be unbelievable- and of course Ma Long is.
I love Samsonov's expression when the crowd cheered after game 4...genuine happiness.
+Atm Tam He's too old to be the best anymore, but man the nostalgic value must be incredible for him. He played great :)
maybe the ball is staying too low or closer to net on backhand for of them, the number of blocks going in to the net is more than usual.

+ttlondon2012 intromusic is quitier than earlier, thx!
+ttlondon2012 Thank you very much for all you have been doing all these years for the table tennis community. Your selfless, generous contributions and timely, high quality productions make CZcams a nicer place for so many fans. A heart felt thank you.

A magician's serve!
+ttlondon2012 have you full video ??
Adam, thank you very much for your excellent commentating at 2016 German Open. Your humor is appreciated as well. You demonstrated: Very quick responses to the play going on. Pretty accurate analysis of players' tactics. Unbiased remarks. Non-intrusive commentating between points, rather than rambling through points, on and on. All these make you the well recognized voice of ITTF. Thank you.
One suggestion though. At the beginning of the match, could the video camera shoot you for a couple of seconds? These should serve two purposes: 1). set up a rapport between you and the viewers; 2.) so viewers know YOUR viewing angle in relation to the table tennis court so we can understand your commentating better.
Keep up the great work. Thanks again, Adam.
+LongTimeTTFan Thank you for your kind comment! I appreciate it and think that comments like yours encourage other people to leave positive comments as well (which is quite refreshing and easier to respond to). Thanks again 8>D
To address the points you brought up with the camera, I think one issue that would come up is, since the video footage (I believe) is being used to be shown in many countries around the world with commentary in many languages it wouldn't make sense to turn the camera on me or even have my name on the screen... as I am often not the only commentator. Occasionally the camera will turn on me like last year when I commentated in Cameroon and I was the only commentator.
1) I agree though. Hopefully with Ask A Pro Anything or anyone who is interested in seeing some fun table tennis, some behind the scenes on the World Tour or just checking out some of my adventures, they can catch me on FB or even my CZcams channel (but I am updating my FB much more lately). But definitely a good idea and I'll try to work on building that rapport. 8>)
2) At this tournament, I was up on the 2nd floor but the truth is, when commentating, I almost never look at the court (only occasionally for cues and entrances or when games are about to start). I spend the majority of the time looking at a TV monitor so that I am watching the same thing as viewers at home. The main reason for this is, I generally need to know what the viewers at home are seeing so I can talk about what they are looking at. Sometimes cameras pan to fans in the crowd, coaches, trainers, family members or other top players in the arena and if I am not watching the monitor I could miss some good opportunities but also, if I am watching the court, I might talk about something that the viewers at home can't see or wouldn't have any frame of reference to really understand. So while every set up is different on the World Tour (and I will post some funny pictures on FB from Hungary where I was sitting on the edge of a concrete block and had no "seat") my view is the same as the viewer at home 8>)
Hopefully this is helpful and thanks again for your thoughtful, supportive and encouraging comment!
Adam 8>D
+Adam Bobrow Thank you for the explanation and quick response, Adam. Now i have a better understanding your POINT Of VIEW. Occasionally, Ian Marshall is shown sitting not too far from the court. I assume your seat is in the vicinity as well. So i expected you would know and explain why the Korean coach was sent off in the women's semi. But now i know why you had no idea either. Anyway, keep up the great work. Thank you again.
+Adam Bobrow Keep up the good work Buddy!
+ttlondon2012 Thanks! You as well. I appreciate the well edited highlights you create! 8>D
+Adam Bobrow I was hoping to hear Richard Prause's commentary - he always adds very interesting background. Any chance he' ll be back in the commentator seat?
Crazy. Ma has got all the possible champions since the beginning of last year. Look forward to his performance in the Olympics.
How perfectly ma long played! He is just like a robot. I loved how the spectators cheered after samsonov won the 4th set. :)
Yeah, it feels like an achievement for Vladi to take one set of Ma Long. And both the quarter and semi showed he's close to 2009 form again. But since the World Championship last year ML has been unstoppable. I can't see any weaknesses. At the moment the only question is, can he keep this up until the Olympics?
Wow. I like how the crowd celebrate you even won 1 set from the TT god :)
+dfunkt I'd like to see any CNT player at 40 take a set from Ma Long from the present.
wanq liqin & ma lin
Have you even seen Ma Lin in his match against Michael Maze lately? I'll be surprised if he even gets 3 points in a set against Ma Long. Wang Liqin has not played competitively for a long time as well and at this level you lose such a lot after being out of action for just 4 months (see Timo Boll's current form). Liu Guoliang has not played competitively for at least 15 years.
+Ankur Srivastava Absolutely agree. Chinese players have short shelf life. So none of the players on the wrong side of 35 will be able to win a single game against Ma Long.
Where do you think He Zhiwen etc are from?
Pretty impressive that Vladi was able to take a set off Ma Long at his old age.
+Mashimai Mash WHAT AN ACHIVMENT!1!111!1!!11 To take 1 set off Ma Long; AHHAAHAHAH. Should i show some games, where Ma Long was defeated by Samsonov?
+Rew Ret I think hes talking about the fact that Ma Long is at his best/getting better, wheras Vladdy is closing in on 40 and still managing to pull out games. We all know Vladdy has beaten Ma Long before - no need to mock this guy^^
+Rew Ret Umm, at this point of time, it IS impressive feat, since even higher ranked players like ZJK could not do so in this tournament.
The last time Sansonov defeated Ma Long was a pretty long time ago. Ma Long may have been strong back then, but right now he's pretty much regarded as the strongest player in the world by far. For a 40-year old Samsonov to take a set of Ma Long at his peak is amazing.
@@drdre5286 it's an asian cultural aspect to not let someone lose face. Its called mentsu. Ma Long wasn't performing at his peak then. Sorry to burst your bubble bro
I saw SAMSONOV's match from TV when I was a kid... Now I am 31. Time passed so quickly.
+杜佳 Wow SAMSONOV Vladi is 40 years old this year, i thought he was at his 30s. That reminds me that Liu Guoliang retired at the age of 26..
杜佳 I shacked his hand.. and I was with his son playing fortnite together xD
And now you're 38😢
Ma Long and Djokovic are unstopable !
+Nenad Petkovic Isnt djokovic a tennis player, not a table tennis player?
+phoenixodin tennis...
+Nenad Petkovic might as well throw Chen Long in that list too lol
+Stream3344 Chen Long lost to Lee Chong Wei the last two matches they had against each other, and then Chen Long also lost to Axelson. So... he's probably not as dominant as Ma Long and Djokovic in their sports. :)
+Nenad Petkovic And Lin Dan too
"Ma Long the Dragon, The Dictator"
lol Adam. Top tier commentating at the German Open :D
Samsonov has overachieved so much with so little at his age and that's enough to cheer for.
I was there, legend DAY for me, thanks!:)
ma long is number one 11:05 omg
I love both players, they are fantastic.
Malong is absolutely the best table tennis player on this planet for now.
History repeats itself Ma Long defeats Samsonov again in the finals of German Open ! Last time it happened in 2005!
+Shaunak Sengupta Samsonov won that 2005 German Open final against Ma Long you noob
+Vincent Gl Seriously, how did that factually wrong comment get so many votes? Looks like a lot of TT noobs around.
The crowd definately deserved a more spectacular match!!!
Kudos to Germans, they really appreciate and like ping pong 👍👏👏👏
Congrats to Ma long great match
Ma Long is the best and end! :D
+Leandro Souza Ma Long is the 'beast' tho..
Was hoping for a suprise by Vladi :(
ITTF AMAYZING
Ma is just unbelievable... Has anyone else hold such a record of defeating so many players every single time till they retire?
Ma Long's winning percentage is the best of all time.
@@andreialexandruparfeni7129 Easy when you main rivals are either in their 30's or injured.
Now that's was an entertaining match
*Samsonov has beaten Ma long once, but that was 10 years ago :D*
You either do not know the facts or are weak in maths. Samsonov beat Ma Long in 2009 World Cup.
+Bryan Fury Their head to head is now 7-5 Ma, as ITTF does not count Asia-Europe matches.
+inyourface lol if Ma Long doesn't retire 3 years from now, it'll be 10 years
+Bryan Fury Vlady has beaten Ma Long 4 times.. Last time- at 2009 WC
+ttCrawsaive wow, didn't know about 2007 Croatia Open)
Amazing to see Samsonov save one set against Ma Long, given that Ma Long's equal-aged competition already struggle to do the same. Also nice to see Samsonov smile like that.
Ma Long possess extreme focus and agility.....both together in table tennis is godlike. Impatience sometimes pulls down his focus and causes him to lose that set.
Why the match go to the fourth set , when Ma Long had won three straight games ? Am I missing something here ?
8:31 the most beautiful moment in table tennis history. Look at that face
does anyone know why Xu Xin not go in german open since 2010?
at 4:49 why did the ball go sideways like that can someone explain? I assume he made alot of spin on it but I dont get why he apologize for that
Soooo surprising...
8:50 . dat smile.
4:45 No, Adam, we didn't see that ball 'kick'. From that angle it is impossible to see anything that has something to do with the game: player's choice making, judging on ball height and speed etc. All that is left for us to see is the scoreline. However, we can see perfectly the logos on taraflex. I am sure this is what it is all about...
馬龍時代正式來臨
happy smile
Vladimir started too slow/nervous. Cant be doing that at this levels against the likes of ma long
Вот это игра!
サムソノフかっこいい
Ma Long is just unbelievably good. He punishes you for everything. Quality shots and serves are not enough
I was really expecting samsanov to win ..
YAAAAAA...
come on you guys still not aware? Chinese coach approach by German organizer and told Chinese team that we do not want a All- Chinese in Final..so ZJK was made to lose...and also monetary bride to China team in final do not do a 4-0 win..western opponent to take 1 game for TV viewer
So ZJK was made to lose? Come again? How did it help avoid all-Chinese final?
zjk was injured.
SAMSONOV TODA UNA LEYENDA
Can someone tell me what do they do with their rubbers after game/tournament/trainings? As I know they change them very often, maybe every week. Do they throw them away or give back to supplier/sponsor? If they throw away them, I would like to get one pair of rubbers. Have been playing for 5 years with mine, want to change, but can not. They are very expensive here.
Would like to get used ones. Doesn't matter what kind of rubbers, because mine are absolutely became useless, but I keep playing with them.
They always change the rubber but i don't think they will give it to you.
There is always exists possibility))) Even 0,001%)))
+Alaybek Birimkulov just buy some cheap rubbers
Love Ma Long 表白本命马龙~^_^喜欢的真是不要不要的~❤️
this guy Ma long is a robot
Samsonov's smile ... :D
Samsonov didn't have control like that in the game against CCY. Ma Long was excellent as always ofc.
The camera angle should be changed
Why did Ma Long get angry in the end?
У меня одного такое ощущение ,что для китайцев настольный теннис это работа,а для остальных это просто игра в удовольствие.
8:52 "I'm still able"
지금의 마롱은 무적인듯... 백핸드도 엄청나고 포핸드 드라이브가 너무 강함;;
回顾马龙今年的比赛,更加期待他里约奥运会摘金!
If I see some more of this. I will propably call hacks On Ma Long.
Ma long let him win a set
Agreed bro😂😂😂😂
why samsonov had not his coach?
Why is the earth globe under the table?
オリンピックは誰が馬龍を止めるかって感じだな
После замены ракетки Ма Лонг начал странно выигрывать, честно играть надо ЧМАЛОНГ!!!!
This prettu much confirms it. Equipments play big roles in Table Tennis and China dominance.
I have played both H3 National and Tenergy. Boosted both of them and I can say, H3 National outperforms Tenergy.
This isn't me taking a dig at China's players. But you can't deny that it is true.
No they don't. There is no hidden rubber that only Chinese players use. If a top European wants to, he can play with a "Chinese" tacky rubber, like Ovtcharov tried.
imho the standing ovation was an acknowledgement of Samsonov's refusal to give up, not Ma's awesomeness. Samsonov beat him before.
Yeah but Ma Long has still been the better player. Ooh
@@Mansplainer452 Samsonov is just ancient. He was no perfect player by any means but Ma Long isn't anywhere near Wang Hao or Ma Lin.He just played players who where a full decade older than him.
If games were to 2, Vladdy would be World Champion
there is nobody who can defeat MA Long.
Kudos to Samsonov.
Kto ogląda 2021??
Bruce Lee VS. Tai Chi Master, Bruce Lee won.
look at his face)
why did ma long gave his paddle to the umpire?
I like Adam Bowbrow, but he needs to stop constantly saying "on the planet," and also, "you have got to be kidding!" Say them once or twice, but not over and over, it spoils an otherwise good commentary.
Ma Long let Samsonov win a set
Wow! that asian player is quite good. he beat the great SAMSONOV with 4-1
ма лонг порвал его как тузик грелку китайская школа дает о себе знать!
Samsonov lost a lot of points on basic shots?
ahahah 8:53
Easy player to beat. I wish there was somebody in the world who can challenge Ma Long on his best day. Until he has a worthy opponent, Ma Long will never go down as a legend. Zhang Jike, Xu Xin etc. are just not in that level.
just like Wang Hao his rein will end somehow is just a matter of how.
+Sinchan Pathak such a ridiculous comment. Ma Long is already a legend.
+Sinchan Pathak untill he has a worthy opponent? really? he got his ass to his mouth in the chinese trials by zhang and xu xin
+Sinchan Pathak There are players who can challenge him. A week ago he lost to Zhang Jike if not more. If you mean, can he be challenged by people outside China. The answer is NO
+Christian Haugaard I seriously doubt Ma Long cares that much about the Squad Trials. It's so obvious what he's doing. He's saving energy for the international events. He's not gonna play 100% for squad trials. ZJK on the other hand needs to because he's lost like 5 international games in 100 days or something. ZJK is also saving his energy / faking injury for big tournaments...
