    10cm hair buns seem to be working well on the 1.9" Traxxas Canyon trails on my TRX4 Sport.

    Best part is you can run vented tires, and don't have to take your wheels apart after every run!

    What a beautiful spot ! I ordered and I'm waiting for hair buns. Can't wait to try them! Did you vented the rims ?

      Thank you, yes it’s a lovely spot. No, they’re sealed on my Venture, but vented on the other one. I done it that way so I could see how each would do.

    Too bad there is not a hair bun option for 1.0" & 2.2" crawler tires also like 1.9" wheels. So until there is a better option I will just stick to foam inserts because 3D printed inserts are not nearly soft a nuff for my crawling applications.

    DUDE! Where did you find the scale Welsh flag sticker? And since this video, do you still recommend these as foams?

      I really can’t remember 🤣
      Yes totally! I will be doing an update video as soon as lockdown restrictions allow me to travel more than 5 miles to the same spot.

      @@Aurora_The_Campervan is there a problem from water getting in to the tires? I seemed to have sealed 2 but the other 2 get water in them . I haven't tested them enough yet but am wondering how they hold up and if they collapse after time. Tia and nice rig!

    • @Aurora_The_Campervan
      @Aurora_The_Campervan  Před 2 lety

      So 2 of my tyres always get water in them as there’s small pinch holes on the sidewalls. All I do is squeeze it out because the donuts don’t hold the water. Once it’s out I just use a syringe and put it through one of the holes and put air back in.

    Do you vent your tyres

    • @Aurora_The_Campervan
      @Aurora_The_Campervan  Před 3 lety

      These particular ones aren’t vented. We have other trucks with vented tires.
      We’ve just finished gluing a vented set with these donuts fitted and we’ll be trying them out soon.

    That air leak is going out and water gets in. Sealing them is next to impossible. As ypu see the result isnt easy to deal with. Some Treal wheels have an air stem that is a 1.5mm you can take out and equalize pressure with. It doesnt solve the water getting in, but it can mitigate flat spots.

    • @SorryIAteYourCookiesSanta

      Does water cause issues if it gets in?

    • @WreckerRC
      @WreckerRC Před 2 lety

      @@SorryIAteYourCookiesSanta it can cause rust if the inner parts are steel. Most budget wheels have steel center rings.

      I got these from Home Bargains. Cost about £5 I think.

    • @heady2008
      @heady2008 Před 3 lety +1

      It depends where you live. In the Uk most discount chains like B&M Bargains,Home Bargains, Poundstretchers as well as Ebay,Claires Accessories,Boots,Superdrug stock them. The former sell them for £1 each and in different sizes from 70mm to 120mm with 100mm being about right for 120mm 1.9's and 110mm for 130-135mm 2.2's. The fact that they are made out of a spun plastic makes them resistant to water degradation. For heavy rigs like the Traxxas TRX-4 Defender you might want to go larger for a firmer feel

    What size is everyone using? 11.5 cm/4.5 inch?

    • @jairdabrini
      @jairdabrini Před 2 lety

      These ones in the video looks like 130 mm to me bc they look slightly bigger than the tires which i'm also guessing are ca 120 mm here. If you want more comression than he is getting in the video go with a 120 mm hair bun for 120 mm tires etc.

      I'm trying large 10cm ones, for Traxxas Canyon Trail tyres on 1.9" wheels. 8cm I felt were too small, and I had tried 11.5 XL ones, but I found those too big.
