    Cool! That's nice! I miss my days of overhauling. Busy with a Ford Fairlane 500. Tuning and doing all sorts. Cleveland motor. Oil leaks repaired. The previous so called mechanics went and ground down the square piece which the rocker seats in. Beats me why. That type of valve lash is adjusted with the pushrod lengths. I also have a backfire out of the carburettor and checked the distributor already. Have petrol pouring out of the carburettor onto the intake manifold as well. Took the carburettor off now. Want to check up what is the cause. The people are so incompetent and profess to be qualified artisans. Thanks for your interesting videos.

    Good point about the thorough clean as the foundation of the build. I had a 351c crank that came with a block I bought years ago - looked ok, but ran a bit of wire through the oil holes and found wasps had built clay nests in some of them 😱 Can't just trust a hot tanking. Awesome work as usual fella's🙏

    Love the Cleveland. Best Ford small block ever made. 👍👍 2bolt or 4bolt mains? Beautiful motor by the way. Great job guys.

    Why do you set up the valve train with zero lash? Is there any danger of topping out the lifter cup against the circlip?

    Very nice build bro’s
    Is that manifold alloy and if so how does that bracket go for holding the weight of a gearbox attached as well?
    Just curious for when my Clevo comes out
    Cheers Matt

      Works well for holding a motor and box. First we check the threads are good and not damaged and use large washers and make sure the bolts are not bottomed out. If it’s compromised we either get the intake repaired or use a chain with a bolt to either head diagonally with the Carby off.

    What’s your thoughts on sleeving a block? My Cleveland is at 40 over and thinking of sleeves before the next rebuild. I don’t want to get an aftermarket block but good blocks are getting hard to find.

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  Před 4 měsíci

      Sleeves are great they are harder then the cast iron and can help make a bit more power because of better ring sealing properties. It’s around $350 for one sleeve installed so it gets expensive compared to the $1000 odd people ask for a real good std bore block around here

    Do you guys know where to find a 1-piece oil pan gasket for these? Over in the US I cant find one anywhere.

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  Před 4 měsíci +3

      They don’t make a 1 piece for a Clevo unfortunately only for the Windsors

    Just a quick one, you said that you used closed chamber units (302 closed chamber ?) how much compression did you end up with and did you use a flat top or dished piston. Thanks.

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  Před 4 měsíci +1

      We took it from 8.8:1 compression ratio to 9.4:1. We used a flat top pistons and the block decked .005”. The nicely ported 2v closed chamber heads we picked had a fairly laid back chamber to drop the compression a bit and we only decked the heads minimal at .003”

    YO 351C bros ! love the ford dark blue including over the intake . awesome clean, roller rockers , AND roller cam? how did that happen? any special machining? or simple to convert?
    also a strange Question, how hard would it be to get a pair of closed chamber 2v heads to canada?. i hear that would be the best combo for street . good compression and high flow.
    I got a trick for you. I love the holley "annular" 4 v carbs, way better than any carb i tried, for economy [lol 12 mpg?] and best 4 clean power. contact me if you got time. cheers !

    Whats with all the silicone ooze! Whats oozed on the outside is also oozed on the inside, ends up in the radiator tubes and the oil pump pickup. If you want to use silicone thays fine but only a fine smear is needed, just enough to seal any irregularities in the surfaces. Once you see ANY sealant out past the gasket when torqued you have effectively already used too much!

    • @thebrisbanebrothers8332
      @thebrisbanebrothers8332  Před 4 měsíci

      There is a few parts of the motor like the intake China rails that need a bit more silicone then we would like to use but it beats using cork. The Fel pro timing cover gaskets are poorly designed and need a bit extra too

    • @craig8187
      @craig8187 Před 4 měsíci

      @@thebrisbanebrothers8332 definitely a good bead at the valley ends, i never use corks or rubbers either.
      Elsewhere, also with the felpro timing cover gasket, very little is required.
      Intake ports! A test I have done and i encourage you to find someone with a flow bench to show/prove this to you, is flow a head with intake attached and a gasket with no sealer, then seal it up as you have there with a thick bead protruding, there will be the same protruding on the inside obstructing the port opening a little, let it set up then flow the same port again and check out the flow loss from the protruding silicone! You will be very surprised and wont be using that much silicone again!
      I get so many engines thru with the oil pickup chocked with silicone that has broken off over time its really annoying and unnecessary.
      Same for radiator tubes, a good bead of silicone just blocks the top of the tube.
      Not to mention that protruding beads of ooze just look bad. Just ease up on the silicone, other than that good job and channel guys👍
