Wasn't expecting such a comprehensive fix from this video - 30 minutes of fully testing, fixing and checking a donor board which was actually still good, and it's nice to hear that (a) you made a profit, and (b) someone else will be able to use this Switch now!
That was an impressive slog for a good reward. Nice work!
The joy of repairing broken things never gets old! Love the revisits videos. Keep it coming!
Your reaction when the backlight came in was so wholesome. The joy! I could feel it from here 🤗 well done Joey keep it up and keep up the confidence!
Good job Joey! That was a pretty satisfying fix.
Joeeeeyyyy another banger! Keep up the amazing series/content!
Thankyou :) Will do!
Oh my god it was so heart warming to hear that small voice and how happy she was to talk to you🫰
Great Repair and Video! That must have been very satisfying. Thank You.
The best series ever!
More experience and sometimes just refreshed set of eyes and you get it. Great work. Each device is practice and more knowledge keep it up
Thanks :)
Your experience is sure paying off mate..As the old saying goes "with age comes knowledge" gj
What a battle, Joey. Nicely done
Awesome!! As someone who has walked the same path you're walking... I can totally related to that great feeling of fixing something tossed aside a long time ago as unfixable. Keep it up!!!
Nice job! This could use a bath in an ultrasonic cleaner though.
Heat the board, then add IPA and then used compressed air, will clean out the connector wonderfully
My guess for the reason why the fpc connector replacement had something to do with the docking of the switch is that once the switch docks it sends signals to the chips responsible for docking and then it tells the display connector to to turn off so it can show a display on the tv/monitor. Lmk if this makes sense I'm in no way an expert in this but thinking logically it makes sense to me
Nice save Joey!
This was one of the best episode I watch loved it . We need more of revisits I don’t accept losses from you
A good methodical repair. Given you had taken off so many components too. Congrats
Very nice! Love to see you trying to fix the old stuff that was unfixable then. 👌
The dock not working in the first try i think it might've been because you were using the amp meter between the dock and the switch. Maybe the meter does not let the data connection through and when you try it again without the meter it works fine.
Just a theory, but it is easy enough to test thats it's worth a shot.
I'm loving these revisit videos!
that was excellent, really
so much flux! it seems somrone submerged all the bard in a jarr full of flux!
Nice to see you got this previously failed fix to work, just a thought, on Sallys Spreadsheet, did you take off your previous loss when you originally did this board, or was it not originally on there? Just thought it might help with you losses if it was on there, and you hadnt thought of that
i have a switch that docks fine but no screen when off of dock, game card reader doesnt work and right joycon rail will charge joycon but wont dock it
Hi there do u know the value of cap behind power button on xbox series s and is there any of those caps on xbox one or 1s thanks
Happy Saturday! And you know what that means... It's fixing time!
Happy Saturday Vicky! :)
Hey joey my switch lite charges when power is off
But when turned on it just sits at whatever % its at when powered up. Any ideas … The battery goes down quickly when unplugged. I just put a new battery in it. Same results. Im stuck
How did you get your microscope on that arm? I have the same microscope as you and I would like to have it on an arm like that.
Keeping the donor board alive!😂
Yeeees!!!!! GG Joey
@JoeyDoesTech what did you mean earlier in the video that if the max ic is bad you wont mess with it?
Nice, more please :)
You got it! =]
I don’t know about your meter, but my meters stops beeping at 51 in continuity mode. So I’ve gotten out of the habit of only listening to the beep, and actually checking the reading cause I’ve found shorts that have been just out of the range of the meters continuity tone. From what it sounds like, you listen for the beep only as well.
Don't mind a longer video like this one.
Fingers crossed you get a good day
Nice recovery! 👍
14:42 4th gap from the left also looked bridged
I look forward to the endless chain of "Joey fixes a donor board with a second donor board, then fixes that second donor board with a third, then fixes the third..."
it is amazing when you take a piece of crap and make it a former working console again.
Great job Joey, you’ll be back in the green before you know it 😀👍
Great video again 👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome 🎉
refurbish laptops too like over heating issues and other things i wanna to see laptops repair
I'm just getting into tech repairs. Been scammed a few times already with components missing. On a side note. What would be a good starter scope for me as I'm using a jewellers loupe at the moment and it's not easy. I don't want to buy cheap and nasty but also don't want to spend above the odds.
Maybe you can’t use the meter while docking
That housing had some rough times..🤣
It's seen some things 😂😂
@@JoeyDoesTech ……..😂😂
Come on man... We know the secret, early Banana reference!
Enjoy your videos but what you are reading on the usb monitor is mA NOT mAh

Come on joey, it’s your day.
You should try to fix samsung watches
It's so dumb that everyone has to credit Northridge Fix for the "solid" phrase.
Nobody has to do that.
@@fadetonoir6152 Northridge Fix made a big deal about it and actually copyright flagged a bunch of channels saying he had done it first.
i could swear it was stez who made it solid
i cant believe that guy came with such bs, he cant fix a dam thing, i saw him solder a usb port in the wrong direction and then blame the owner of the device, he knows nothing apart from repeat things like he has too many 4090 with molten connectors, he was paid to do those warranties
@@betag24cn he knows a lot. That's just silly, everyone makes mistakes. Alex is running a business so it makes sense he's going to be working on high turnaround items. And no it wasn't Stez, Alex was doing solid before Stez even started his channel. The reason Stez adds the deep tone to his was because of Alex complaining about other creators using it.
@@thadofalltrades Really? Over the word solid? Were any videos actually taken down because of it?
I was the 1k person to watch this fix 😅
🎮
More like trying to fix a bonor doard HA
Please stop saying "milliamp hours". The current draw at a moment in time is measured in milliamps.
