Gets 1p in profit "and that's a wrap for season 1 of profit and loss, join us next week for season 2" 😂
Hope you left appropriate feedback for them as too many people are selling "untested" consoles knowing that they are scrap as they've tried to fix with no skills..
Nice to see things turning around dude. Good save.
18:00 loved that reference to TronicsFix!! Lmao
Glad to see some profit after that streak of losses, keep it up!
I like the new thumbnail style. Nice to see you growing and getting bigger. Hope for some profit.
What a fantastic episode today always look forward to these.
I'm astounded that PS5 is working, that liquid metal everywhere was like a conductive horror movie. This series is so much fun and gave me the confidence to work on my own Switch and other trickier soldering.
I'd love a quick guide video or two on things you've learned, like the right tip for different jobs, using a multimeter to troubleshoot, maybe top 10 helpful items on your bench. So many guides assume existing experience, whereas you started from square one and we've been on that journey with you.
Great ideas! Thankyou :)
Nice to see green again Joey. I've never seen a Ps5 like this wow and amazing it still works just wow. Great content
Great result Joey and a lesson in never giving up. Sally will be pleased !
Well done Joey, I think you've turned the corner now and are on a winning streak
Love it! Never thought I would subscribe to a channel with a guy who just solders over and over, but I keep coming back for more.
At the end of this season, you should make a bill listing with the unfixable items and sell them as a lot, then add the sale price to the total season P&L.
Keep it up Joey, only been watching for 9 months but your skills have taken leaps and bounds in that time alone.
Thankyou, appreciate that a lot :) That sounds like a great idea, but would take ALOT of work haha.
Love your content keep up the amazing work!
Not sure if you do controller repairs but yesterday I purchased a Red PS5 controller from Cash Converters in Shirley, Southampton (knowing you are fairly local) for £20 that had a R2 issue where it wasn't working and within 15 minutes of disassembling to check for physical issue where there wasn't and then reassembling to find that the R2 was actually working fine.
Whilst I love my Xbox Elite series 2 controller this £20 PS5 controller is a great addition where they normally sell for around £40-£50 secondhand.
I was so overwhelmed by this fix "Oh yes!! Nice one!" Just hit me. Finally a fix after all those bad luck items and it was the worst of all.. crazy!
Try a solder sucker for liquid metal, put a bit of tissue in it, that should get it from under chips/between caps/etc.
I'm so glad you made it this time, I told you in the previous video that it wouldn't last. I wish you the next video even more profit. 🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic video! This is the start of good things mate :) well done!!!!
Oh yes!! Nice one!
I have done a lot of Gamegear's, MD2's, and SNES's, and my hit rate is about 70%. The Game Gear is particularly bad for faulty displays and spares are very hit and miss unless you go with something like a McWill then you get very few people who will stump up the money when they are done - that launchpad should be a simple fix
I'm shocked how calm you are after flooding your motherboard with liquid metal you make great videos!
A step in the right direction! Cheers
Happiest moments in life: 3) your team wins the FA cup; 2) your wedding day; 1) Joey fixes the impossibly wrecked PS5 and actually makes some money 😛
😂😂😂
The SOC on the Switch is married to the nand. You can use donor prod keys, but that would require you installing a mod chip. The donor prod keys would cause the device to be banned from using internet connected services.
Pleased you finally made a profit can’t wait to see you on the up now 🎉
Joey, that PS5 was a miracle resurrection!
Im Glad to see Profit!
I commented before that I bought the ammeter through your links. Great piece of kit!
Oh amazing! Thanks for the support :)
Good to see a profit on that PS5, I thought it was a total goner after seeing the condition of the liquid metal! Methinks part of the liquid metal was shorting components together, which is why it is better to use thermal paste instead (even if it has worse cooling abilities). IMO, Sony should have designed this console to use thermal paste instead.
Also, I guess the replacement parts were taken from donor consoles that were recently from minus episodes?
C’mon Joey, we’re all pulling for you!
Am glad your luck is chaining 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nice luck... I'm glad to see some profit :D
Great job
Congrats man!
Great video!
Certain model PS5s had an issue with the liquid metal leaking out the seal and shorting consoles out. I never use liquid metal in any of the PC builds or console refurbishments I do.
Great video Joey 👍
Thanks mate ❤️
"2 days ago" - I watch your videos, but they haven't been sending me notifications until after a couple days. Just wanted to let you know that my view count comes late, but I'm still here :)
Great save Joey!😁
Just wondering if you could use a vacuum to draw out spilled liquid metal?
Keep up the great work 😀👍
You got incredibly lucky. Congratulations!
I have a CPU that has all of it's corners broken off (Really bad!) and it works.
Yesss, I was hoping you'd upload a video today! Hopefully you'd be able to make Sally Spectacular Spreadsheet happy today!
sally is always happy plus or minus lol
YOU DID IT!!!!!
the PS5 owner saw the damage ,stressed out and chewed his nails lol .
I felt the pain in this video
Joey being t-rex at the start might be good luck
Yes dude finally a win, GG, keep it up Yeeesssss
Rooting for a profit this time!
Yes! You did it! I believe you are at the beginning of a comeback.
Really love the new thumbnail
My order of the anti-static gloves arrived this week, deffo need to get a size larger next time
Nice work on the PS5, I really hope the new PS5 "Slims" don't use liquid metal.
I cracked a gpu corner years agao putting a non oem cooler on a gpu, not nearly as bad as that chip, and it gave me graphical errors on screen, was a lesson learned
I feel like it's a serious design flaw that the liquid metal can escape like that if the console is dropped.
Join the club, I've been doing appliance and computer repair for thirty years and there's only so much you can do with planed obsolescence and user abuse.
Can liquid metal be removed with an ultrasonic bath (with special product)? GG for the repair ;)
Honestly liquid metal is damn good but at the same time super annoying when it spills or gets places it shouldn't be.
Did you see my comment on the previous video telling you what the missing component is? In case you didn't, U5 is a 5 pin mosfet marked ID8242. Please go and fix it... 🙂
It was time for a win!
What's the matter, Jason and/or not Jason? What the matter with James? Is Kirk mad about William Butler Yeats?! I don't know. Namastè.
lord above with that PS5 I didn't even think it was fixable nice work on fixing it shame about the switch lite though
I’m crossing my fingers for you Joey 🤞🏾
Congrats joey and I hadn’t watched the video when I said I was crossing my fingers.
Man, that PS5 had seen some shit jeez. Great job Joey!!
holy, my jaw dropped when you flipped that ps5 board
My life flashed before my eyes!
14:33 -- Oof, that's rough
19:22 -- No way did you pull this off
Well done!
Thank god you managed to fix it joey when I saw all that Liquid Metal I thought it was game over
Is liquid metal magnetic? , must be a way to clean up faster if it was..
Wow, the PS5 was really a mess. Looks to me that the spilling was not only from the drop damage but they added/replaced the liquid metal and used way to much.
liquid metal is real messy even if you know how to handle it
Nice video's, very interesting. Could you use compressed air to blow out the liquid metal from underneath the components?
Did you end up leaving that small bit of liquid metal under the apu?
APU & EMMC can be replaced and will work again :)
Do you have a multimeter suggestion? I don't see that tool linked
"I need you to cross your fingers" haha guess what I instinctively did straight away
That PS5 was rough lol. There's a reason I'm not a big fan of using liquid metal with consumer products haha
ok, now I'm pretty sure this is a parody channel.
Looks like a T1000 blew it's load all over that board.
Fixing. Broken EBay. Electronics for. Profit. Profit. Or. Loss. S1E37
Holy… that this ps5 is running is insane. But that’s why I only get stuff that wasn’t open before 😆
I wouldn't feel comfortable selling that board with the liquid metal under the APU. That's just asking for trouble.
At least your spreadsheet is looking better than mine (my supplies also get added too though)
Would an ultrasonic cleaner help with removing liquid metal on the ps5?
Woooohoooooo!!!!!
A cracked corner is not always a dead CPU. Had some cracked corners in the crystal in older AMD cpu´s. sometimes no problem. If the crack is not to big, it should be fine.
I'm here in the comments early (before finishing the video) looking for a link to the shop with the cotton buds...
Joey luv ya from across the pond……buy some mega drives( sega genesis)…… $30 us …. Fixed the sell for $80us……. It would be fun f anything
MY share mate
The Nintendo lites are so cheaply made. I highly the palkia edition beginning of this year and I hated the feel of it. Sold it and bought the 32GB switch for an extra £100 and it’s totally worth it. Especially since you can hook it up to your tv.
When you least expect it 🤣
you know it's real because it's impossible to make extended profit
whew, you were getting close to having to sell Sally
JSC has a nice ring to it Joey, how much for 100 cotton buds, I'm typing this at the start of the video so I don't know the outcome yet, hope it goes well though
After video post, that PS5 was bad, but also very good, well done Joey not a complete loss,
Awesome! I thought you were fkd with that Liquid Metal but clearly your dedication to Sally and The Cotton Buds pushed you through. So pleased for you
Go on Joey
Wait a second... So... If my ps5 was broken, i could still get ~200€ for it? I always assumed that old electronics just are meant to get thrown away :o
Yeah faulty ones sell quite well!
oh my days that ps5 😵💫
Result
I’d buy your cotton buds if it all goes tits up mate 😂
RESULT! (Read this with My Mate Vince's voice) 😂
Wohooooo!
