    You're the man. Thanks for a great video. I have been looking for a winch bumper for awhile, but like you, I like the capable bumper. I didn't want to lose the fog lights and switch as you pointed out. I've seen you in the chats, and just subscribed. On a side note, thanks for the info on the radio switch. I've always hit the start button for accessories. I love just pushing the radio button now. Keep up the great content.

    My Capable Bumper was crooked from the factory as well, exactly the same as yours, tight on passenger side, lower on drivers side. Very interested in this, was contemplating trying this so perfect timing!

    I love the Rough Country hidden winch mount, it doesn't require you to move the camera if you have one, plus is lower i think it looks good.

    Thanks for this! Followed step by step and after 4 hours (including the hacksaw and dremeling) it's installed!

    Awesome video, I personally think you did better than ford mechanic on modular bumper. I plan on doing this on my capable bumper

    Nice video! For anyone who wants a winch on the capable bumper who has adaptive cruise and parking sensors JCR makes a winch mount and camera relocation that works great!

    @getpower1 Před 10 měsíci +3

    Funny, my capable bumper was installed crooked too. Except the opposite way. Tighter on the drivers side than the passenger side.
    On another note, for notching the bumper for the bracket would it have been possible to just cut the bumper with some good tin snips and roll the edge in? Or is it some stouter metal than it looks like?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 10 měsíci

      The metal itself isn’t super stout, but it is formed a bit right along that edge, which definitely adds some rigidity to it.
      A good pair of tin snips could definitely cut into it, I just don’t know if it could cut deep enough to achieve what needs to be done.

    Another great video and addition to your Bronco! Did you consider powering the winch from an aux switch?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 10 měsíci +1

      None of the Aux switch lines have a thick enough wire to directly power the winch-wire gauges are just too small. But, I could potentially add a high-powered relay, and trigger that relay from the Aux switch. That is definitely possible.
      At some point I'm going to hook up a multimeter and see what the power draw is when the winch is not operational. WARN may have already solved this problem for us... perhaps the winch doesn't actually turn on until the controller is connected-not sure. But if there is a substantial power draw from the winch when it isn't operational, I'll add a relay and control it with the Aux switch.

    MileMarker Industries has the Mission Winch available in custom colors to match the Bronco. 8k,10k and 12k capacities.

    I see you all the time on Tims member channel and I just got my Bronco Black Diamond from LM. I have the same bumper and your vid was awesome; not sure if I have all them tools or skill set to do what you did; but it is the best option although that Ford kit is pricey. TY

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I do have a fair amount of tools throughout the years that I've collected to make the job easier... but all your really need:
      - Metric deep-socket set with sides ranging from 8mm to 15mm
      - Torque wrench that can torque up to ~85 lbs-ft
      - Dremel, or some other rotary tool, with a metal cutting disk
      The fairlead is the only piece that needs SAE sizes, but you can probably make it work a metric socket and a crescent wrench.

    You went for the big expensive warn winch, great winch but overpriced. I have had a Smittybuilt on my Xterra, and now Harbor Freight has a great “Badlands” winch which is awesome. Great for my “Badlands” Bronco. I have the modular bumper. I used the JCOffroads mount with the camera relocation mount.
    I will tell you this. No one makes a winch mount that is stronger and more heavy duty then the one from JCOffroad.

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 10 měsíci

      The JCR Offroad winch didn't provide any additional bracing or support for the frame horns which is why I didn't go with that option. There have been several reports of bent frame extensions/horns when using aftermarket winch mounts. Admittedly most of them were with the Rough Country mount, but the Rough Country and JCR mounts bolt to the frame in a very ways.
      There are ways to reinforce that area of the Bronco with some additional metal plates, and yes that would have been much cheaper overall. But Ford's winch kit already includes the necessary reinforcements which is why I went that route.

    • @texasgrillchef8581
      @texasgrillchef8581 Před 10 měsíci

      @@RagnarKon I absolutely agree with you. The JCRoffroad mount is made specifically for the modular bumper. Which you don’t have. There is a difference between how both mount.

  • @PhuVet

    Adaptive cruise control is why it wont work. You need to relocate it.

    Where did you get the instructions for putting it on. Im seriously thinking of doing this but would like the instructions.

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 10 měsíci

      I used the official instructions from the Ford Performance's website.
      The instructions are intended for people with the HD modular bumper, so you'll have to adjust as necessary for the capable bumper. (This video should help fill in those blanks.)

  • @djkilpatrick5256

    You mentioned the winch is on all the time. Does your bronco not have the aux switches up top?

    • @RagnarKon
      @RagnarKon  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I have the Aux switches, it's just not connected to the winch.
      I would need to install a high-power relay, which is definitely possible, it just wasn't included in the winch kit from Ford.
      It probably will never be an issue. The Everglades trim comes with a factory winch and a factory Aux switches, and it doesn't have a relay to cut power to the winch either. It's hooked up the exact same way I have it hooked up.
