  • As meteors touch down all over the Europe, humanity quickly becomes overwhelmed by a species that appears sentient, but at the same time, they also behave like a hive. As this species overwhelms Earths defense force, that being humans, one man is exposed to an event that allows him to be taken out, but come back to life the day previous to learn from the events that come later. As it becomes clear it has something to do with species blood and the hive mind, he learns how to survive before ultimately going after the leader. I am writing this massively hungover so if that doesnt make any sense, just watch the video lol. Anyhow lets discuss how this works!

Like the Chief, within the bounds of the story, was just well equipped, properly supported and skilled enough to get through the challenges he faced. If the Chief actually had the canon power that Cage has or if even it was just Cage waking up woke up on the Pillar of Autumn you’d see the covenant fleet exploding over the halo, the flood obliterated while they were still sitting in a bunch of fancy forerunner test tubes and high charity burning before the humans or the covenant really knew what was happening.

I feel like it more likely that quantum superposition along the time axis is being utilized as information is sent to the past version of the organism. The end could be the case that the omega’s dead state is as sent back in time through Tom cruse’s character. This then could have have overlapped the currently alive version causing a deadly feed back loop as it was actively trying to loop into the future rather than past offing itself in the process

Fun video. I honestly went to check to see if I had left the game running from the music. I recommend you read the Book it was based on "All you need is kill". They were not organisms, they are terraforming nanites that were sent to xenoform the planet. The "combat" forms we see were just a result of us the indigenous life fighting back. The temporal manipulation was just because it was so costly and expensive a project it couldnt fail etc. But not organisms, machines following their orders. Book did not have an Omega.

I definitely recommend the original novel, All You Need is Kill. Much better in every catagory. The aliens are actually explained as basically nanomachine constructs intended to terraform (or I guess xenoform) Earth, started in the ocean and were basically forced to evolve into barrel bodied starfish creatures in order to fight humans and complete the terraforming. The movie really just took some of the names and most basic concepts of the plot and used them to make a pretty generic Sci-fi action vehicle for Tom Cruise.

Movie is definitely not generic. Especially compare to other live action movies/series which had tried to adapt anime/manga but failed miserably.
And most importantly, this movie stands on its own which alot of movies/series struggles to making it a solid sci-fi movie.

FINALLY ❤ I have waited like 4 years for a Edge of Tomorrow mimic video. It was awesome. Super great job! Of just about any Sci Fi film, the concept of the Mimic has been the most fascinating to me. I loved it. I wouldn't say more to mimic theories. I haven't considered mimics coming from a water based evolution, for me it felt like they were in a constant flux of time and space so much so that they were unable to maintain a constant physical form. But your explanation makes more sense lol. Crazy how their species seemed to have evolved with such a different organism as the Omega which could manipulate time and space compared to the ant-like drones.

The best way to think of this type of time travel, is a checkpoint system from a video game. It’s less time travel and more so a time jump.
The Omega has set a point in time before the invasion, the thing being able to plan ahead and fix any errors in the invasion. It’s trying it’s best to keep its best units alive, aka, it’s save scumming like in an RTS.
This is why there is no time paradox, as since it’s simply reloading an old save, there is no other time stuff going on. Just a single timeline with one save file

There are a few things I wish Roanoke went over in this video. For one, the Mimics seem to be composed of obsidian crystals and have a very high internal body temperature, hence why when the alpha's blood first fell on Cruz's character it burned through his body. I can feasibly see them as having evolved underwater, but it would be interesting trying to explain the exact reason why they're crystalline in appearance and have such a high internal temperature in the first place. My theory? They're silicon based life forms with an incredibly fast metabolism, which is why they're able to move at the speeds they do and why their blood is scalding hot. It really lends to the feel of them being completely alien, almost moreso than their strange ability to hop through time Whenever they're on the brink of losing. Almost.

I think it’d make for an interesting video and a fun watch for you.

32:24 i think that may be because the omega routinely "anchors" itself to a point in time, and that's what it resets to, not to "the day before" and it just so happens that was the last anchor it had placed, so when it died it may have sucessfully restarted the day with it's dying breath, however, the sensory shock of having died in the future killed the omega in the past the moment time was reset, hence the energy surge they detected.

It could work like copy pasting across timelines, so its not that time is actually reset, but that all tye memories of one instance are then telepathically transmitted across to another to a predetermined point. So if an onega detects an alpha dies it just downloads everything from every connected drone and alpha and forwards it to another instance of itself in an alternate timeline to try again. Like an old rts where you restart the save but now know where the spawns are each time.
