Wow what a wonderful guide. It helped me understand the steps and thought process of making digital art, when it comes to drawing I have mostly stuck to paper so this was very helpful. Adorable cactus too ^_^ Thank you!!

Hello john, your tutorials are very helpful!! But can you make animation with that on ipad?? Maybe using some apps like after effect but on ipad. That would be great if you make the tutorials next.. Thanks!!

I use affinity designer and as far as I know you can’t use it to animate. But there are tools like procreate, Krita, and Clip Stuio Paint you can use for animation on the iPad. Each one has their strengths and weaknesses so look into each one or others to see what works for you. Hope I was helpful ❤

i've had ipad for a week and still can't find the gradient toolbar in affinity designer ipad. i'm trying to find the option panel that lets you chose type of gradient, ie, radial, cone. so far i've only been able to do linear gradients. in learning the ipad, its often very seemingly obvious details that can make an easy task difficult. i checked affinity help, they say click the gradient tool bar. the million dollar question, where is the toolbar. for sure, once i find it, i'll click on it.

wow, just found it. in the context tool bar. in case anyone else can't find it: make sure designer personal is activated, then make a shape, activate the icon that looks like a paint bucket in the tool bar on the left. draw a gradient, then in the context bar at the top next to the little circle icons, select elliptical or whatever type of gradient you like. is there a way to separate tool bars, to make them floating into whatever position you like?
