- Brian surprised Alec with a trip to the beautiful country of the Dominican Republic! This felt like the trip where everything kinda went wrong from the beginning starting with the delays, but all in all it was a great trip and we would definitely do it again!

He saw a stranger and decided to get something out of you. That is what we should know the basic language in Spanish when we were in school we didn't learn Spanish but now that we have grown older and we decide to travel to these places we do need it now.
Nice impromptu trip! Despite the issues you encountered, the two of you collectively handled them like the dynamic duo that you are! Kudos to the good samaritan that went the extra mile t,o get your debit card back to you! DR is beautiful and waking up to oceanside views is my ideal way to relax and unwind. That was something I learned not so quick was NOT to put my credit card in the same pocket as my phone. The card drops out almost every time. I lost my card twice, luckily both times in the office at work. After the 2nd time, I did it a few more times and immediately picked it up. Then I realized something had to change.

Glad you made it safe home. Unfortunately, 24 hours is not enough. Santo Domingo has a lot of beautiful places to visit. There’s a lot of history, beaches, cuisine etc. Hope one day you can visit with more time. Dominican Republic has a lot of different places to visit. A lot of folks only talk about Punta Cana and they are missing out on so much more. I was born there but raised in USA and each year I try to visit a different area getting to know my homeland more and more.
The are the trips and moments you will cherish and laugh about in years to come. Thx for sharing and being able to laugh about it.
Also, I love how you still are making special moments for each other.

Alec I put my debit card in my pocket with my phone and it came out at the grocery store dropped when I pulled my phone out, and someone turned it into the customer service desk, so just know it happens to the best of us lol. DR is a vibe really. I nonrev and work it a lot … feel at home lol like Alec said 😂. I also had my cc fell out in restroom and the guy behind me followed me to give back, so good ones are out there 🙏 I don’t drive there, I know a guy he drives me and my friends around and if he can’t make it he got drivers etc. .. you should ask for English menus ( they have them available)

I love the DR and go there frequently. I also frequently go to Boca Chica. I am not familiar with the restaurant you attended. I usually go to an area that is frequented by the locals and the wait staff speak English.

Stayed here before and just around the corner have some really good restaurants that are very affordable with good Dominican food. Also you are very close to Zona Colonial which is the historical district. However l hate the traffic outside the hotel if you want to cross the road to walk along the water

You got scammed in that restaurant. Part of the menu should be written in English. I thought you had a three course meal with dessert and coffee. When you can't speak the language some people can take advantage of you.
