Hey Bob....Using the puller the wrong way, Tighten the puller as you did then give the end of the main puller "bolt" a few sharp hits with the hammer. That should start the pulley moving, retighten the centre bolt and hit it some more, the pulley will usually just fall off.

Have been working on various machines for decades and this appears to be a not that uncommon issue with a splined belt sprocket, have fought this game before and the best fix is grease the splines every so often. What is happening is the Sprocket is working on the shaft basically slowly grinding any dirt that works it's way between the shaft and pulley and the softest material will wear away, the pulley. Grease will do 2 things, 1. lubricate the contact points thus reducing wear, 2. the lube keeps crap out of the workings thus greatly reducing the wear. Many belt drive motorcycles etc... have this issue.

Just a few notes. Look up my post about this in the Facebook Group F3 SpyderLovers. It seems I should have used this stuff: www.amazon.ca/Loctite-234227-LOC51048-Anti-Seize-Compound/dp/B001HWBSJW and also there are better type of pullers such as this one www.amazon.ca/ARES-43-Piece-Harmonic-Balancers-Crankshaft/dp/B07FWHBWVN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ARES+71000-43-Piece+Harmonic+Balancer+Puller+Set+-+Use+with+Harmonic+Balancers%2C+Steering+Wheels%2C+Crankshaft+Pulleys+and+Gears+-+Works+with+Most+Cars%2C+Pickups%2C+and+SUVs&qid=1607044131&sr=8-1

don't try to pull or bang on sprocket, if you don't have force completely even, you can damage the shaft. Do it correctly with pulley, not bang with hammer.
