Here's my full-out tutorial on how I make Kemper profiles with the Kemper Profiling Amp! Maybe it's plain, maybe there are some unique steps, but I like the results I get with this process and I use the profiles all the time.
If you want to check out those JHS profiles, they are available on my Patreon! Check it out for some cool additional backing tracks and extra hang time!

How do you profile differently? Does anyone run some serious outboard gear before their profile?

I made some great direct profiles running it through my suhr reactive load. But everyone on the Kemper forum told me I’m not supposed to use a load box per Kemper. Not sure how else this would be accomplished.

Very cool, I didn't know the Kemper could profile a pedal. Makes sense though.

Yeah I've been trying it out with a couple of different things, like profiling a preamp-plugin, or profiling some pedals like you saw. The sky is really the limit as long as its got an input and an output (and it sounds good.) BUT I've heard the Quad Cortex can properly profile a pedal, and add it in to a chain as if it were an installed effect. Going to check out the QC tonight and report back!

I have a question: Let’s supposed that you made a copy of the amp’s sounds with all tone knobs at 5. Will Kemper know how the amp would sound with the knobs set, say, at 9? Or will it just “guess” how the amp would sound with different settings?

Hey man, back when I made this video, the Kemper would apply a universal EQ to the profile, similar to what a plugin would do if you added an EQ to a track. In the last few months Kemper came out with liquid profiling, which uses a preset model of a specific amplifier to more accurately change how the amp would sound if you did what you are saying. Only downside is there aren't too many models available yet.
