Two days later...a broken man.
These Kempers are awesome pieces of engineering. I'm always impressed when I see a side by side comparison with the real thing. And I can totally understand why a touring musician will leave his beloved (vintage) tube-heads at home and go on tour with a Kemper.
IrrSinn Rainer Add the Kemper foot controller and your entire rig can be carried in a single bag. It’s quite liberating. Less cable mess on stage too.
Totally unrelated, but I dig the pulled back fro. I’m bald af, so it’s all about the beard game here and seeing your hair gives me the “I wish” feeling, lol.
Had AxeFxIII for months now and compared to Kemper. No doubt now Kemper is still the best. Kind of upset because I always go back to Kemper... but want new product...!!!! Because!

Never thought of getting a kemper from being a tube amp advocate all the way, but now im really considering it because of all the amps i can get without worrying about if they go out of production before i get the chance to get them
I've got one and couldn't go back to a normal amp. I've got Dumbles, Two Rocks, Mesas, Marshalls on speed dial. It's been a game changer for me.
Given a choice, I would pick all the tube amps in the world with pedals but I don have all the money in the world..so a kemper is great! Haha it’s no tube amp but it’s good
I had a few tube heads and combos and used the Two Notes Torpedo Studio, but wanted a more mobile option and decided to take the Kemper plunge.
Now I don't own any of my tube amps or the Two Notes Studio. It's unbelievably amazing. Please note the Kemper is only as good as the profiles you're using. Spend the money on good profiles and you'll be set forever. It's also a bit of a steep-ish learning curve. There's lots of good youtube videos out there (tone junkie does great stuff on the kemper and their profiles are incredible as well). It's super convenient from recording at home to playing live, all I need to do is carry my toaster.

Omg after 2 days of slaving away gulping down the coffee and generally not seeing daylight...that profile process would cause me to need serious medication...such dedication. You are next level for sure.

Use a phase meter in Logic or PT or whatever your DAW is. Then you know for sure you're in phase.

Nice little demo vid. A Kemper's been in my list of things to get forever. I dunno why exactly, but this tone clone stuff has always fascinated me. It's crazy how close or even indistinguishable a lot of new profiles are when compared to the real amp. Related: they should make a software version and get more users that way. Kemper VST/AU/AAX all the way. LOL Cheers

You could also use plugins like Little Labs IBP or Waves InPhase to further adjust phase or even cancel out some unwanted rumble

I like the look of the Grossman Audio SG-Box Speaker Iso Cab too, which would be a great tool for making your own speaker impulse responses and Kemper Profiles \m/

I recently bought a chapman ML3 (your signature model Baritone) and I'm very happy, it sounds great on a Mesa Triple Crown, but can you tell me what is the tuning what's on your demo and pulling ropes? I do not know how it was granted original? (she was bought new at Thomann because I live in France)
Did you ever use your Torpedo or Ox instead of cabs for profiling? Would be interesting as a silent and maybe even more consistently reliable and manageable alternative.
will you PLEASE do one of these for getting your tone on Boss Katana? I just got one and all the tones people have made who claim to have "Bea" tone are useless. Help??????????

Be well worth comparing the Kemper profiles to the Mooer Preamp Live profiling/tone match. I just ordered the Mooer but I don't have access to a Kemper lel.

Can I use a noise gate in the loop of the reference amp while profiling in high gain situations? Marshall JVMs are real noisy amps and I don't know if I need to have the amp in high volume while profiling.
I would love to try these out... where can I get them from?

Great video Rabea! I always wondered how profiles are created. It seems like a very lengthy process requiring lots of patience. How is your standpoint on "Amp Piracy"? I heard Dave Friedman say that he thinks profiling an amp and selling the profile is a sort of piracy, basically a little like napster for amps.
Haha yeah it is an arduous process at times.
Well I guess my opinion is similar to DF, however as I work for Victory Amps, and they’ve asked me to make a Kemper profile pack of Victory amps, I’d say they’re either not precious at all, or they’re just smart hahah
if you were only using 2 microphones you could use the BAE 1073MPF Dual with Steve Stevens summing mod

You said it had a G12H-65...do you mean a G12M-65 or a G12H-75?
I know people usually pair V30s with the H-75 but I’m curious how it would sound against an M-65

So let’s say you wanted to get the tones that he made in the video. Does he sell them on the website and you can download them? I’m still a little confused on how you get the amp tones/amps onto your own Kemper .

Please excuse my ignorance, and I do sort of get the technical stuff you're doing with the whole set-up and signal chain, but do you just pick up a guitar and noodle around with it for awhile to record the original amp tone, or is there something more methodical in the process I'm missing?
The Kemper itself acts as a signal generator which feeds into the amp being modeled. This makes it really easy for it to compare what it gets back with what it sent out.

I still dont really understand how you actually get to match the sound to a real amp...
do you just start on the Kemper with an amp sim, like a plug-in or GarageBand and then tweak it from there so it sounds like your Kraken? Sry, I’m still confused haha
Bullnec no. The selected rig doesn't influence profiling. Kemper sends some signals through the amp, either including cab and mic, or just through amp, the resulting tone goes back to kemper and a "snapshot" of the amp is created. Then you can "refine" (play some guitar), which usually matches the tone closer.
Now I want one so I can just profile all my friends amps....then ILL have ALL THE AMPS😳

For the love of ___. I wish people would default to making merged profiles so we could use them with our traditional guitar cabinets. Disabling the cab in a studio profile just isn’t the same. We NEED those direct profiles. 😭
