  • HW and Mbritt chat about profiling at home and what people need profile their own amps. It's all pretty simple but if you have never tried to profile your own amp at home, its fun and can yeild some pretty usable results.
    We'll have a new site up in couple days to download the profile we created today and a bunch of other freebies! Stay Tuned!

    I just profiled my 1960’s Harmony H400. First profile I’ve ever done and I’m pretty pleased with it! I really appreciate the in depth tutorial, especially with The Godfather himself, Michael Britt.

    I really like the Kemper Show Content....keep it coming!!! I have a bunch of Kemper Profiles from pretty much every major profiler and MBritt and ToneJunkie are the ones I use the most so it is great to see you both working together for the Kemper Community. HW, loving the new 57 Bandmaster...sounds incredible! Mbritt, you alluded to some new guitar profiles in the works in episode #1 I believe, congrats on the new bass pack, looking forward to the next guitar pack!

    I had the privilege to be in on a comparison of The Strymon Iridium and the Kemper. We all agreed there was no winner sound wise. Yes the Kemper has endlessly more features. But ! We all felt that if you wanted a serious sound on a budget nothing else comes close for pure sound.In short start on the Strymon and when budget dictates move straight up to the very top. The Kemper!!!

      im with you 100%. the room knob is the best "effect" available, I really hope they don't make 4 versions of iridium ,ex metal , ambient, rock , jazz. and just do random updates that let you put any 3 amps you want...they have to recreate more amps ..!!

    Hi, congrats for the show! I use to own an AX8, great sound, but I sold it because the Fm3 was suppose to come out soon...wrong guess. Anyway, I'm thinking of buying the Kemper Stage : Allow me a question: what's the difference between the Ax8 IRs and the Kemper profiles in quality and realism, if there is any. Thank you!

    i dont like a stored compressor in the profile, cause of the dynamic. i allways deactivate the comp in all TJ Profiles. Thanks for the Kemper Editor!

  • @dracul74

    I think you should demo a few more approaches (next week :). Example, I like to start by recording an audio clip in my daw... then profile... then eq the profile to match the audio clip. Also I use different mic, preamps and cabs. Sure you can get great profiles as is, but often I find the preamp and cab provide the secret sauce to a profile that is kept vs discarded

  • @weedywet
    @weedywet Před 4 lety +2

    worth mentioning that the Kemper does not have phantom power if you want to use a condenser mic

    • @samchoate1719
      @samchoate1719 Před 3 lety

      That is a good point. What would happen if you put a small powered mixer in line to supply phantom power to the mic then ran a line out to the Kemper?

  • @ronaldmorales1368

    Awesome episode! When I profile a clean DRRI, the profile only shows up with amplifier and no cabinet. Have you seen that happen before? I made sure not to select no cabinet.

    Question from a non kemper owner, why don’t you see more direct profiles (profiles with no cabs). As an ir user it would make sense toAnd I’ll be able to swap the cabs and mikes easily

    How would using a Waza TAE or an Ox Box as opposed to a mic work for profiling?

    Ok this is really good content but there is One thing I‘d like to know. How do you hear the Kemper in the room (cause the Princeton has its own speaker) ? Do you have an FRFR or and sort of cab?
    Greetings from Germany 😊

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr Před 4 lety +1

      Con Nix we are running the Valvetrain cab behind us relatively low volume

      @albertoundo400 Před 4 lety

      lonegtr thx for the reply!!! So you use the powered Kemper and connect the cab with the speaker Output of the Kemper? Maybe thats worth to mention in some upcoming videos of that Kemper Show. 😉

    There was no mention of the actual knob settings on the Princeton Reverb. Do these Princeton Reverb amp settings not matter in profiling? Can the knob settings be ignored?

  • @martywags4505

    In all fairness what happens ALOT is someone will make a profile, dial it in at rehearsal, thru their speaker cab, and it'll sound Great in the room. And not take into consideration what IS NOW coming out of their main outs, The usual result is a thin shrill with a loose bottom (depending on which cabinet they've chosen). That is why a lot of sounds men say "oh no sorry I'm miking (Spelling ??) your cab" and then the (guitarist) protests and a "pissing contest ensues. REMENBER that sound man has your BALLS in this hands ! Need I say more ? Well ,yes Marty then what do you do that gets them to use the main out? I explain to the person (and do it with the utmost respect in my voice (non-confrontational) that I dialed in my main output in my recording studio thru a pair of ear destroyer monitors The infamous" Yamadog NS-10s" THEN at rehearsal dial in my cab with the Monitor EQ. Done! Everybody's Happy..... Usually.. sometimes people just don't get along. Oh and b4 you poo poo it.... give it a try! AND remember this shit is definitely and always subjective! Disclosure: I use a Dr Z 11 ply marine birch 2X12 semi open back StangRay 2X12 Celestion Golds wired for 4 Ohms and I have the toaster w/class D 600 watt amp

    Does it affect the profile if there are background noises (like talking) while profiling? It has to, right?

    Stay away form those two clowns here. NO, absoultely NO serious studio in the world uses this fake producet. This will nevere sound good in a mix, and nothing can replace a tube ampo, that is a fact. I been in bussiness for 30 years !!!!!!

    • @orangerecords_studio
      @orangerecords_studio Před 3 lety

      @@ToneJunkieTV NO! It is non of the serious onew, this is a fake product, nothing more. The complexity and the sweet harmonics from a tube amp, can not, in any way be "replicated" with this toy !

      @@orangerecords_studio Well ok dude, we have tons and tons of great tones across out CZcams channel and many happy customers including Grammy award winning producers and guitar players who have purchased out profiles. I’m not name dropping out of respect for them, but I have had first hand conversation with well known artists and producers. It’s just a fact dude, lots of people using digital solutions these days.
      Have a good one!
