Mr Doctoring See while agree with you, you messed up when you said "comics/shows." No matter how much is established in the original shows and comics, you can't try to merge them with a separate continuity like the Bay films. They're their own thing.
am I the only one who genuinely likes the movie designs? I think they're unique and cool. transformations and sounds are different in each bot. I like how when some transform they have like a musical pattern. I like the fact that the decepticons have alien/ insect bug like faces. I don't think transformers have to human like most people think.
I liked the looks in the film but wasn't really fond of some of the Decepticon designs and personalities. Some of them just came off as mindless monsters. I do like the newer proportioned look they're going with in AOE and The Last Knight though. Kinda reminds of when the second wave of Transformers came in from the 87 movie, they were proportioned as well.

Thanks for reply RBG, it's great to talk to another who has read the Bayformers Comics. Yeah that's OK, anyone can get a wrecked voice from doing great Voice acting, I actually thought it was a Computer generated Voice or someone else who did the Voice because it sounded so different than your actual Voice, that's how accurate it was! I kind of like Megatron's back story because I find it really ironic that his efforts of trying to protect Cybertron only resulted in it's destruction because he was too much of a lunatic to realise he was only destroying Cybertron. What's also interesting about it is that it shows that Megatron is a war criminal who is responsible for the chaos the Cybertronians have gone through throughout the war between the Autobots and Decepticons which even goes as far as the Autobots being attacked by other threats that aren't even Decepticons (Cemetery Wind, Transformers Reaction Force and Lockdown after the first 3 Movies which were already absolute mayhem) after his second death in DOTM (*sigh*) the war still continued, the Autobots recieved discrimination and propoganda from Humanity by being blamed for destroying Chicago and believed to be no better than the Decepticons, then an organisation illegally hunts them down, then an illegal organisation salvages their remains as if they own them, and after AOE happens, a new organisation (which is probably legal because they've been given orders and are the military) is hunting them down as well as other Transformers. Yeah, Megatron's definitely a war criminal. But one might argue that Optimus is not blameless because he removed the Allspark from Cybertron which increased the chances of it being destroyed (he thought it was a better idea to have the Allspark out of Megatron's hands than having it ruled by a Dictator who would abuse it).
I agree with you a 100%. Megatron was a Boss in the first movie. He was on steroids when he ripped Jazz in half(r.i.p jazz) , he was both toying around and whopping Optimus's ass, throwing him around like a rag doll.After the first movie, they just down graded him and made him look petty. TBH, its sad.
Yup . he was suped up in TF1 and I forgot to mention that he actually ate Jazz's spark after he tore him apart. Michael Bay was gonna originally add it in the film but thought it was too graphic for kids. But it's featured in the comics. Now he's just a cheerleader.
Nah .TBH, I was hyped 4 roft Megatron but Bay just made him bulkier for no reason. He wasn't stronger nor faster then the 1st movie megatron. But what pissed me off even more was that he needed help just to take down Prime in the forest scene. And, I DONT WANT TO EVEN TALK ABOUT MOVIE 3 Megatron. Lets just say that was both despicable and disappointing. He doesn't even live up to his name any more.

i feel bad for megatron now. he was a proud, respectful soldier once, but pride and the broken trust of others has truned him into a villian who soon became nothing more but a puppet for others selfish means.
Brian Ludwig Not everybody does bad things because their evil. They just believe in other ways of achieving their goals. Having complex villains and the story of a both devited and united race makes this Transformers story way more realistic. And I think that is great. What do you think?
What video did you watch? Did we watch the same video? Megatron showed zero traits of being respectful or “wanting to do what’s right”. Lol, what “broken trust”? He was jealous and held contempt because he wasn’t the chosen one and hated his brother ever since. This version of megatron isn’t sympathetic in the slightest so it’s hilarious seeing the typical “villains must be sympathetic” fans try so hard to put the version under the same umbrella as idw megatron
I love how the fallen fought in the movie. during a time period were he was evil but he knew of no fighting style. he was just raw powerful hits and grabbing

Even though Megatron is the villain, I feel like most people would choose the death of all bugs in the world and its home for the life of a human kind and earth.
The Fallen I think had noble intentions betraying his brothers for the sake of his people's future. But because of their rule of "Never Destroy a Planet With Life", he viewed his brothers as weak for not making as Sentinel Prime put it the "Hard Decisions". In order to make more energon he was resolved to turn the machine on even if his brothers try to stop him. I found the different point of views from Revenge of the Fallen interesting of the two parties who were involved in that incident. Jetfire who believes The Fallen betrayed the very teachings of the Primes. And The Fallen who believes his brothers betrayed him to save the Humans.

No he didn’t. The fallen’s entire reasoning behind blowing up planets with life was envauae he wanted the power for himself, he even says so himself in the comic, all that flowery fluff about “wanting to save his race” was him lying to manipulate his fellow cybertronians into joining his cause. This dude went on a mass slaughter spree committing genocide across several worlds that did nothing to him or his race.

All this stuff makes me appreciate the Bay EU more, I admit. But this comic material is what SHOULD have been made into movies. I wish they would get off of Earth, or that the movies would be less human-centered.
I'm with ya on that. Hasbro created a new writers room for the new expanded TF movie universe. They've said that they're trying to utilize as much of the TF mythology as possible. That includes toys, shows, and comic books.
I certainly hope so. I've seen the newest trailer for TLK, and I gotta say, looks like more of roughly the same for now. Bay has stated that this is his last, again, so maybe it'll take a turn for the better in the years to come.
Interesting re-cap of Megatron's history, I'm with you not a fan of this incarnation of the character. Sadly I'm not really caught up with my comics, I'm hoping that sometime after 'Last Knight' that some director comes forth with a new approach to the universe but staying true to the G1 characters initial forms. The new approach may end up 'dated' with the 80's style that some of us fans grew up with, but I would hope that the fans would appreciate it more than the Bay films. Don't get me wrong, the Bay films are very entertaining and explosive ridden. The stories are a bit weak in some areas but still enjoyable. #TILLALLGAMERSR1

im spitballing here, but is that why Sentinel killed Ironhide in TF3? Cuz he didn't like the newfound peace they had? And so he played it off as a so-called "sacrifice"?
He killed him because Ironhide was the weapon specialist, a really significant Autobot. Killing him would make it easier for the Decepticons to handle the Autobots.
It definitely helped in the War For Cybertron bit, and why he went so far too not only take it over but do anything he needed to make sure Optimus and the Autobots didnt escape. Loss of their homeworld yes but in the long run, it led the battle to Earth and into Earth, new battles began and the history slowly unravels from there which makes it very interesting and intriguing over how things will end in the series finale, its true finale.
I was right megatron did crush bumblebees voice box in this version before transformers prime and also because of of bee launching the allspark far away from megatrons reach (or so bee thought)
MAN, I LOVE when you do stories like this... and there are SO MANY PEOPLE who know NOTHING about all the movie comic adaptations, which make the movies make so much sense. BUT... the movies are a different story than the cartoons, just like the avengers, xmen, and the dceu... but these comics help you understand the movies... there were SO MANY too! prequels and sequel comics to each movie, except Age of Extinction... I wish they wouldve kept those going too.

This is the reason Bay Megatron is in my top 5 of the incarnations he's one of those villians that have so much potential michael bay sorted of wasted it. But the origin comic's depicted his badassery and war commander feel I love the concept of him being a brave Solider, that rose up to the highest military rank possible and then went insane making it all go to shit, one of my favourite Origins this version is so underrated and despite his many faults I still found him to be a dangerous leader and an Adept warrior. Many deals, Solid schemeing in dark of the moon and an intimidating presence in the first film the 07 design is still one of my favourites, alot of people hate on it but I just thought it looked really original and unique the wing's on his back, the giant claw servos the Huge spiky helm was well detailed and gave him a Conquerer aesthetic I love the flail and the formable fusion canon.
I'm giving this back-story option for Megatron a thumbs-up for it's movie content tie-in. However for any back-story ties to the original and following animated series [exception being "TF Prime"], this back-story would have to receive a thumbs-down for the original series. Movie Franchise tie-in gets a nod of thanks and gratitude for the research and seculation track followed, as it gives a consistent clarity to Megatrons histories through this storyline. I look forward to your next work on any of the Transformer characters from the movie franchise. If you should opt to visit the Original animated series, you will need to reference and research the Marvel Comics, Original Series & the War for and Battle for Cybertron. This gave the best back-story I figure to be in effect, as it touches on the creation of the Matrix, and even gives a brief touch on the potential of "Primus" having condensed his life energy into becoming the Massive Plasma Energy Furnace at the heart of Cybertron... Ultimately I say... awesome work on the Megatron backstory. Looking forward to any following Cybertronian works that you may find interest in.

Hayden Cooper. In the Aligned Continuity, yes Megatron was originally called Megatronus. But this was because he named himself after Megatronus Prime, the original Decepticon, and later shortened it to Megatron after he rose to become the Decepticon leader and when Orion Pax became Optimus Prime. I'm not too knowledgeable about the Movie continuity, but I assume in this case they just kept them as Optimus and Megatron completely throughout to avoid the confusion that other continuities have.

Thanks Tia. Yeah the bad comedy and story writing kills the films for me but I have faith they'll get better since we have a new team of writers and Hasbro will be using more of the comic book lore. We got guys who worked on some the Marvel movies and Netflix series coming in to fix the mistakes Bay made.

I respect your opinion but I completely disagree with you about G1 Megatron being better than TF Prime's. As much as I love G1, that Megatron was so incompetent and slapstick goofy at times. TF Prime's Megatron takes everything good about G1's and Bay's version and combines them.
To be honest, the tank form in TF: Fall of Cybertron and War For Cybertron is better. I still consider Megatron's form as a dragon in RID 2001, but those two I mention earlier are better option for him
boy where do i begin, this was amazing, i always love the backstory of Megatron being someone who once fought for the planet he loved and slowly turned into one of the greatest villains in history. i will say i too have my gripes about Megatron being nothing more than a lacky in the past few movies, lets hope he brings the pain in the next movie, Megatron's history is just as important as Optimus's, so its always great to learn about his in every incarnation. this was truly an awesome vid dude, keep up the great work man

This is super in depth and I'm definitely subscribing to you for more content like this, but it doesn't quite explain Megatron's relationship with Sentinel. I was wondering just why Sentinel decided to join forces with Megatron, when and how Megatron even knew to tell Sentinel to meet him on earth, etc...still though, great stuff. Hope to see more lore vids on other bayverse characters, especially since no other channel does this.

I won't lie, I have not been impressed with the MB tfers since the very first one. I think that it's the character designs is that pulls me out of the story. However, with the background that you presented here, I find that it would fit along the characteristics of the genre. So I give it a like for that. That's a good question. In the last film he also referred to himself as Galvatron when he could have just said he was megatron. Optimus noted he had no soul (spark maybe?). The Megatron shown in the trailer also looks much more like he did in the past films and nothing like Galvatron. I think they will either be two completely separate characters or somehow Megatron will get his spark put into Galvatron's body.
You see, this is awesome. Transformers, that's all. No annoying humans, or stupid subplots. Just transformers. And THAT'S why the first move did well, and these comics did well. Because it focused on TRANSFORMERS.
Reality: Michael Bay has been an asshole the whole time and if he does this time too (by killing either of the Optimus Prime or Bumblebee) then I quit watching Transformers and no one watchers Transformers again. Thumbs up if I'm not the only one.
if you havent already, please recognise that if you go to the trailer for tf5 the last night and go to the part where bumbelbee is about to get stabbed, if you go frame by frame or slow motion you will notice bee stops him from stabbing him by grabbing optimus's hand

i really like how u brung all this to light. very well done. might i just add, in other comics and video game and series, megatron turned bad cuz he and Optimus both shared a dislike of the councle of cybertron and when megatron voiced his opinion and wanted to be named the new prime, he was turned down and one of the reasons he hates optimus is cuz he felt betrade cuz optimus was choosin to be the new prime
Just came across this video in my time line. Great content. As someone who was a teen in the late 80’s and early 90’s MJ was it. We been tryin to tell y’all newbie’s (no offense) for years that the Labron argument was garbage. Now you see for yourself. Don’t get me wrong Bron is a great player but MJ is the 🐐. We saw MJ do things on the court that had never been done before.
Thanks. I try to stay within the continuity I'm talking about. Some channels talk about G1 because they know the G1 elitist talk trash on the film universe any chance they get.
I watched one channel that was talking about Unicron before the new movie hits and he talked about G1 Unicron, Unicron Trilogy and Prime's Thirteen Primes thinking it all belonged to the same continuity and got upset when I told him it wasn't, stating that "no one else has done a video on Unicron" Even though there has been.
This is why I don't get along with some of the G1 elitist because if I state a fact or origin that pertains to another continuity like the Bay films they tell me I'm wrong and start talking about how it is in G1. When they come to my channel they automatically assume that I'm a casual fan but I make sure I teach my viewers something from each continuity so that they learn something from my vids.
Honestly, War for Cybertron got it right IMHO. Megatron had a fued with Zeta Prime and it wasn't until Zeta Prime's defeat that Optimus was appointed Prime by the council. Then the two would eventually clash, Optimus and Megatron.
This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for My All Time Favorite Antagonist’s in The Transformers Film Series and My Third Favorite Version of Megatron. I’m always going to Hate That Michael Bay Didn’t Allow Frank Welker to Reprise his Role as The One and Only True Voice of Megatron in The 1-3 Films. But I’am Grateful That Michael Bay Got Hugo Weaving and he did a Magnificent Performance Bringing Megaton to Life. Hugo Weaving is My Second Favorite Voice for Megatron only outranked By Frank Welker. One of The Reasons Why I Love These Version Of Megatron so Much? Because Megatron may have been a villain at heart but in Every Film he wants to Restore The Cybertronian Race. In Transformers 2007 Film he Tried to get The All-Spark to Build an Army. In Transformers 2 Revenge of The Fallen Megatron worked with Megatronus Prime/The Fallen to Use The Star Harvester to Destroy Suns to create Energon. In Transformers 3 Dark of The Moon Megatron worked with Sentinel Prime to use The Pillar’s to Restore Cybertron. In Transformers 4 Age of Extinction He Manipulated K.S.I To Rebuild himself a New Body and Used The Seed to Recreate his Decepticon Army. In Transformers 5 The Last Knight Megatron worked with Quintessa to gain his Original Body and to get The Staff to Rebuild Cybertron.
At the end of T4 Prime said he had to take the seed to a place where it can never be found I'm guessing he made a stop before his encounter with the creators

What's also interesting about it is that it shows that Megatron is a war criminal who is responsible for the chaos the Cybertronians have gone through throughout the war between the Autobots and Decepticons which even goes as far as the Autobots being attacked by other threats that aren't even Decepticons (Cemetery Wind, Transformers Reaction Force and Lockdown after the first 3 Movies which were already absolute mayhem) after his second death in DOTM (*sigh*) the war still continued, the Autobots recieved discrimination and propoganda from Humanity by being blamed for destroying Chicago and believed to be no better than the Decepticons, then an organisation illegally hunts them down, then an illegal organisation salvages their remains as if they own them, and after AOE happens, a new organisation (which is probably legal because they've been given orders and are the military) is hunting them down as well as other Transformers.
Yeah, Megatron's definitely a war criminal. But one might argue that Optimus is not blameless because he removed the Allspark from Cybertron which increased the chances of it being destroyed (he thought it was a better idea to have the Allspark out of Megatron's hands than having it ruled by a Dictator who would abuse it).

He was on steroids when he ripped Jazz in half(r.i.p jazz) , he was both toying around and whopping Optimus's ass, throwing him around like a rag doll.After the first movie, they just down graded him and made him look petty. Yup . he was suped up in TF1 and I forgot to mention that he actually ate Jazz's spark after he tore him apart. Michael Bay was gonna originally add it in the film but thought it was too graphic for kids. But it's featured in the comics. Now he's just a cheerleader.

The Fallen I think had noble intentions betraying his brothers for the sake of his people's future. But because of their rule of "Never Destroy a Planet With Life", he viewed his brothers as weak for not making as Sentinel Prime put it the "Hard Decisions". In order to make more energon he was resolved to turn the machine on even if his brothers try to stop him. I found the different point of views from Revenge of the Fallen interesting of the two parties who were involved in that incident. Jetfire who believes The Fallen betrayed the very teachings of the Primes. And The Fallen who believes his brothers betrayed him to save the Humans.

The fallen’s entire reasoning behind blowing up planets with life was envauae he wanted the power for himself, he even says so himself in the comic, all that flowery fluff about “wanting to save his race” was him lying to manipulate his fellow cybertronians into joining his cause. This dude went on a mass slaughter spree committing genocide across several worlds that did nothing to him or his race.

I'm with ya on that. Hasbro created a new writers room for the new expanded TF movie universe. They've said that they're trying to utilize as much of the TF mythology as possible. That includes toys, shows, and comic books.
I certainly hope so. I've seen the newest trailer for TLK, and I gotta say, looks like more of roughly the same for now. Bay has stated that this is his last, again, so maybe it'll take a turn for the better in the years to come.

Interesting re-cap of Megatron's history, I'm with you not a fan of this incarnation of the character. Sadly I'm not really caught up with my comics, I'm hoping that sometime after 'Last Knight' that some director comes forth with a new approach to the universe but staying true to the G1 characters initial forms. The new approach may end up 'dated' with the 80's style that some of us fans grew up with, but I would hope that the fans would appreciate it more than the Bay films. Don't get me wrong, the Bay films are very entertaining and explosive ridden. The stories are a bit weak in some areas but still enjoyable. #TILLALLGAMERSR1

Never been big on Megatron one dimensional and boring but this origin was very well written and different to what we've seen in the past.
im spitballing here, but is that why Sentinel killed Ironhide in TF3? Cuz he didn't like the newfound peace they had? And so he played it off as a so-called "sacrifice"?
He killed him because Ironhide was the weapon specialist, a really significant Autobot. Killing him would make it easier for the Decepticons to handle the Autobots.
It definitely helped in the War For Cybertron bit, and why he went so far too not only take it over but do anything he needed to make sure Optimus and the Autobots didnt escape. Loss of their homeworld yes but in the long run, it led the battle to Earth and into Earth, new battles began and the history slowly unravels from there which makes it very interesting and intriguing over how things will end in the series finale, its true finale.

This is the reason Bay Megatron is in my top 5 of the incarnations he's one of those villians that have so much potential michael bay sorted of wasted it. But the origin comic's depicted his badassery and war commander feel I love the concept of him being a brave Solider, that rose up to the highest military rank possible and then went insane making it all go to shit, one of my favourite Origins this version is so underrated and despite his many faults I still found him to be a dangerous leader and an Adept warrior. Many deals, Solid schemeing in dark of the moon and an intimidating presence in the first film the 07 design is still one of my favourites, alot of people hate on it but I just thought it looked really original and unique the wing's on his back, the giant claw servos the Huge spiky helm was well detailed and gave him a Conquerer aesthetic I love the flail and the formable fusion canon.

I'm giving this back-story option for Megatron a thumbs-up for it's movie content tie-in. However for any back-story ties to the original and following animated series [exception being "TF Prime"], this back-story would have to receive a thumbs-down for the original series.
Movie Franchise tie-in gets a nod of thanks and gratitude for the research and seculation track followed, as it gives a consistent clarity to Megatrons histories through this storyline.
I look forward to your next work on any of the Transformer characters from the movie franchise.
If you should opt to visit the Original animated series, you will need to reference and research the Marvel Comics, Original Series & the War for and Battle for Cybertron.
This gave the best back-story I figure to be in effect, as it touches on the creation of the Matrix, and even gives a brief touch on the potential of "Primus" having condensed his life energy into becoming the Massive Plasma Energy Furnace at the heart of Cybertron...
Ultimately I say... awesome work on the Megatron backstory.

Hayden Cooper. In the Aligned Continuity, yes Megatron was originally called Megatronus. But this was because he named himself after Megatronus Prime, the original Decepticon, and later shortened it to Megatron after he rose to become the Decepticon leader and when Orion Pax became Optimus Prime. I'm not too knowledgeable about the Movie continuity, but I assume in this case they just kept them as Optimus and Megatron completely throughout to avoid the confusion that other continuities have.

Thanks Tia. Yeah the bad comedy and story writing kills the films for me but I have faith they'll get better since we have a new team of writers and Hasbro will be using more of the comic book lore. We got guys who worked on some the Marvel movies and Netflix series coming in to fix the mistakes Bay made.

I respect your opinion but I completely disagree with you about G1 Megatron being better than TF Prime's. As much as I love G1, that Megatron was so incompetent and slapstick goofy at times. TF Prime's Megatron takes everything good about G1's and Bay's version and combines them.

To be honest, the tank form in TF: Fall of Cybertron and War For Cybertron is better. I still consider Megatron's form as a dragon in RID 2001, but those two I mention earlier are better option for him

I was wondering just why Sentinel decided to join forces with Megatron, when and how Megatron even knew to tell Sentinel to meet him on earth, etc...still though, great stuff. Hope to see more lore vids on other bayverse characters, especially since no other channel does this.

I won't lie, I have not been impressed with the MB tfers since the very first one. I think that it's the character designs is that pulls me out of the story. However, with the background that you presented here, I find that it would fit along the characteristics of the genre. So I give it a like for that. That's a good question. In the last film he also referred to himself as Galvatron when he could have just said he was megatron. Optimus noted he had no soul (spark maybe?). The Megatron shown in the trailer also looks much more like he did in the past films and nothing like Galvatron. I think they will either be two completely separate characters or somehow Megatron will get his spark put into Galvatron's body.

Glad you kept it to one continuity instead talking about G1 and Prime like how some channels have done.
Thanks. I try to stay within the continuity I'm talking about. Some channels talk about G1 because they know the G1 elitist talk trash on the film universe any chance they get.
I watched one channel that was talking about Unicron before the new movie hits and he talked about G1 Unicron, Unicron Trilogy and Prime's Thirteen Primes thinking it all belonged to the same continuity and got upset when I told him it wasn't, stating that "no one else has done a video on Unicron" Even though there has been.
This is why I don't get along with some of the G1 elitist because if I state a fact or origin that pertains to another continuity like the Bay films they tell me I'm wrong and start talking about how it is in G1. When they come to my channel they automatically assume that I'm a casual fan but I make sure I teach my viewers something from each continuity so that they learn something from my vids.
Honestly, War for Cybertron got it right IMHO. Megatron had a fued with Zeta Prime and it wasn't until Zeta Prime's defeat that Optimus was appointed Prime by the council. Then the two would eventually clash, Optimus and Megatron.
This was an Incredible Masterpiece Video for My All Time Favorite Antagonist’s in The Transformers Film Series and My Third Favorite Version of Megatron. I’m always going to Hate That Michael Bay Didn’t Allow Frank Welker to Reprise his Role as The One and Only True Voice of Megatron in The 1-3 Films. But I’am Grateful That Michael Bay Got Hugo Weaving and he did a Magnificent Performance Bringing Megaton to Life. Hugo Weaving is My Second Favorite Voice for Megatron only outranked By Frank Welker. One of The Reasons Why I Love These Version Of Megatron so Much? Because Megatron may have been a villain at heart but in Every Film he wants to Restore The Cybertronian Race. In Transformers 2007 Film he Tried to get The All-Spark to Build an Army. In Transformers 2 Revenge of The Fallen Megatron worked with Megatronus Prime/The Fallen to Use The Star Harvester to Destroy Suns to create Energon. In Transformers 3 Dark of The Moon Megatron worked with Sentinel Prime to use The Pillar’s to Restore Cybertron. In Transformers 4 Age of Extinction He Manipulated K.S.I To Rebuild himself a New Body and Used The Seed to Recreate his Decepticon Army. In Transformers 5 The Last Knight Megatron worked with Quintessa to gain his Original Body and to get The Staff to Rebuild Cybertron.
At the end of T4 Prime said he had to take the seed to a place where it can never be found I'm guessing he made a stop before his encounter with the creators
You did a great job with this video. I will say that unless i get a free ticket like I did with Ghost in the Shell.. i will never pay for a ticket to see this movie. I gave MB one last chance too many with Age of Extinction... Im still mad i paid to see that but ces't la vie. Keep up this great work RBG. #tillallgamersare1
