Good to see you watching the guide. Sakura Gakuin translates as Cherry Blossom Academy - it was an Idol group with a school life theme put together by the Amuse talent agency with 10 to 12 of the most talented girls they had on their books aged between 10 and 15 (which is school age of course - compulsory education ends at age 15 in Japan), so when the girls would graduate from their every day school they would also graduate from Sakura Gakuin and Amuse would bring in another younger girl to take the place for the next school year of each girl who had graduated.
The idea behind Sakura Gakuin was for the girls to learn and gain experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry, so they would learn to sing and dance, act, model etc but also about song writing, stage management, TV presentation, interview skills and more so that when they graduated they could choose to carry on in whatever aspect of entertainment they enjoyed most or were best at.
This would benefit them as individuals and Amuse as their talent agency.
While doing all this Sakura Gakuin would put on shows and would make records, so all the sub-units (like after school clubs - cooking club, baton club, reporters club, science club, tennis club and more - including the heavy music club (Babymetal)) would have their own themed song and dance routines and their songs would all go on the annual album along with the full group songs.
Let's see what you make of the second half of the guide.

I meant to add BABYMETAL separated from SG when Su graduated in 2013 after her 15th birthday. Koba and Amuse had decided BABYMETAL should become an independent band for Su (and for Yui and Moa) to continue her/their career. Yui and Moa carried on working with SG while also touring with BABYMETAL for the next two years until they also graduated in 2015.

Having seen the guide, you can see how much hard work these girls from a very young age put in, to get to the stage they are now. Imagine being 12yrs old, learning dance and songs for several different groups, performing on stage, while still going to regular school. Babymetal was actually the least supported of all the sub groups in Sakura Gakuin (jpop/metal was not seen as a money maker as compared to the other more pop oriented groups)... They had to performed with borrowed costumes where other groups had their costumes fully provided, and played in food courts and side stages. They have earned the hard way every award and accolade that they have gotten. If you run out of things to react to, feel free to checkout Sakura Gakuin. They have alot of skit shows, songs, and stage performances to checkout.🤘🦊🤘

Even in the west you have a bunch of child singers/actors, though most of them didn't go through quite as organised system as the girls of Sakura Gakuin did through Amuse... and as you've pointed out, not a lot of the child actors/singers have ended well.... Which is why i like how Amuse/Koba has handled Babymetal.... Some fans hate it, but you never see the girls outside of their performances. You don't seem their online presence, unless it's put out by the Babymetal team themselves. You rarely see any pictures of them outside on the streets, luckily with the mask wearing because of Covid, the girls can have even more privacy, and they can live their life outside of Babymetal.
After seeing the Guide, you now have a greater appreciation for what the girls went through to get where they are. Were they manufactured? Yes they most absolutely were. They weren't some college buddies that got together in someone's garage and formed a band, and played shitty gigs until they got famous, as seems to be the only way most music purists seems to think a band can be true and real....These girls went through talent auditions, trained at an early age to sing and perform, and were promoted by a big record label. But does that take away their achievements? Hell no. If Koba/Amuse was planning on making money, Jpop with Metal would probably be the last thing they would put money in (not that Babymetal had a lot of funding to begin with, having to borrow clothes for costumes, and guys in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments while singing to a backtrack, and having to play in food courts for their early gigs).... Back then and even now, the genres that make mega money are R&B/Rap/Hip Hop or Pop. Personally I like to think of them as a handcrafted supergroup.
The producer Koba, wanted to refresh the metal scene, so he found the best young talented vocalist he can find (Su) and paired her with her two friends (Yui and Moa) who would be backup singers/dancers/hypewomen to get the crowd involved, and then found the best session musicians in Japan to form the Kamiband to back them up in live shows.... If you look at the some of the best guitarist, bassist, drummers in Japans rock/metal scene, you would find some of them have played in the Kamiband at one time or another. 🤘🦊🤘

Good to see you're finally watching, gonna answer some of your questions at the beginning and continue on later comments down below.
    Yes, Kami means god
No, Sakura Gakuin isn't related to any anime series.
Is Suzuka with her previous group, Karen Girl's related to anime series "Zettai Karen Children".

Dayum! Sorry if you have been spoiled by the Babymetal Death clip, I'm pretty sure always recommend this guide after watching that live performance and BxMxC. The safe to react version (and most meaningful) is live at Legend 1997 SuMetal 16 Birthday in 2013 (look for Gans Tomas channel or GuilhermeCait). The other versions like Legend S or Tokyo Dome are heavily blocked so it's up to you.
I don't see a problem with kids receiving this kind of training since childhood if they got parents supervisor and that's what they really want, of course besides this they had they regular or normal school so is a very important aspect. Also they hadn't 7 years when experimenting with metal lol they started at 11 and 12 years old, and they're first real metal band was two years after that, and only when having 15 and 16 years old they met their first metal festival outside of Japan, with bunch of western bands, although they knew some of them previously in Japan, like Metallica.
Sakura Gakuin got members from 10 to 15 years and is a limited to growth period unit, trained to got the skills and abilities for this entertainment industry, their goal is to become superladies. They got a lot of good songs mostly Jrock and Jpop. Highly recommend if you want to know more about our girls.

7:01 this was the second world tour. World is mostly: US, Western Europe and Japan.
15:09 Babymetal isn't normal, but J-pop groups are more common. And Sakura Gakuin, as a training group, is also pretty special.
Here is an example: when you buy clothes for little girls you will see photos of little girls in little girl clothes. Those photos were taken of child models.
Amuse is a talent agency, which means they have kid- and adult talent available for any job in entertainment, especially those jobs in the spotlight. If you need someone technical like a camera person, producer, etc. for a TV show they can deliver you that too, but it might just be someone from a partner sub-contractor company they regularly work with.
For example Yui used to do child acting, so she was a child in movies. Where do you think children for movies come from ? Their are companies for that.
Amuse is one of the top companies in Japan. And having training groups isn't common. One way to look at it: this top company put their top young talent in a training group, which means these are some of the most talented girls in Japan. Some decide not to stay in entertainment and for example become a nurse. A lot of them got hired to do jobs to in entertainment. Some are top models or actresses even in top movies/series or do voice acting for anime, etc.
Japanese music industry is the second largest in the world and most of it is in Japanese for the domestic market. When people think music from Asia they might think K-Pop (K for Korean), but J-Pop (J for Japanese) has existed much longer. And the music is a lot more intricate. Japan just doesn't export as much to the west. In part because it's in Japanese and because the market is already very large.
Actually, Babymetal is probably the biggest Japanese music export to the west right now. Their 3rd album reached #1 on the US Billboard rock/metal album chart, which is a first for anyone from Asia. Their 2nd album reached #39 in the general US Billboard album chart. Which was a first for any Japanese artist in over 50 years. The 3rd album was #13 in that same chart. To complete the set, the 1st album got #187. And I'm only mentioning US Billboard because it's probably the hardest market to enter. Again in part because in case of Japanese artists usually sing in Japanese, like Babymetal.
So in summary: Yui started as a model and actress at age 6 before joining Amuse, Moa started as a model at age 8 when she joined Amuse. And Suzuka started as a child model at age 3. She did photos and commercials with children's toys and photos modeling for backpacks. At age 6 or 7 she entered 'Actors School Hiroshima' (ASH), she actually got a scholarship. It also isn't a regular school, but an extra school. She tried a bunch of things but her passion is singing. If she isn't singing on stage or training with a vocal coach, etc. for Babymetal, she does karaoke, a lot. If friends or family don't want to do karaoke, she will do it on her own. She will sing anything and everything. When she does that it can last for hours. Only think she doesn't sing is Babymetal, because Su-metal is like a different mindset for her, almost a different personality. We don't normally hear about their private lives, so some of this information is old.
I like the guide is kind of misleading when it says 'he planned a j-pop metal fusion'. We don't really know the order of things.

Wow I'll bet you are going to write about Japanese music on book! grandmas of Suzuka and Emi have karaoke shops since when both girls were kids, so I bet Suzuka can also sing enka well 🐇 czcams.com/video/6fw-KChsYWE/video.html

Anime simply means animation or cartoons, it is not a style or cultural thing as a lot of people assume, Japanese people would also refer to Mickey Mouse as anime. What most people would refer to as an anime style is actually the Lolitta style, which is a style of dressing in Japan where young girls right up to full grown women will dress in frilly kawaii dress as a fashion statement, this is quite often mirrored in Japanese animations as they are a reflection of Japanese culture. Babymetal's costumes are a reflection of the blending of kawaii and metal with the lower half, the frilly skirts an tutus representing their kawaii side and the upper part based on armor representing their metal side.

They use school uniforms at school... it's pretty obvious. That doesn't mean that it's an anime hehehe...
The idol industry is a pretty hard place to be and even more to success. In my opinion they got very lucky just because of the fact they were able to do something totally different and also to travel the world at such young age. Probably too young during the fist 2-3 years, but they decided to go ahead on several moments instead of disbanding the group.
Are you looking at your phone while watching the video?

Here in the West, we had the Mickey Mouse Club, and both Shirley Temple and Judy Garland were huge singing and dancing stars as kids, as well as popular actresses.
There's a big beauty pageant scene with heavily made-up young girls competing, which (at least in my opinion) is much creepier than a wholesome school-themed Idol group.
Although they performed at a few Asian anime festivals in 2012 and 2013, BABYMETAL didn't perform in the West until 2014 when Su was 16 years old.

As shown in part one, they hit on Moa's love for food. That is why when people ask about BMC, some fans will jokingly say it stands for Bring Moa Chicken. Though I thought it should be chocolate, since Gimme Chocolate was what introduced so many of us to them

You asked “do you think it is healthy where in Japan young children can join clubs like Sakura Gakuin?” (Paraphrased).
My question: is it any more unhealthy than here in the West where young children are being exposed to drag queens and being force fed homosexual and transgender propaganda down their throats in public kindergarten and elementary schools?
While I realize SG is not a real school….still uf you watch any of the behind the scenes footage of these girls at Sakura Gakuin and compare it to say a public elementary school day in L.A., Chicago, Portland , NYC, Detroit, Baltimore etc. you would at least answer part of your question.
