Actually I really agree much more with the bride's mother because I actually know and understand how she feels and where she's coming from, her and her daughter, both of them and they have their own personal tastes and style with their own individualities and rights too.

These are so different it is unbelievable. Everyone in this episode is so over the top offensively disrespectful it is terrible. I can understand an occasional disagreement, but if the producers are forcing this behavior, it's abhorrent.

I'm of Italian descent and I would prefer the home cooked Jamaican food. I have never eaten at an Italian restaurant that could compare to my grandmother's cooking. For a party of 250, you know the pasta would be overcooked and mushy. Would have been nice if there had been a happy medium between cheap backyard wedding and an extravaganza where the frugal mom had to pony up what would have helped with her son putting a down payment on a house. I really admire the groom's mother. She does everything for her family. I was shocked when the bride said that her dress said money. Really, is that what that dress is saying to you?! "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Well sadly Jamaican food can easily be overcooked too but totally understand.
Yes but one person homecooking for that many people especially if no catering experience can go horrible too. But I agree needed a balance between two, price and style. The groom's mom felt like a 5 year old birthday not wedding but some elements could have been amazing in upscale wedding (not as fancy or expensive as the bride's mom)a

I really loved the Jamaican mom's vision. So unique and beautiful.
Both mums are Jamaican, one is just down to earth and homey, the other is boujie and worldly.
I think personally it was better for the rehearsal dinner. Considering the budget something in the middle. Not to be mean somtimes you can dress people and places up but the bride and groom simply may not have the panache, the je nesais quoi, the personality or poise to really embrace and utilize that so called class. You can dress someone up but you can't change who they are. A pig in a Vera Wang is still a pig.

I was literally just thinking about that! This is the first time ever on this show that i have heard the ppl talk about the cost of the wedding thru out the whole show. Like doesn't the show pay for the wedding?? I need answers lol
I suspect the expensive wedding planner providing her services for free is what the couple get out of it. That and and a free copy of the show, lol.
Soooo... I was all for the extravagant mom until wain wain...the cheque bounced. Then she had to eat humble pie and ask the cheap Mom for help. Lesson learned... the cheap mom had the Money to help. While I loved the look of the wedding... you can only have a fab wedding if you can pay for it!!!
Oh and that dress... not sure about it.

The wedding really was a WASTE of money. The best part was probably the food. The bride mom is still insisting that it was no problem yet she had borrow money from the penny pincher. She is trying to portray something that she is NOT. Giving everyone the impression that she is rich. I get the impression that her daughter is the same way.

Brides mother KNEW her check bounced and made the calculated decision not to say anything so that the grooms mother had to step in and pay for the castle ON TOP OF making the food for the wedding... Hope the bride is NOT like her mother....
LOL The two's mom's dresses clash with one another. so appropriate and foreshadowing. It was nice looking the wedding venue but the wedding party didn't exactly look like class, sophistication or elegance.

Yes, I get it. The show is produced to show the extremes of the two families for TV. However, the bride's mother, while over the top, is really a sad example people who think they are classy but really are gaudy and poor. The groom's mom was probably told to play up her frugality to look cheaper than she really is. The two extremes were too contrived.
However, I think there was some real truths their portrayals. The bride's mother needed a better weave and makeup. I think that was real. She liked flipping that hair too much. The groom's mom took those insults, however scripted, too well. Her true character showed that she wanted to please her son, regardless of the show.
All jokes aside, once she wrote that $5K check, I would have written her out of my life. It would have taken me a long time to forgive her for that mess.

I enjoy wedding shows. HOwever usually the shows are more transparent what is the benefit for being on the show ie money for the wedding, or a "free wedding planner and three wishes, some money for the wedding etc. But this show we can only assume there is some money for giving up control of the wedding. And like all wedding shows (I can almost guarantee I will get no thumbs up or complimentary words for the organizer of this youtube page.) I really like the show though even if it is a bit contrived- you can sense the editing is all designed to show conflict between the mothers and ditto for bridezila and groomzilla. Even the choice of the words to add drama and conflict - this has nothing to do with the best mother but who has the best plan according to the bride and groom. Saly the truth is most of these people on these shows, not that money can by class, generally are not the classiest, most sophisticate people. THey may think they have class but generally they are people with dreams often for a wedding out of their budget. You just hope they have a happy wedding but in many cases there would be no wedding but for this show.
"Christine is cheap; I am expensive" Yep, total class. Sadly most of these people do not really know high end because most of us don't live that lifestyle. I wish people could be happy with what they have. A caribean feast is wonderful if it representative of the couple.

The only good thing in this wedding was the food. The rest was over the top tacky. The back yard bbq would have made better memories for everyone, not to mention being less stressful and expensive.
The show gives them money/budget for wedding, the point was the bride’s mom was going over the budget, and then said she’d pay out of pocket for crazy extra stuff. The groom’s mom was cooking to help with budget so the bride’s mom could spend it on her expensive choices. I’m sure the budget drama was for tv. The check that bounced was the “balance check,” so if that was real, I’m guessing the bride’s mom said she’d cover what was over the show’s budget.
Smh... the brides mother is horrible! Not putting any thought into their future, putting them in debt before they even start their lives. Smh...
