Honestly...poor Sweden. They wanted to host this so badly, because they love eurovision. They still made such a good job, EBU ruined everything...unfortunately... And certain someone participating as well.
I was so excited, but not anymore...I'm happy for Dons because we haven't been in final for a while, but I don't think I'll enjoy it that much tbh...

Since 2013, I've always cheered for Sweden to win because SVT has provided beautiful, funny and enjoyable Eurovision contests since then. That wouldn't be different this year. The staging they provided for each delegation was amazing.
But EBU has made me wanna forget this year's competition. So sad for what has happened backstage 😢

Hai Rachel, thanks for your video. I am Dutch and because it took só long for the statement to be factual on what happened, horrible suggestions were already being shared, from serious assault to a woman and attempts at unaliving someone. I was stunned and then it tured out he made a gesture/move but did not hit anyone and I feel relieved but deflated and disappointed, because Joost was SÓ exstatic in the upcoming days. This was his only childhood dream. I cannot imagine how he feels.

I am happy with the winner, Nemo was in my strict top. So was Marko and Bambie :) I with Croatia possibility to hold Eurovision in some more stable times.

  • @ThaGamingMisfit
    @ThaGamingMisfit Před 17 dny +4

You're not the only having lost the appetite ... I'm feeling weird and bad the past two days. Eurovision should be a party, where musics unites people, yet we are now in this mess that is probably representing the state of our world in 2024, where polarization and intolerance are at a all time high. I can't believe how the EBU is just shooting itself in both feet.
This is my final prediction I made yesterday with my secret formula. The Netherlands were in 8th before I had to remove them.
    1 Croatia
    2 Switzerland
    3 Israel
    4 Ukraine
    5 Italy
    6 France
    7 Ireland
    8 Norway
    9 Lithuania
    10 Greece
    11 Sweden
    12 Portugal
    13 Georgia
    14 Armenia
    15 Austria
    16 United Kingdom
    17 Slovenia
    18 Finland
    19 Serbia
    20 Cyprus
    21 Latvia
    22 Estonia
    23 Germany
    24 Spain
    25 Luxembourg
If Israel wins I think we probably will have seen the last Eurovision.

I have no appetite for tonight. I'm only gonna watch it for my favorites. Greece, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland and Ukraine. I'm so disappointed with what is going on. In my opinion Israel shouldn't participate this year , it's only creating drama , a bad atmosphere and trouble and putting people in danger. That's all I'm gonna say. Good luck to our girl Marina Satti and let the best performance win . I hope it isn't Israel as a reaction to the drama

    Hey Rach.
We're in the midst of a crisis. We absolutely need reform at ESC, and I think after tonight thats the only major way it can go. Either that, or we have a mega reduced eurovision from here on out, if any at all. I won't make a prediction, but I will say that I'm still going to watch and try to make the most of the evening while hoping for one outcome. I need not specify here, I'm sure you all can figure what i mean.

  • @neilonaniet
    @neilonaniet Před 17 dny +1

I kind of feel a bit like you do with regard to not feeling it as much as before, ESPECIALLY if a particular country beginning with "I" wins. The EBU have a real problem if they do, as who's going to want to go there next year?
With regard to my finishing order prediction, after a bit of fiddling with it, I've come up with this, which I reserve the right to change as much as I like before they start announcing the jury votes (I posted this comment at 7pm on Saturday night):
    1 - CROATIA
    2 - A certain country beginning with "I"
    3 - SWITZERLAND
    4 - UKRAINE
    5 - IRELAND
    6 - ITALY
    7 - SWEDEN
    8 - FINLAND
    9 - NORWAY
    10 - FRANCE
    11 - SLOVENIA
    12 - UNITED KINDGOM
    13 - LITHUANIA
    14 - SERBIA
    15 - GEORGIA
    16 - AUSTRIA
    17 - CYPRUS
    18 - LATVIA
    19 - GREECE
    20 - ARMENIA
    21 - LUXEMBOURG
    22 - ESTONIA
    23 - SPAIN
    24 - PORTUGAL
    25 - GERMANY
And yes, I really do fear that the public votes from the Jewish diaspora across Europe could well probably overcome the people who WON'T vote for Israel, sadly. And who knows which juries will be brave enough to give them 12 points. I think the EBU are going to be busy with their fake cheering machine tonight ...
I like your prediction of third place for Ireland. I'd love them to win the whole thing, but I think that's a stretch too far. Maybe I've got the UK too high and a few others too low, but I really can't call it this year with regard to everything outside the top ten!

Hi, yeah with everything that has happened I am already stressed out hopefully we can all try to relax and enjoy the show. I am hoping for Croatia of course. I heard some people want to boycott the show and televoting but maybe that would be favoring a certain country that is paying for ads on youtube to convince people to vote for them. I feel this year has been tainted by Israels participation unfortunately, for me the exclusion of Netherlands doesn't impact my enjoyment because if he did confront and threaten an official cameraperson, thats just shameful, even if he didnt hit her. He is there to be filmed, sorry. So if he has issues with that, he didnt have to come. But I know his fan girls will attack me now, but this is just my opinion.

AWFUL decision to get rid of my man Joost. Innocent before proven guilty! We need to stop Israel and politics winning! Baby Lasagna is the only one who can unite Europe and put music first - United by Music! Sad you're considering not filming a reaction - this is one of my favourite things to see after Eurovision!

I had tears in my eyes Tuesday night watching watching the colour excitement music and general feelgood factor Eurovision generates every year.
Its is starting to stink though, contestants constantly under pressure to boycott cant be fun for them, and while Russia are banned Israel are not for some strange reason, yet going by the odds 1/2 to win the telly vote they look set to win, i will vomit if they do and boycott the competition next year.

So many amazing songs this year, so much potential for an incredible show, and the EBU has fucked it all up. Respect whatever decision you make, Rachel 🫶🍉
