Hello ,as you are a classical musician there is a band and singer you just must know about and do a reaction to ,they are from Finland but their lead vocalist Floor Jansen is Dutch ,Nigtwish is a Symphonic Metal band , the Symphony elements are from the London Philharmonic almost all songs are written and composed by the keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, they are the most reacted to band on YT with an average of 30 reactions a day, their masterpiece Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 is also the most reacted to performance ever on YT, its' utterly unique and epic , possibly unlike anything you have heard or seen before, hope you will give it a go, be fore warned tho your channel will be swarmed by one of the biggest fan bases's on YT and you just may get addicted to this amazing band and singer, cheers

Here's my personal Top 10:
1. Norway (Just love the build up and its passionate, extatic nature)
2. Switzerland (great mix of genres, all really well performed, great message as well)
3. Italy (I really like, how she shows, that a pop song doesn't need to be standardized and can have lots of variety. Great vocals as well and I love her attitude and charisma)
4. Armenia (As you said, it's uplifting, joyful. It will be quite a highlight in the show)
5. Croatia (Fun and energetic song with good lyrics as well. I can see why it's a favorite of the public)
6. Serbia (Really beautiful song, that will stand out between all the loud entries. I hope it will be rewarded)
7. Portugal (That song grew a lot on me, although it always let's me cry when listening to it. I guess a have a sweet spot for such melancholy)
8. Belgium (The last minute is great. maybe the first half coud have benefitted from a bit more variety)
9. Estonia (Fun and catchy song. Coul maybe have benefited from some more build-up or variety)
10. Ukraine (Great vocals and rap. The song just lacks a highlight towards the end. Maybe the staging can compensate that. It looks pretty epic)

Wonderful reviews Rachel. Switzerland and Italy stand out for me. “The Code” by Nemo is like a modernised and compressed take on “Bohemian Rhapsody”. “La Noia” is musically excellent. Many great songs to choose from this year. Excited to see who wins 😊.

My gosh France on 24th place 🤨😒 Whereas Ireland, Czechia (good song, but she is weak live) higher than a gifted man with an incredible voice.. That was unintelligible... I know that you consider everything, despite that Slimane has a really simple song, his incredible full of emotion voice is truly touching plenty of people.

@eddielil348 but isn't it supposed to be a song that represents a country? How can't it be a typical French song when it comes from France. I just think that people have a problem with French representatives because they are being French. When they will be doing something else, it will be bad too.. Why don't we just appreciate how incredible a singer Slimane is ? Instead of complaining, how Frenchy does it sound?

@@monika7811 I think the issue honestly is that this doesn't really represent France as it is now. I love Slimane as an artist, and he's a top guy too, but this song is just a letdown for me (also, I live in a French speaking environment and used to live in France). If you consider that Hera Bjork's song, for example, for UK people is considered dated, then the equivalent for France would be Mon Amour to some extent. Don't get me wrong, I still think it will do very well and people will love it, but I consider it more of a cliche of France than an actual representation of France today.
Last year quite a lot of us supported Kaarija. When I watched tops I could be quite sure that people will have Finland or Sweden at the 1st place. This year is sooo unpredictable. Each person has different top. I am so excited about that!

I'd say our lists are fairly similar. I very much enjoy the Belgian track but I think they're now in trouble given the waning attention on the song and somewhat disappointing response to the rehearsal footage. Croatia is my number one followed by Norway, and then it's between Belgium and Italy.
So happy to see some well deserved respect for Belgium, especially from a musician. Whilst the live performances do not match the power/quality of the studio version, I've been puzzled by the negativity and visceral dislike for the song. And this includes many Eurovision bloggers.
Igglybuff! So cute! Looking forward to the vid with Katrina. My top 5 this year are Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Estonia, Lithuania.
I also love Bambie Thug and think they've been just brilliant for Ireland in the run up, and I hope they end the NQ streak and do Ireland proud! It's going to be A SHOW on that stage. I just can't believe it's only days away now!

Zemrën n'dorë… the one song that made me cry. There is so much emotion in her vocals, and then at the second chorus that beautiful harmony with the male background vocal… and everyone is praising Titan as an improvement, but I feel nothing, it sounds so flat.
So it felt very redeeming to hear you express my exact opinion, thank you!

Well,well....i did not expect that. I also have Belgium as my No.1 , Italy in 3rd place but im afraid the party never even got started with regards to The Netherlands...its my 32nd place!!!! Sorry. Im a ballad boy 100% so France occupies my No.2.
I fell in love with Belgium's entry immediately and i know it will remain an all time firm favourite of mine in years to come. love it. Ive been baffled by a lot of comments saying this may not Q but your thumbs up has chuffed me no end. So "thanks" and fungers crossed. I'm rooting for Belgium as well. Not only is it the best song, Mustii is a talented artist. An actor who writes his own music and dances in a very expressive and emotional way. In interviews he comes across as passionate and authentic so yeah I'm sold. Great video
As a Baltic I definitely support Igglypuff 😂😂 (not my favorite song either but would be nice for the country) and appreciate the nice words on Latvia and Lithuania.

Love your videos Rachel! I am happy that someone is giving Belgium the praise it deserves. The moment I listened to it for the first time I thought this is the winner. After Belgium great songs came out and I have the feeling that everyone forgot about Belgium. For me now is Netherland, Joost, my winner, but Belgium still top 5

Belgium is strong as a studio version but based on the rehearsal snippets, it doesn't look that great live. He doesn't have much charisma either imo. I fear he'll not do well at all

Belgium has grown off me a bit (was also my #1) but it’s so disrespected in the fandom. So happy it’s valued here. It’s very clear this fanbase feels vindictive against anything that’s not a “girl bop” and I’m sick of how sassy they think they feel when they wish that this song gets last place. Like why. Happened last year with Watergun too. There’s a difference between not liking a song and then actively “praying for its downfall”… way to yuck other people’s yum - lol.
Those people are chronically online and apart of the stanning culture, anyone who isn’t apart of that realises how silly and stupid they are. People get so invested and irrational just enjoy and support what you like. Whilst Belgium is without a doubt my number one song, i do think the end package could potentially end up mid despite being a winning song imo.

I hate how the fanbase for this contest has been getting increasingly catty and tied to stan culture as the years go by. Eurovision is not just for them, it’s for everyone. No wonder people who aren’t in on these things are turning away from the contest year by year. I know this sounds cringeworthy but stan culture has done wonders for weirdos who don’t dare go in real life and act the garbage way they act behind these pfps.

to be honest, I still favour Italy for the win. many pleasant surprises from the stagings as well, particularly from the UK.
Agree in general and specially about the winner. As it's more fun to discuss the differences of opinion:
Latvia - sorry but I think we have heard this before. He sings very well but so does the French;
Georgia - it's greatly performed but no matter the instrumentation, it's just a good pop song. Those lyrics mean very little;
Armenia - it's fun for half of the song, then it gets repetitive. With the added thing of only being 2:30 mins. Greece is miles better in its mix of genres and not getting too repetitive.

Really thought your number one was gonna be the Netherlands after your initial reaction video haha. And I love Belgium too but the vocals have been kinda letting the song down for me.
That was fun. Personally I am so so pleased that you chose Belgium over NL. Mustii sells this lyric and, from the moment I first heard it, I was imagining him singing it over the credits at the end of the final.

I think Marina does interesting compositions as she initially studied Architecture and that has influenced her way of thinking......and as a software engineer I could also see her building software (patterns, GoF book and etc.) :)
Nice list, by the way! I'll say it's somewhat different from my list, I unbelievably put Malta in my top 10. Not usually my genre, but I find that one particularly fun to listen to. Other than that it's somewhat similar to mine. Though I definitely didn't try to judge by different categories! Very much just how I felt listening to them. Good video :)

I think i got too many songs that i love this year for different reasons to make a top 5/10/35, but my favs from less popular ones definitively Czechia and San Marino, but also Estonia and Australia. The only one I really don't like is Finland and i got mixed feeling about Netherlands and Iceland. This is really good year and i can't wait for semi's to start

From your point of view I can state that your music taste base on some balads, shout screaming from musician etc. But calling your bottom picks circus songs can state your issues to other music genre...pick your words more polite, this is a competition and everyone want to present their country and music genre best they know....cheers

Anyone who has in their lyrics "meow cat please meow back" shouldn't be considered a winner, let's be fucking real. Every day I keep realise how much that song is actually bad. People keep compare it to Kaarija, and soon they gonna say "Kaarija lost last year so Lasagna gotta win this year", so here you go, I'm gonna compare it too.
That is not half as good as "Cha Cha Cha", weak production, exceptionally bad mixing, terrible lyrics (the "rim tim tagi dim" just for the sake of being catchy etc), the meowing community makes it even fucking worse, and let's not forget the lad CANNOT SING. The live DORA performance just picks it up out of the shit and dress this into fun to watch show with classic thing of having signature "dance"(?) move (that crouch with hand slams and kinda headbanging to the sides) and odd and still surprising for Eurovision rural elements like washing clothes or whatever was happening back there in DORA performance (casus of extremely pretentious Konstrakta e.g.).
Disappointing & disgraceful that this is the contender to win Eurovision but well, have it your way, Europe. The contest will be mocked of having shit & kitschy music even more.
I have no issues to other genres (quite the contrary), and if the "shout screaming" is a referrence to Norway, then let me tell you that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

With due respect...Slimane 24th is an insult to his talent. He's undoubtedly one of the top singers of this edition, and Mon amour is simple but powerful, clearly better than the majority of this year's songs. Probably not strong enough to win, but with a good performance, surely it SHOULD be Top10 material. ⭐
Talking about other entries...Italy, Croatia and Norway are high in my ranking too.
If this was the "French ballad contest of 2024" I'm sure Slimane would be number 1 🎉
Eurovision is fascinating. Half of Europe see it as a 'joke'' contest, the other half think it is a serious musical competition. Belgium my favourite, the most amusing and absurd performance of the bunch.
