When I lived in Gainesville FL ...there was a music store called Lipham's Music and I would go there on a regular basis. There was a young man there that I use to talk to and he would give me brochures on the music equipment they sold. He could tell I didn't have a lot of money ...but he treated me like I was his best customer. I finally saved up enough money to buy a Kustom amp from Don. I still have the amp and the receipt. The salesman's name on the receipt is Don Felder ...the same Don in this interview :)

I read his book and he lays it all out. He was CFO of Eagles Ltd and just wanted to see the books. The villans in the band set up a secret shell company to funnel the money away from him. Growing up in the ‘70s I was a big Eagles fan especially during when Meisner, and Felder were in the band. I heard a bit of the band’s mess back then but pretty much ignored it or avoided listening to all their troubles. Mostly because even though now I know how jerks were Frey and Henley, I basically considered both the powerhouse of the Eagles, along with Randy Meisner. What I could say for Don Felder is that if not for him there will be no song and album titled “Hotel California”. It was sure a musical gift when he came up with the beginning guitar intro to that song in his home in Malibu.

I think it's telling that The Eagles as they are now didn't put out any studio recordings since Long Road Out of Eden and also telling that they never put out a Video/DVD/Blu-Ray of their "History" Tour with Bernie guest appearing and that Azoff and or Henley seem to go back to the Classic Eagles Line-up of Henley/Frey/Meisner/Felder/Walsh when they do release any video or need to make extra money from their music. Really all they are now is just a Greatest Hits Band nothing more. The only classy thing Henley has done recently was to acknowledge Randy as a band member when he passed away and have Vince Gill sing Take It To The Limit in tribute to him and also mention Randy's passing in a statement. Frey would have never allowed that to happen.

The way I see it is once they got famous and were having hits Don and Glenn decided that they would more or less decide things with little to no input from the others.
I find it rich that Frey says he and Henley were keeping the Eagles name and music alive through their solo careers . I was a child on the 80’s and I can’t tell you how many times I heard their music on the classic country or rock music stations.
I think it’s quite telling when Frey admitted he’d only reunite for a bigger cut than the others ( excluding Don H).
In my opinion why have contracts if you you don’t want to honour them or why make Felder the CFO if he wasn’t allowed access to the financial records etc.
Plus when Henley went off about Felder’s book yet agreed to a documentary that more or less confirmed all he said in the book.
Joe and Timothy should have stood up for themselves and demanded to be treated as members of the band and not simply hired hands and also keep the money the same as before.
If Felder lied in his book why didn’t they sue dnd if he was in the wrong why did they settle the lawsuit and pay him out?
It’s the same with Lindsey Buckingham. Irving had him fired per Stevie’s request and they had to pay him out despite their comments to the press that the band would vigorously defend his lawsuit.
The Eagles are a joke now. They have one of the best guitarists and vocalists with Vince Gill and instead of making new music they are simply doing a stale hits show at sky high prices which is hilarious considering how much Henley bitched about the corporate greed in the world.
