So long, Glen. Last saw them in 94 on Hell Freezes Over Tour. But...saw them in 71 as Linda Ronstadts backing band at the Troubadour! Then in 73, 76, 77 and 78 in LA. Great to have seen them in the heyday, from Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon to Timothy B., Joe, and Don Felder. The Eagles cannot be the same without Glen. RIP

Glenn looks fairly well here. Amazing how fast someone can go down hill health-wise when they are fragile. He was not in great health last few years of his life. This Dan Patrick interview was in April 2015. He died in Jan 2016, less than 9 months later. I saw The Eagles in concert in Little Rock 3 months after this interview, in late July, 2015. The Little Rock concert was their next to last before Glenn died (Last concert was in Bossier City, LA). Glenn died less than 6 months after the Little Rock concert. Saw Tom Petty in same venue and he died 6 months after that. Bad coincidence. Loved them both. Great contributions to music.

A very underrated guitarist. Check out the live performance of "Midnight Flyer" from 1974, and the beautifully understated lead guitar he composed and played on the studio recording of Timothy B. Schmit's "I Can't Tell You Why." I can't think of another guitar solo that so perfectly complements the lead vocal. Most fans don't realize that Don Felder in concert was just duplicating what Glenn Frey created in the studio.

Everyone was standing around after the show and talking about YES but also the buzz was "Man that lead in band was great!" Little did they know it started a lifetime love affair with the Eagles. I usually saw them once or twice a year. And yes, I wept when he died like I had lost a dear friend. RIP Glen Frey.

Part 1 had 65 times (at around 11 minutes) and Part 2 had 52 times (at around 16 minutes). TOTAL: 117 times!! of "YOU KNOW" ( in about 27 minutes) if I did not miss any of them :)))) RIP Glen.
In '94 I lived in Malibu. One Sunday morning I heard most excellent rock music being jammed (drum/guitar only) from across the canyon. Sounded SO good I wondered WTF? Couple years later I learned it was Don Henley's house. I then realized, wow...that was Joe Walsh jamming with Henley to test waters for Eagles reunion -- which hadn't been announced yet.

He died of complications of ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. But nice try. I live with inflammatory bowel disease and it is devastating to your health and can be quite life threatening. Most people in society have no idea how bad IBD can be. Educate yourself, please.

Don Henley was the heart and soul of that Eagles band. I saw them in Vegas during the last tour in 1994. Just happened to be out there to get married. Tickets were reasonable and They were amazing. Chris Woosley yeah it is sad.. and so there’s a major lack of talent in the musical world now. The would be brilliant super stars of today have likely chosen other career paths as a result. No more Journeys, Van Halen’s, Eagles, etc..

Glenn Frey had an amazing career!!! Like with David Bowie the fallout of his drug addiction eventually took his life. Two beautiful artists that I have danced to many times. RIP Glenn and may God bless your family and comfort them during this hard time.

He died of complications of ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. But nice try. I live with inflammatory bowel disease and it is devastating to your health and can be quite life threatening. Most people in society have no idea how bad IBD can be. Educate yourself, please.

Heard it said that the drugs he was on for Arthritis are immune system suppressants which over time has probably contributed to the Colitis!! and yes I know!! UC nearly took my life 3 years ago.

A short 9 months after this interview Glenn was gone. Way too soon. Glad that I got to see the Eagles several years ago when Glenn and Don were touring.

Fuck. I've grown up on the Eagles, played all my parents LPs saw the Hell Freezes Over tour in high school (which was MONUMENTAL that year)-I'll miss his presence.
so Happy I saw the Eagles at MSG in 2011 or 12 with all of them JW and GF, it was an amazing concert...as someone who was born in 1971 they were def the soundtrack of my youth...
He looks so darn healthy in this. Hard to believe he had less than a year to live.

Don Henley was the heart and soul of that Eagles band. I saw them in Vegas during the last tour in 1994. Just happened to be out there to get married. Tickets were reasonable and They were amazing. I mean I've never seen so much talent in one band. They sound just as good live as on the records. Maybe better. That is unusual. Shout out to Joe Walsh.
