- Looks to me like a few of the implements they had were a tad to big for the tractors they had pulling them. Also look at the dash shot showing the digital tach. 11.6 hours on that tractor. Man what that must have felt like driving a brand new series 3 fresh off the line.
Thanks, I appreciate that you got the videos converted and made them available on CZcams to watch. Thanks Michael
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to put these up. As an Oliver/White fan and user, I enjoyed them very much.
One of the most under rated brand names in farm tractors.
This is by far my favorite series of tractors. Thanks for sharing!
These are the tractors that other tractors envy.
@@joshk.6246 exactly!
I still think they should have kept the Oliver name and colors
💯
I agree
Absolutely.
Yes it just goes to show how the big wigs in the board room are out of touch with the farmers in the field. I bet they didn’t even hire someone go out and ask a few thousand Oliver owners. It might have given them more market share but White would have screwed it up eventually.
They should of kept everything minneapolis moline and cockshutt
Ive never been so har........ Excited to see a video.
I ran 8900 series and 200 series Magnums and all I could think of was the features they had that were like the 2-model whites.
Just 20+ years later, i mean thats usually John Deere territory.
A crying shame upper-(mis)management killed the company when they had amazing engineers/engineering designing these beauties.
Pretty neat I could see the promo video for the same tractor I own today. I got a ‘83 2-155 series. Best purchase I made for the farm so far
One would thought that with all that going for them, they would have progressed further in time......I can remember seeing White Tractors at a Farmer owned dealership in the early 70's, I have no idea how long they survived......
In 2024 old white tractor are competitive in some case....very good stuff. Now all is cheap , alway in maintenance...oooo gps broke ooooo inbord pc broke.oooo.pfffff miss this era
Thanks for posting these videos, they are great!
Thks eathan these old promo,s are great
Thanks for sharing this video. I really enjoyed it I had to watch it several times!
It annoys me to hear White talk about how they pioneered all this technology many many years ago. Obviously I get it but it would've been much better to hear them say Oliver lol.
At least they acknowledge it.
You should see another video where white says they were the first to invent the plow and the tractor but we all know it was Oliver
Thanks for sharing Ethan!
I enjoyed watching the videos 😊
Love the video. I really enjoyed our 2-105, very good tractor.
Enjoyed the video 👍
Hey thanks for sharing I was looking forward to this one . They've been great tractors for us it all we ever had Oliver's n whites great equipment
Grew up watching the neighbor run his white in the fields plus his new idea combine Good video
These are so cool. Thanks
Enjoy your Videos of the Whites.
Yesterday's Heroes.
Gotta love it, thanks.
Cool video, thanks!
Very cool, thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing!
Great video, I own a 2-135 series 3 8,500 hundred hrs very depdable always starts and gets the job done, also have a 1955 Oliver with the same transmission they have the right speed for any job
👍👍 I operated a 2-155 fwa for custom guy back in spring of 85. Nice to run, I remember it being real thirsty, not as efficient as they are boasting here! Keep ‘‘em coming Ethan. I hope there is a combine film to watch
Yea even in the 2150 they were known for being thirsty. But they would out lug about anything else in their power class.
Thirsty doesn't mean it wasn't necessarily fuel efficient. It's all about how much work you can get done in a specified amount of time that makes it efficient or not.
Earlier 155 has a hercules motor and a later Cummins version in the series 3. The 3 version they claimed were better on fuel. The hercules I ran definitely liked the fuel.
The series 3 still had the Hercules, the 100 series after got the Cummins, if there's a series 3 2-155 with a Cummins, it was put there after the tractor was manufactured.

Nice video Farm Boy
Nice videos. We have 2-135 and old 2-150. Very “athletic “ tractors for their size.
Nice video. Quite a few Whites' around here in the 80s to early 90s. The farm I grew up around had a 2-135 fwa silver stripe. That had rice and canes all the way around. Neighbor down there road from my parents had a 2-180 fwa silver stripe. Wish I had a picture of the 180, he had duals all the way around. First time I ever saw a straight frame tractor with front duals. Was a mean looking tractor.
Probably float across water with all that rubber.
Very cool to see the promo stuff that was done in the day. White's were sold here in Australia but not in huge numbers I'm guessing. We did have a 4-180 when we were farming and I do recall a farm having a 2wd white in the area but don't know which model.
Most of the ones I find down there are the 4 wheel drives.
My brother had a friend who worked for a Oliver dealer when the first Whites came out they had to change something so pulled the cab up and everything was Oliver green under neath.
Impressive memory!!! I didn't see the 2-180 V8 in the video. I wish I could see some commercial from the first series. Congratulations!!!.
Yea I didn’t see it other than in the group shots.
I have a 2-105 and a 2-105. Very nice video only if there was some with a combine. I have a 5542 and a 8700 white
I’m watching this and then picturing you driving your uncles 155 😂
Yep
I remember the videos, but it was the 80's and I was just lucky to keep the old 2-105 running let a lone trading for a new one
Awesome tractors
Yep
The best that was ever built.
Fantastic video ,thanks for posting, has anybody got videos of this series 4wd Articulated tractors ? Please post .
Nice promos, yea it would have been nice to stay green and white
The styling and green and white paint scheme would of made a damn sharp tractor
I have A 2-180 toy tractor with FWA. that I got as a Christmas gift when I was 7 or 8 years old. At 42 still have it yet.
Fairly pricy toy now.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy ohhhh 👍🏾
Great to see what they used to look like 😂
Yep
One hour ago I posted part three of the history of Oliver . It focuses on the boss mustang relation to white. My guest covers these models
Smoooooth shifting 50 years later
If we could just go back in time.
Really enjoy these old advertisements, thanks for sharing. Do you have anymore to upload?
Yea
Good looking tractors especially the 2wd. Although to me the set back front MFWD axle leaves a lot to be desired aesthetically for me. Good turning radius with them like that though. Don’t need a tractor this big but I think it’d be cool to have a smaller frame one in the form of a 2-110 someday. Although maybe a 2-135 would be better to pull a 10’ discbine with.
Trust me the 110 would be plenty of horsepower, my neighbor pulls a 12 ft hay one with a 2940 Deere and we use a 1655 Oliver on a 12 foot haybine, it does great
@@joshbergellin5096 Yeah I agree under most circumstances. We usually mow with a Deere 4020 and usually it’s got enough power with a NH1411. I have however gotten into some very thick hay where it wanted to stall that tractor out in 1st gear on the first pass. Sometimes we put our turbocharged 4020 on it and then it pretty well runs away with it. If I had to farm some serious hills though I might want something bigger like a 2-135. Now something like a New Idea 5209 would be a different story. Then I’d say 2-88 all day long.
If a 2-105 will pull a New Holland 1412 7-8 mile an hour like I was using. A 2-110 will play with a 1411. And a 110 is almost 3000 pounds heavier base weight than a 4020 so that’s not an issue either.
The golden age. Got to laugh at the hours needed to disc 100 acres. 19 to 22hrs.
Plow not disk.
My mistake. I'll own it. Be safe
I love how they thought too back then still that with FWA you did not need duals . I always thought the 180 could have been a better machine since V8s were not popular any more. Tractor wise with the V8 and the Cast frame they def had the weight over the IH 5488 and the Allis 8070. But i can Remember we had a 180 and the allis 8070 on field demos with a IH 5488 and the IH Blew the 180 away in pulling power and Fuel big time. Allis had good power too and the cab was best for the time. But the 12 speed powershift lacked gears in working range. The 88 series IH STS trans was built to take up to 600 horse at that time but few knew it. How much Did white Use from Oliver and MM in those ??
Must have been a sick 180. They are tanks.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy IH was turbo and intercooled which the 180 lacked and it had to keep in high revs.
By then the 2-180 had potential buyer's Downunder had prefered other tractors such as the JD4840, IH or a CASE 1370 and the JD range had offer their air suspension seat.
Really like those videos! Keep them coming, and screw u tube, that was the of the future and a way of life in the farming world!! They don't understand that!!
Where were these tractors manufactured? Charles city?
Should left them green a named oliver an they mighta stayed around a lil longer.can you imagine john deer changing its name to orange
I have a question. I saw you bought eight new tires for your White. Two months ago l bought four new tires for my Versatile d145. They are Michelin IF620/75r30s , four tubes, a used rim, and installed for $9,500. Question is who do you think got better tire for the money?
I don’t know. You have 30s and I have 38s.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy they are the same height as 18.4-34s
You’re still trying to compare 30s to 38s so there is no comparison.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy so are you more into the belief that LSWs are better and you like shorter sidewalls? For example 24-32s are the same height as 20-38s just wider with more sidewall.
No. I’m into the belief that you are trying to compare 2 completely different tires. 30s are a bastard tire size and made in lower quantities than 38s so they are going to be more expensive by their nature. And if they are the same size as 34s then you are trying to compare 34s to 38s which is still a stupid comparison. If they won’t fit the same rim, there is no comparison. Midas well be comparing a dump truck to a Honda Civic.
Have. Had. Oliver. White. Tractor s. What’s the best way to hook and unhook the hydraulic couplers they’re always so hard to get unplugged and put back in have that trouble for years. Shut the tractor off the same thing I know it’s a closed center but what can you do I have a Mahindra tractor and they just snap right under pressure or not
I did not know the 2-180 was a V8.
3208 Caterpillar,a very faithful starter in cold weather,
Who actually made the inline 6 engines?
It was a joined venture between white and Hercules, and I think Oliver bought Hercules but idk really know
Didn't the series 3 155 run a Cummins 6?
Didn't those Whites run Catepillar engines?
The 2180s did
Be better if was Oliver
Would be better if it was Oliver, Minneapolis Moline, Cockshutt
I really had no respect for White after what they did to Oliver
I just think of em as a silver Oliver.
But I get what you're saying.
The white name got the same fate from AGCO that they gave to Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, and Cockshutt names, karma is a real B sometimes.
@@joshk.6246 that's true they got what they deserve
Not just Oliver but Minneapolis Moline and Cockshutt all three companies were great companies with their strengths and white made it all disappear I agree 100% it was a shitty thing to do
