  • Stock tank valve modification that will keep your water flowing in your stock tank. Install a needle valve to your brass valve. That will give you the flexibility to let the water drip when the temperature drops below freezing.

    Russ, another clever fix for one of those irritating problems. How many of your cows are carrying calves from the last video? I see that you will be speaking at the grazing conference in Clarion, I am looking forward to it.

    Why does this make it frost free? Great video but not sure what it does .

      You are able to leave the needle valve on or run. Water coming out of the ground is 55 degrees. So the valve uses the geothermal heat make the tank freeze proof.

    What brand of valve is that? Does it work good with dirty pond water?

    • @RussWilson
      @RussWilson  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Kevin The valve is a Mueller Valve. There's a link in the description to buy one. It's a high flow valve and very simple. It should work with pond water.

    What temperatures are you using this in? We get down to -35F in the winter and colder when you add wind chill.

      I have a friend in canada using the valve.

    No offense, but this is so much more work than necessary. All you have to do is drill a small hole in the side of the tank (which is free and takes 10 seconds) or put a small valve in the side of the tank. Accomplishes the same thing without having to take apart and damage a you’re valve.
