Skiathos 2021 - Episode 2 - Troulos - Beach, Gyros, Nectar & Ambrosia Restaurant

- In the second part of the series we explore Troulos.
This was our first experience of Troulos and got a feel of the resort.
We also made our way to the beautiful beach, walking through the Troulos Bay Hotel.
We sampled one of the local Gyros establishments and later ate at the Nectar & Ambrosia restaurant on the main street. We gave our honest opinion on the food and restaurant.

Yeah it's a lovely beach and the sea is so calm,which makes it great for swimming. Nice places to have a drink too.

Thank you. I can't recommend the place highly enough, so make a point of getting there. Possibly the friendliest island I've ever been to.

Awww man brings back such good memories of the island 😍. We never tried Troulos beach our favourite was Mandraki if you guys ever got to go? Coz of the storms last week it was too wavey and lots of sea weed got swept up 🥺.
Also we noticed a woman with her 🍉 out on the beach 😂. We came from Ibiza in July it was awful for that 🤦🏼♂️.
We love the food in Skiathos all prices are good did you like the gyros at the nimo place? We’re veggies and that was the 3rd one we tried but they’re all slightly different. Good Vlog 🙌🏼
We've never had time to get to Mandraki beach. The weather has been well and truly scuppered with the weather, those 3 days really put a dent in our plans. I hope people are enjoying what they see though and what I have left to put together in future content from Skiathos.
Yeah it’s one of the best we’ve seen for Skiathos 🙂 thats a shame I don’t think Mandraki will be good now for the rest of your trip stick to the others I think. I can’t believe the weather got better on the day we left on Saturday 😞 here today is like 18 and cloudy it’s reverse.
The weather was crap we got drenched we had a quad bike for the week and on Thursday we went over to Skopelos absolutely drenched but we had a pukka day though half of it dressed as bright traffic cones with ponchos on 😂.
If your in Skiathos town again we recommend Ergon on the Main Street in town you’d love it 😘👌🏼 Greek Italian food give it a try 😋

It's a really chilled out place. All the people have been lovely. It's almost like normality returned.
@@continentalcoxons So nice to see.. I'd love to go to Thailand or somewhere but everyone's covered in masks so I don't even want to think of that now. Greece was a good choice!
@@ThreeStarVagabond yes we though about Thailand again back a few months ago but they went back into lockdown as their cases spiked again. They were hoping to be fully open by October.
@@continentalcoxons Yeah, but since things are so uncertain I don't even dare hope that things will be open e.g. by Christmas. Oh well.. Maybe next year...

So strange to see swans in the sea. They are river birds. I saw them at troulos with cygnets two years ago..before that i stayed in vromlimnos bustop 11 or 13 cant remember and also skiathos town
Yeah it is strange. They must come from the small river just behind the beach. Its a lovely stretch up that coastline up to Skiathos Town.
When will you visit Skiathos again? We are taking some of your tips with us in September - where would you say the BEST food you had on the island was? Fi x
Not too sure, we never usually book that far in advance unless we are going somewhere far flung. Usually only book about a month before when heading to Greece etc.
I would say the best food we had was at Nectar & Ambrosia in Troulos. Ate there a few times and was fantastic both times. There are so many good places to eat though.

We've tried to go twice, once for my 40th and once for our 10 year anniversary, but here's hoping post-covid it will happen this time. I've just bought my husband a gopro, so I'm sure he will be vlogging.

Yeah Nectar & Ambrosia was so good. Never really had a bad meal in Troulos though.
Staying at the Nina Areti, Troulos, self catering in Sept. Can you tell me anything about this place? What is the temperature from mid Sept?
Temperature is usually in the mid 20's I'd say although we had a bit of bad weather when we were there. I think it can be a bit changeable at that time of year.
Trpulos is a lovely resort, nice a quiet but plenty to keep you going. Excellent restaurants and the beach is lovely too.
Not too sure about Nina Areti though, I think we may have looked at staying there when we were looking. I think itnmay be up a bit of a hill maybe? I could be wrong.

We stayed at Morfia, was a lovely family run place would definitely stay again. Glad you enjoyed it.

We got married at the bourtzi in town and stayed at the byzantium apts in 2009
Ah lovely, we actually saw a wedding being set up when we were in Skiathos Town. Byzantium looked a nice place to stay too, think it's in one of our later videos as we walk past it and I mention it.
@@continentalcoxons yeah my husband said you walked up the rabbit run to the byzantium. We had our wedding dinner in what seems to be the pizza place now. It was fab to see it all on your video
