- Yep, here we go again! A NEW Budget Civic Build begins with the Perfect example of a stock $900 Honda Civic. We'll be taking this 2000 Honda Civic EX from eeeesh to sheeeesh in no time. Let's GO!
The Goal: Make this car as good as I possible can with little time and little money. I've done it before and I'm going to do it again with budget cap of $3000. Buying a cheap (running) car in today's market is beyond hard to find, but I think I hit the jackpot. This is a 2000 Honda Civic EX (Ek Coupe) with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, 217K Miles, D16Y8 VTEC Motor, with everything THAT WORKS. Talk about lucky.
My friends and I wanted a challenge to see who can buy the cheapest car and make it clean enough to sell for more than what we put in. Physically transforming a Honda Civic is a strong point for me, and this time I'm going to do it a bit different. My Red Civic is still my pride and joy, but I DO think I can make this thing turn heads on the cheap. So join me as I show you how to make a budget car even better with the right funds in the right places!
In the next video I'll explain how I got this car for $900 as the story is quite funny. Let's just say I went through a lot of crap cars before finding this one. Patience is key! As always, thanks for watching and stay tuned for more Civic content!

Appreciate it man!
He got me into civic

I got myself a 2001 civic lx for 1400 with 245k on it and it drives like new just don’t have ac😂
I just bought a 99 civic 5 speed for 800 bucks… runs amazing!!
Just got myself a 1996 ej8 coupe with 93,000 miles on it, all stock, love it to death!!
Nice I had 83,000 when I got my EJ9 for £600
Had a ej9 with full service history and 68k miles for 800....wish I didn't sell it now. Not the fastest car I have owned but was fun around corners
I bought a coupe too recently to restore. Excited to see how different you make this one!
I hope I can do it some justice!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY 100% You will 🙌
1994 honda civic ex sedan 101,000 original miles 1.6 vtec garage kept perfect condition in and out 👌
I found myself a 97 EX with only 125,000 miles for only $2100. I pick it up tomorrow 😊
Pricey.. I got a 2006 LX Coupe with 185k for 1300...way better Gen.. I mean just look at the 06s..
@@kevinwhiting8391 Not a better gen lol 6th gens and 5th gens are the best hands down
yikes man you paying about 1100 too much
1000 for my ex only the ac and driver window doesnt work has 140k miles ive put gas maybe 3 times in the past year
How is it
got mine for $5 a few years ago from an old lady with 168,000 kilometers on the car lol. OEM plus look on got good coils and tires wrapped around IMPUL RS's. Super fun to drive! Still going strong today at 200,000 kilometers now!
Wow these engines can go over 200k miles! Mine now has 52,000. I purchased it with 28,000 miles three years ago, it was a lottery find as it had been garaged for 18 years and only occasionally driven. I uploaded a quick video of it.
Only the fan boys know it's just broken in 🔥
Haha yep!
No matter what i try and look for, I always come to love how the old civics look ! Cant wait to see the progress dude ! love the EK chassis !
Thanks man! Hope it turns out great!
Damn, you made me happy with this video! Really excited for the series, cuz im looking for ideas for mine civic em2. Those videos give me motivation and I was sad that I watched all the red civic ones already. Also good luck with the competition, you have the force of vtec in you!
Holy , the levels of improvements to your filming and editing is phenomenal !
So excited for the new civic vlogs. Easily one of my favorite channels.
Thanks man that means a lot!

Ant: Bought other Civic
Lancer Evo: Am I joking with you?
Pretty much haha
@@ALLDAYANTHONY bruh my civic has 289k miles still running fantastic
Sheesh what a great find!! I'm in Washington and just spent over a month looking for a 1996-2000 civic ex manual (could be 2 or 4 door) for under $3500. Well long story short after looking at 18, yes 18 cars that had everything from check engine lights I wasn't told about to completely soaked and molded interiors that I was told was perfect. A few cars that said they were 1xx,000 but they were actually 2xx,000 and not like 210 but like 280-290,000 miles. I ended up settling for an automatic but exact same spec and year as yours with 183,000 miles. Otherwise bone stock and mechanically clean other than a stolen cat but repaired "correctly" so CEL p0410 for secondary 02 obviously. Otherwise perfect. Got it for $2200 so not bad but not as good as deal as yours.....for a manual too!!! I'm jealous.
So I'm doing a budget build as well and already ordered some rev9 hyper one coilovers for $399, ordered grill, visors, sunroof visor, front lip, fog light kit, "EK" floor mats, and crystal tali lights (old ones cracked) as well as full exterior bulb upgrade. I'm in under $800 in parts so far befor wheels and tires but I'll probably find a set locally. Has 14" del sol wheels currently. Baby fat fives I call them lol.
Continue to make these types of videos, someone like me who is looking for their first car to be a project car, these videos are super helpful
This series should be called Flip my Civic.😆
270700 on my 98 EX Sedan, only thing that sucks is that the fuel gauge is faulty but other than that it runs like a champ 🤞
Not bad for $900.
I remember your red one, similar to this one.
Man, I could that big parking lot, for driving lessons in.
Thanks for the video, Anthony.
This is awesome bro! You’re journey with the red coupe inspired me to get back in a coupe which happens to be taffeta white so I’m super excited to see what’s in store for this one keep up the amazing work and thank you for your videos!👍🏾
Thanks fam!
Damn $900 is a steal! You got to do an engine bay detail/maintenance video! Mine is exactly like that and I don't know where to start!
Where I live these go for less than $500 😬
@@bobandtay7139 oh, where ?
The engine bay detail will come soon!
My first new car 04 Civic 332k miles now. My daily is a 19 Accord Touring 2.0t. Awesome content!
Hell yeah man love the new accords
Haha i have an 04 Civic with 186K rn
@@guardian8319 😁 3 timing belt & water pump kits so far. The starter & alternator failed @200k. The AC compressor failed @315k. Religiously maintained. It’s been the best car!
Can’t wait for this, I love these civic videos, definitely my favorite.
Appreciate it man!
This channel seriously deserves more subs honestly!

Thanks dude
Another civic! I can't wait to see which way you go with this one.
I love the 2 door version, sadly we only have the 4 door version here in Malaysia. Building it tho!
4 doors are great too!
Love the 4doors especially the SiR.
Hopefully you have some extra parts left over from the red one to get this one looking mint ASAP!!! Can’t wait! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Another great buy. Nice 👌👍👏

79thProduction vs Anthony would be something awesome to watch
Haha he will always have a faster civic than mine
They both great to watch
Hahaha
79th is the king of cheap honda builds. if he didnt keep all of em he could make bank
Excited for the content. I like these projects more than the GTR ♻️ most channels do. It’s more practical and relatable.
Thanks man! Definitely more relatable to most people
Glaaad ur back with the civic vlogs

Thanks for loving Hondas bro, went from an 2011 civic SI to FK7. And it makes me happy asfuck not the fastest thing in the world but deff know it'll be worth more than some dudes mustang in 2030 lol. New subscriber cuzz!!
Do a cut bumper!!! Perfect candidate especially if your not doing a spoiler
are we going to see what cars your friends got?
Soooo sweet. Can’t wait to see the outcome of this thing!

I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX Sedan, I'll follow your series and see if I can't make my car a bit better, I wish it was a couple but since it's my first car, I'm still grateful for it. Can't wait to see what this one will look like when it's done.
New to the channel and I like what I see so far.
I rate the sedans, I've always kind of wanted one!
I've got a Civic with 87,000 miles. It is my first car and I love it so much :) I'm planning on getting it polished along with getting an aftermarket catback exhaust.
That’s crazy I got my 1997 Honda Civic Dx for 350 and put 200 to get it running
That EJ is actually pretty nice! Great platform to start with 👌🏻
Thanks man
My parents still have their 1999 Civic EX sedan in Iced Teal Pearl since new. Currently 154k miles. I just threw some EM1 alloy wheels on there this March. I was motivated after watching a few videos on your channel and did some repairs and detailing on ours shortly after. It’s in the shop now actually to do a few more repairs to it. Plan to bring it around the local Cars and Coffee soon.
Dude that’s awesome!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Indeed! Check out my insta mchua0302 for a few recent exterior pics if you (or anyone else seeing this comment) are curious. Fully stock besides the wheels.
YESSSS Imma watch the shit out of this. Just bought a 99 EXR myself a month ago so let's see how we do.
I live your content finally you got a new build I’m so excited to see it look 👀 good with wheels and some coilovers
Thanks man!
Aye boise/meridian! Nice to see a fellow idahoan with a EK civic 🤙🏾
Bought myself a 98 ex 5 speed for $800 last year. Was running and driving. Bought it after watching your vlogs 😎 Wish I could do a cool challenge build with it. Working on pulling the engine to do a rebuild
Love it making me miss my ek3 and eg8 😔 gotta get another civic
Best way to do it🙌🏻
1999 Honda Civic ex had it for a year runs like a champ gaping car with 305557 mile on it 💯💯💯
Got myself a 97 EJ Civic with 55,000 miles on it at purchase a few months ago, such a good car.
That's still for 900$ nice!!!! Yesss more EK blogs 👌
I think so too man!
Dude nice steal of a deal 😮🙌🏽. I got mine for $600 and I’d have to compare it to your white civic 🙌🏽super clutch I missed the civic blogs
Thing is... We all know your videos now and would LOVE to buy anything you fix up! You can make this thing CLEAN
I got an 8th gen civic ex with 130k, runs like new 5 speed manual as well
True civic lover💜
Honestly with the spoiler thing, I wouldn't put an obnoxious one on, but maybe a small duck tail would be just fine
I just bought a 2003 Civic 1.6 VTEC here in the UK as a second car this week. Its stock and in great condition cosmetically and mechanically. Paid £1400 (1900 USD) Got to love an old Civic👍
I got 317,000 on my 2000 civic ex and still running strong! It’s my daily
Last summer, bought this same year and trim except with factory aluminum wheels and spoiler, under 60k, never seen snow. Got a price I couldn't pass up from its first owner. Then ended up with two Honda's. (2021 Accord Touring.) Love them both. Have a hard time deciding which to drive on a daily basis. Obviously, the d16y8 is a dog, but with a manual it's still super fun to drive. I feel guilty every time I think of doing anything to the civic, because it's original and in such great shape. So, not sure where I will go with that...
My man always got that good good music!!!
Intros with music is my favorite part to make haha
Excited to see yet another civic on the channel :) going to be interesting how you make due with $3k
Haha me too
Just bought a 96 civic dx 5speed with a 104000 mileage everything on it is clean perfect condition runs great Little squeaky with a suspension... I love it only paid 2,500 for it
That was a steal for $900. I throughly enjoy the red civic content and I’m looking forward to the white civic content over the next few months. I’ll be keeping an eye out for when you put this one up for sell. Hopefully I can get lucky.
Thanks man! Stay tuned
Just wow! i recently brought my Honda Civic 96 but I'm in love with your car lol
Haha thanks man
I’m so excited to see this build. Hopefully we see a engine swap😏😬
good buy, I've had one for about 9 years of the same year.250000 mi, but I just blew my headgasket. Put in a new gasket but am losing coolant so I'm probably in need of a rebuild or find a let used motor.
Patina.
These old Hondas age well.
Love my '97 Hatch :0
Just got a 05 dx for $1500 with 231k absolutely love it
197k I’ll upload a vid of mine here soon, you got one and I saw on Instagram and had to buy another this past weekend 😅 you inspired me
I just bought a 2002 red Honda civic ex, it's really fun to drive
3 of the best attributes to this civic: 99-00 body style, champ white paint, and manual tranny! its worth a lot, very collectible and sought after
Taffeta white.....championship white is civic type r only.
The clean up vlog is going to be so satisfying 😌
I think so too!
my em1 is @ 143k, stock with coils, can’t wait to see the outcome of this build
Thats a clean one been looking for same car
Nice pickup Anthony! Picked up my 93 eg sedan 1 year ago with 165k I’m up to 173k now 💪🏽🤛🏽
Awesome score! I recently picked up a mint 99 EX with 66k OG miles! Only thing wrong with it is its an auto!
Oh nice same year I have a 2000 Honda Civic LX sedan
BIG spoiler ;)
Excited to watch the project!
1994 civic coupe EX 309,xxx miles still rollin strong :D
Another big project 👍
Civic mods and vlogs are my favorites.mostly the 6th gen civics
Thanks man!
Thank you for replying back. THIS MEANS SO MUCH TO ME. YOU JUST MADE MY DAY BETTER
My 97 Honda Civic EX has 303,123 miles. Original motor and transmission. It's been a daily driver work horse since it was born. Tomorrow I am going to change the transmission fluid (5 speed manual) and I also need to fix a vacuum leak and MAP sensor issue. After that it's good to go until forever...
Haha I think so too
I just bought a 2000 DX D16Y7 manual, my first project car, exceptionally clean, the interior is perfect, 173,000 miles! And I only dropped $1500 on it. Runs like a champ. And I am totally out of my depth. I am loving it. This is a great find, $900 is an absolute steal. Cannot wait to see how this goes.
That’s awesome
Wow looks jus like mine when I first got it brings back memories
I picked up mine for 1800 with brand new coil overs. Wheels and tires, and good condition black prelude seats 😳 5 speed and EX as well. With the Blackhawk paint. All original panels never crashed. Year 2000
A spoiler would be the icing on the cake
i bought a 2000 civic coupe DX for 750$ with a whole right side dented in from the door to fender, its a 5spd with 140k miles for my first manual car. Ive already had offers of 2500$ but its a southern car so theres .2% rust only being lightly rusted bolts. your red civic gave me the inspiration and so happy i got my civic.
Great deal! And easy fix
@@ALLDAYANTHONY *update* i was driving it around, i end up going to eat and an hour later i come back to my civic oil completly drained out onto the ground and we had to push it to my grandparents house which was down the block but we shall see in the morning what caused that
2005 ex sedan, 140,000 miles, check engine light on and off, air bag light never goes out, winter tires in the summer, stock everything except the trunk lid cause my brother backed into a pole (ex spoiler no back up light), cat is rusted to the moon, fuckin mint, couldn’t be a prouder civi owner 👌🏻
That rear muffle delete gave it 200 hp 😂😂 Can’t wait for this civic build 🥳🥳
Hahaha at least it sounds like it
I hope I can live there and get a honda civic coupe for only 900$. Price here in ph are on 3000$ up and they are automatic transmission sedan 🤦 I’ll save to buy one someday because i’m inspired by you ❤️ Keep it up Anthony! 🙏
