    Steve,
    The competency of VRMA management is troubling. I remember how valuable VRMA conferences and education were to the growth and success of our company. I also remember “Save VRMA” and the effort that went into building a professional trade organization.
    As I recall when you and I were on the board, financial statements were reviewed monthly. The Board also had foresight and approved a minimum Reserve fund for emergencies. Being on the Board was not a junket. We paid for our conference registration, lodging and travel.
    Last year when making a decision on a new PMS I spoke with the plethora of companies at the conference in Orlando. Few understood Trust Accounting that is required in regulated states and I don’t recall any that knew about the new Federal E-filing requirement.
    I have been underwhelmed by the current management company, conference planning, education, communication, and reorganization of the VRMA Board and Executive Committee.

    Like conferences in most industries the fees and travel costs of attending scare off smaller operators say 100-200 units.
    This has always been the case, but as online content grows it covers most anything a conference can offer
