Prepping is the Worst Idea Ever!? You Can't Make This Up

  • I recently got a comment on my video about tips for new preppers about how prepping is pointless and as they say, "The worst idea ever." Because there were so many prepping cliches and misconceptions in the one-paragraph comment, I wanted to break it down in this video.
Prepping is about so much more than some fictional Mad Max fantasy or Zombie Apocalypse; it's about being prepared for whatever you might face and doing it the way that works best for you.

I went through the Texas deep freeze, i was not prepared. No power, without water, stuck in freezing conditions for days. That taught me to prepare for “multiple scenarios”. Prepping to protect my family is common sense.

Honestly, if I was preparing for the Mad Max scenario, I would have invested in assless leather chaps

The main reason that I prep and set aside is for my children and my grandchildren.

Well, two summers ago I broke my R foot and that was a semi-SHTF event for me because I’m on oxygen too, so it was a huge PITA to drive (take off boot, put boot back on) and then mere weeks after I got the okay to go bootless, I got sick with a weird bacterial infection that took me out for an entire year (luckily I was able to remain at home rather than the hospital). It was just awful. But I put fewer than 100 miles on my car in that 12 months. I ate from my pantry and freezers almost exclusively. The “apocalypse” we prepare for can take many different forms. I’m 64 btw and my kids live hours away and I’ve lived alone for several years.

While some may dismiss prepping as a waste of time, it is essential to recognize that emergencies and unforeseen events can occur at any moment. Prepping serves as a proactive approach to ensure one's readiness to face unexpected challenges, providing a sense of security and self-sufficiency. In times of crisis, those who have invested time in prepping are better positioned to navigate uncertainties and safeguard themselves and their loved ones.

As a 60 yr old woman, I got the bug that went around awhile back. Im single, kids on other end of the country n had no help. I was too sick to go to the store for about a month n didnt need a thing. No worries. I was so glad i could stay in out of the weather n rest. Last winter we got several feet of snow in 2 days. No one vould get out for over a week. I was fine. I hunkered down n watched videos n canned up some more food.

To me prepping is just another form of insurance.
People that don't prep are stuck in a phase of normalcy bias.

You gave this more attention than I would have. Let them sit in their mommy's basement and munch on popcorn that they let someone else buy because they are to lazy to get a job.

When somebody says prepping is a waste of time that's the same as somebody who's of the opinion that you're wasting your time learning self-defense because you're going to be accosted or assaulted by somebody with a gun and it takes time to learn. It's the same attitude as a person that's never played Dungeons & Dragons but says that it's a silly game played by Nerdy kids that don't want to play sports or live in reality, but the fact is I used to play those games with my brothers and it takes a lot of reading and learning and you learn a lot of stuff from those games and you also engage socially with others. The weight of these attitudes relate to prepping is people will talk about prepping who have never tried so much is putting together a first aid kit or dehydrating some fruit for snacks. They think because they've seen some depictions of peppers on television that they understand we're prepping is all about but of course they have no clue but Preppers understand that when the crap hits the fan we will be the cool people and all our efforts will suddenly make sense to the morons that don't even have flashlights and a few days worth of food in case of a power outage or a tornado or some kind of event

You CAN NOT take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first and foremost.
It may sound selfish, but is it.
A newborn to six year old needs you. After that self survival sets in and it is primal even at a young age.

The guy missed the whole point. I'm an old guy whose ride is almost over. My preparation is to protect my family from the poor choices of others. Teaching my kids to do the same for their families was an important part of it. This Mad Max guy has watched too much TV.

😂 my friend don’t take that personal that prepping is the worst thing to do in the world that’s I found through the years to be the person that is too busy spending their money on McDonald’s and marijuana rather than trying to protect themselves in their family for what could happen in the future so just shake it off let it go bro in the end they’ll come to take your stuff and they’ll bring stuff in their pockets to resupply you as you drop them at the door like I’m planning on doing I’ve got a list I’ve been saving receipts for their running their mouth for years. All shit breaks loose they better hope the cops can help them because God won’t.

Don't give attention to these plonkers.
Preppers aren't prepping for the zombie apocolypse. We prep for real life problems that come up regularly.
When there's a loo roll, rice, baked beans, whatever shortage, that person will be knocking over a granny in
order to grab something from the shelf, whilst preppers are sitting back eating popcorn, watching the carnage on the six o'clock news.
