Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, minister, dear family, dear everyone - not least you, who have come two by two from all corners of the kingdom.
It is great for me to stand here today.
Thank you, Grandma, for the kind words and the beautiful celebration.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for supporting me and being there for me all the way.
And thank you to all the young people who are here today. It feels really good to be surrounded by so many peers.
We are not the same, but we stand in the same place in life. We have something in common. And tonight is new for all of us. That makes it a little easier. And I need that right now.
Last summer I had to start 2nd grade at a new high school. I was nervous. Really nervous. Everyone in my new class had known each other for a year. I was the new him.
So there I was, with a high pulse and a dry mouth, on the threshold of something new. I got over myself, got to say "hello" and introduce myself to my new classmates. They welcomed me and one step at a time I got to know the tone, the routines and the other students. Today it is hard to understand what I was so nervous about.
It happens often; we fear something that lies before us, and as soon as we are past it, it seems completely harmless. I remind myself of that when I get nervous. I reminded myself of that before I had to stand here today.
Because it is great to stand here with the country's highest order and a special responsibility resting on my shoulders. Fortunately, I don't have to carry it alone, nor from one day to the next. I am excited, but also comfortable and proud to be part of my family, and I take pride in having to serve my country. So even though I shake my hands a little today, I have my heart in the meeting with the future.
Many of us young people experience that there are high expectations of us. Both from ourselves and from others. To a large extent, expectations become a pressure.
Too many people don't feel they can live life the way they want to. But in reality we can only be who we are. You may not be the funniest or the smartest in the class, but then you are something else.
We don't have to be the most or the best to deserve a place. And I say that, even though there are a few handfuls here tonight who are at the very top when it comes to culture and sport.
You are a huge inspiration - and I myself love both watching and playing sport - but I would never get on the field if I demanded of myself that I should be at your level.
Think how much we miss out on if we don't dare to try new things. We don't have to be a talent to join in or have fun. We like to practice and go for the win, but we are more than our defeats and victories. No matter what course they take place on.
Of course I want to be the best heir to the throne imaginable, but I'm definitely going to step aside. There might not be holes in my socks on my first official visit … dad … but then it will be something else.
I can't deliver perfection, because what is perfection anyway, but I can promise dedication. I will give everything I have and learn everything I can.
Dear Mom and Dad, You have always looked after me and Isabella, Vincent and Josephine. Everyone in our family knows that we can turn to each other and find strength right there. If one person is low on energy, there is always someone else in the family who has surplus.
We count on each other because we have always been able to count on you. Like when I had to give a speech to my godson at Berleburg a few months ago. Without a word, you got me up at the right time despite my nerves. You have always both guided and given freedom. You have always given me the opportunity to take one step at a time.
Today is one of those steps. There are many more to come. Because we come of age in one day, but we become adults along the way.
I would like to thank everyone who helped celebrate me. Both you who are here and all of you who have sent greetings and gifts. I will never forget today. But maybe I will remember it as less challenging already tomorrow.
I have to find my way, even if it leads to a familiar place. I have roots in many places in the world and I enjoy traveling. But home will always be here. Because I love my country.
I suggest that we rise together and raise a toast to the Kingdom of Denmark. - Zábava

There are so many positives about this event. It was so nice to see young people all cleaned up and looking nice. (Usually, these events have people two steps away from the grave 😅) The choirs sounded beautiful. All his cousins, aunts, uncles (aka all of the Scandanvian royalty...) showed up as well. But I must say HRH Princess Estelle (I think I have her title correct...if not-oh well) was so pretty in her pink dress. You can tell this was her first "grown-up" party, and she looked so wonderful. All of the young royals looked fabulous. I dont care what everyone else has to say, I think this was a great event for all of us to watch and enjoy a special day for Prince Christian, his family, and the country of Denmark. Thanks, Alexandra, for keeping us informed on this fun and exciting royal event.
Dear @shilohwoods4516, I'm afraid this is actually HRH Princess Estelle's second "grown-up" party, as the first one was HRH Princess Ingrid Alexandra's official eighteenth birthday gala in Oslo last June 2022. I do agree with you concerning everything else.

Actually, Estelle was invited to Ingrid Alexandras 18th birhtday last year :) And she also attended her grandfathers jubilee concert not to long ago. But she looked so sweet. I think she enjoyed herself more than most

I love that His Order of The Elephant was previously used by H.K.H Prince Henrik, so touching.
I remember when CP Frederik & Mary Donaldson got married, I can remember the day HRH Prince Christian was Born & how Happy, Tired but Happy The Crown Princely Couple were & so very excited. I remember his Christening & the arrival of his Siblings & also their Christenings. It all seem like only a few months ago, certainly not so many years ago. He seems to have grown into a lovely young Man, very respectful & well mannered. It's not surprising that HM Queen Margrethe ll presented Prince Christian the Order of the Elephant (by the way, did you know that CP Mary was given the Elephant that had been Queen Ingrid's ? Frederik's beloved Grandmother) but I was surprised that King Harald V awarded him the Order of St Olav, so quickly. The Monarchs of Denmark, Norway & Sweden all share a Strong Bond, as well as being Cousins, their Countries have all been Ruled by each other Historically. Some of them are related on both the Maternal & Paternal sides. Queen Margrethes Mother, Queen Ingrid was Swedish by Birth & King Harald Vs Grandfather, King Haakon Vll was a Danish Prince, (Prince Carl of Denmark) who was offered the Crown of Norway after the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden in 1905. Interestingly, Haakon Vll would only accept the throne if the people of Norway accepted him. An election was held & over 90% of Norwegians wanted him to be King. So I suppose it's not that Surprising that Prince Christian received the Order of Olav. Excellent Video, Thank you.

What a wonderful ceremony, where there seemed to be an elegant atmosphere, full of youth, good family understanding, joy and a feeling of support and encouragement for the destiny that Prince Christian will have as the future heir to the Danish Crown.
It was also very beautiful to see future heirs to the throne of 5 more European Monarchies, and it should be noted that Prince Christian is the only man among the 4 other Monarchies present.
Queen Margaret II of Denmark seemed to be very happy to see the future of her Kingdom assured by a promising heir. Crown Princess Mary was clearly moved to see her son starting a more formal life in terms of social participation. And what brought tears to my eyes were the wise and appropriate words addressed to his son, as the future heir, namely, and I quote, "To fail is to learn".
I also enjoyed hearing Prince Christian hear that he loves to travel but that his place will always be in his country, which predicts the beginning of the long journey that Prince Christian will begin in his process of living life, but also of training and maturing in preparing the future that is destined for his life. Congratulations to Prince Christian for his 18 Anniversary, and sincere wishes for a long, healthy and happy life. And , thanks to this channel , and to Alexandra , for this special Royal Reports.

Professor Donaldson and his wife, Susan, currently live in Hobart, Tasmania. He is elderly and the long trip to Copenhagen would have been quite difficult for him.
@@TheRoyalCorrespondent thank you for your response! I know Mary's dad lived in Denmark at one time and I think he was a professor at the University of Copenhagen. Did he leave Denmark a long time ago? I also know that there was a lot of tension between Mary and her family, especially between her brother, two sisters and her. Do you know what all that was about?
He sadly could not make the travel because of health issues. Crown Princess Mary’s nieces from Australia were there, though.

Actually they have. Just think of the scandals of Juan Carlos of Spain. The former king and queen of Belgium were also considered somewhat scandalous. Then there were the escapades of King Carl Gustav of Sweden. It's just the British royals get more publicity.

The most important Crown Princess of all I believe, is Leonor of Spain. Spain is in turbulent times politically and economically, her popularity might help boost the country. In my opinion, Prince Christian looks more like Crown Princess Mary. He's also incredibly tall like his Aunt Jane. However, I do notice that his mannerisms are very much like Crown Prince Frederik's.

Commendations to you for speaking out about the way the Danes pass the monarchy to a new generation. The decorum of the Royal Family in contrast to that of the British is to be admired and should serve as role models. The British Coronation of the new King Charles lll does little to erase the public’s memory of his wish to be a tampon. This family ‘s reports of bulimia, toe sucking, pedophelia, and racism are never far from public memory. They can wrap themselves in ermine but the underneath their moral integrity is sorely not on display. Frederick, Mary and family are so admirable!

It does! Elephants do have a certain reverence here. People who initially received The Order of the Elephant back when it was created were deemed the Elephant Knights. The elephant was an old symbol of piety and god-fearing here, so the order does have its religious roots in Christianity, and it said to have been created sometimes in the 1400's.
