- You never know what-or who-you’ll run into In the Aisles. In this episode, Derek talks to MOPAR journalist, professional wrencher and CZcams host, Steve Dulcich. Hear about Steve’s favorite aisle at O’Reilly Auto Parts (”where you go to have fun”), the high-mileage first car his brother tried to talk him out of buying (but he still owns), and the project car he and Derek call Vanishing Paint. In Steve’s words, “It’s like a support group-you can just validate all the things you’re doing wrong by inviting me over.”

Derek focuses on budget builds, rescues, and how to's for the common folk. From classic cars to tractors Derek has been there and driven it home 600 miles.

Dulcich is truly The Automotive industry's "Worlds most interesting Mechanic"
love this dude
Glad to see Steve gaining so much popularity. He’s a guy that impossible not to like. Talk about a humble guy with TONS of knowledge and experience.
His resume is a mile long. He even worked for Daaaaavid Viiiizaaaard.
Hilarious at times as well
Dulcich is such a natural, these 2 guys in the same room is the best
Absolutely! They’re both so experienced and just down to earth good people.
Funny thing is that frieburger couldn't use him for years because he froze up on camera. Took awhile to get him comfortable.
Agreed!
How many people agree that Lucky Costa would make a good guest for Derek ?
Birdsong too!
You’ve got my vote!
Lucky be perfect.
🙋🏻♂️
Damn good idea
Steve Dulcich is the the Dr Emmett Brown of hot rodding. Absolutely love this guy.
Great Scott!
Two absolute American car legends right hear, love this episode this is why I dont watch TV.
Well, motor trend is ok!
Steve Dulcich was THE definitive Mopar voice in the late 90s and early 2000s. He and Frieburger made Mopar mainstream.
Derek and Dulcich are great together!
These 2 guys are rock stars when it comes to fixing old junk and hot rods !! I love their laid back attitude !!
Suddenly only having 3 projects doesn't seem so bad.
He’s worth watching. Cracks me watching him and his ease of knowledge and repair.
Dulcich is a treasure....i honestly love the shows he does more than just about any other ones
I was upset when Dulcich came along and thought we'd be losing Finnegan. Now, Finnegan is just a hack. Long live Dulcich!!!
Another great episode, Thanks O'Reilly's Derek and Steve.
Best episode yet. The Dulcich has to be one of my favorite car nerds. Loved the Q&A picking yous guys brains. Thanks for a great one.
Two legends at one table! Love to see it!
steve's my favorite guy on MT. seems like the real deal. Well, Derek is up there too now. Both of these guys together is peak MT.
This was brilliant. We need a build asap with the two of them
For the guy with the F350 with the 460 and C6 trans: You can also check the vacuum modulator on the transmission to see if it's giving you a vacuum leak-which will also cause pops and stuttering from a lean condition.
Dulcich is such a cool guy. He's super humble yet very knowledgeable, especially on the Mopar stuff. Love his builds, articles and shows 👌
Awesome Interview to both of you guys. Derek and Dulcich seem to be great guys and would be a great time to hang out with them both. Dulcich is a Mopar genius. I wonder who would win a Mopar Trivia Game, Steve Dulcich or Mark Worman of Graveyard Cars. Thanks for sharing your time guys.
Put uncle tony in that also. And dead dodge garage.
Dulcich for President! He is just the best. So funny. So humble.
I appreciate this getting dropped at noon. Gives me something to do at work for an hour or so.
LOLS 🤣😂🤣
Doing the same thing...lol
Shhhhhhhhh, not so loud! 😂
@@sharkinstx my supervisor actually was walking over to my cube and saw my headset on. Said, “oh, your on a call” and walked away…perfection!
One of the best shows so far!! I thoroughly enjoy all of them, but this one was really good!! Steve is like an encyclopedia of all things automotive especially when it comes to Mopars!! Thanks Derek for all of your hard work bringing us all of this outstanding content! You do an awesome job teaching us in a fun & entertaining way that keeps us wanting more!!
I could listen to Steve tell stories and talk about engines all day such an interesting guy to listen to
Dulcich is freaking awesome! One of my favorite host. I genuinely love the faces he makes while concentrating 🤣
This was an absolute treat to watch. Two of my favorite men to watch putter around in their garage. Put the two together and magic happens...
I really enjoyed this interview. Steve seems like a really nice guy. Just like Derek. 😊
This is the best episode of the series yet. You and Steve are so awesome together. Watching this was like taking a college course in basic garage mechanics.
This is the best In the isles you have done to date. Thanks and keep it going 😊
Dulcich is a cool dude. Just seems like a genuine guy. That was a good episode!
Great interview. Dulcich is the man! You too Derek!
I haven’t even started watching yet, and I’m pumped about this episode!!
I felt the same. I just wanna hang out and watch these guys work. Pure Gold!
This was awesome. Thank you for interviewing Steve
Steve is a beauty , Derek sure has clout to reel these people in . Cheers 🇨🇦
Man I've always been a dodge truck fan and would read Steve's editorials in Mopar Muscle on them. And when I saw Freiburger and Finnegan head to his farm for the Cropduster the first time I was ecstatic, cause the first time you see him is him in the Mopar Muscle Truck.
I so enjoy this show series. Thank you, Derek and guests
Love these in the aisles you always have great guests and Steve is so knowledgeable on so many different types of vehicles.
Thanks for having Steve on he’s a very humble guy but very smart and he’s one of my favorites
The Alnico magnets on those old Jensen speakers make such a sweet and warm sound, total agreement there
My absolute favorite interview yet! Good job guys!
This was the best episode yet! Thank you so much for this series!
This was an excellent opportunity to get to know you guys better! Besides some of the silliness from your shows, this was more educational! Dulcich, I can't tell you how happy I am that you decided to go NASCAR on the Charger you got from Birdsong! From the 1st time it was introduced, it had circle track written all over it!! Derek, I've deemed you the Larry the Cable Guy of the gearhead crowd! Great stuff from both of you!!👍 Can't wait to see what's next!!
Absolutely love this! Two of my favorite car guys/personalities.
i love this guy! he's old school, down to earth & seems like a really nice guy!
one of the best of these shows so far, big fan of Steve. He is so knowledgeable yet so unassuming. Wish I knew a quarter of what he knows!
On the 400 in the 77 Trans Am, I believe it's like the other 400 Poncho's that have a water pump divider piece that can be rotted or missing. Either way, if it isn't diverting coolant behind the water pump, the engine developes hot areas and low block flow in spite of pump speed.
Also the gap between the plate and the impeller on the water pump needs to be as close as possible without rubbing. This helps improve cooling.
Yup this. Guys forget to put that plate back in there all the time.
I loved this episode. Oaky, I love all the episodes. Keep giving me more.
So much knowledge inside two heads. Helping folks out with their auto problems could be a whole new show idea.
Steve reminds me of my 76 old brother who wrenched on cars, truck but mostly big trucks. Blessed to sit on the fender and learn from a master
This such a great conversation. A hidden gem!
Love these! The Dulcich is the GOAT!!
Love the Dulcich!!! Such a genuine guy amd way smarter than he lets off. Would love to see a colab of these two fellers..
Dulcich is the best. He's like a librarian of car wisdom!
It was awesome listening (and watching) you 2 guys giving out that technical advice.
Man i’ve learned so much off these two guys
these 2 together is the best
Thank you for the input on my cam, springs and whatnot for my 88 Dodge build! And thank you both for teaching so many of us.
Great stories!!! Thanks guys.
Love Steve. I remember reading his articles in m MOPAR magazines back in the day. Great MOPAR knowledge.
Dulchek is a legend thanks for this
Best one yet!!!
Good show I think Dulcich is the best wish he did more love to watch him
Pretty cool you have the bang shifting master himself to help on Vanishing Paint, first time I have heard any of his back ground in the industry.
Awesome thanks again for another great video !!! Love all the advice great content 😁
Hi Derek and Steve! Love your shows thanks for delving into Steve's background. Very interesting. Love hearing about the cars you have had. Funny Steve and I share some of the same car histories. My very first car was a 1962 Sunbeam Alpine!!!! I love catching glimpses of it in the intros to Roadkill Garage! I also had a 1970 Challenger convertible I restored and built a 340 for(my one and only engine rebuild and install). That when I realized how simple the old Dodge cars were. I had traded a 1974 Diesel Mercedes 240D I got from my grandmother when she stopped driving it. That car taught me how the Germans lost the war! Speaking of 1950's cars we had a 1953 Packard Caribbean convertible that was a total hoot too. When I got back from school I looked around for a mid year Corvette as I knew they were going to only get more expensive and found a 1966 327 Conv with a 4 speed and sidepipes that I still have 33 years later. I have an over heat issue that Im going to look into the timing as you have mentioned as well as a water pump. It has a BeCool Al radiator but will go to 220 degs other then that runs great. Keep up the great work guys ! Just give us more shows!!!! I loved how Derek would find cars far from his place and get dropped of with tools some parts and gopros and make a show! Crazy stuff. Loved it.
PS The reason for Steves popularity he is like the "DUDE" Big Lobowski style and very Ernest with a crap load of automotive knowledge and history. He just knows it!!!! Guru style.
Dulcich is my Moparian Mentor! He seems like such a genuinely nice guy.
WOW my 2 favorite people on Motortrend Network both on the same show!!!!! Great job as always Derek. Thanks for being on the show Dulcich, I love the Roadkill Garage shows when they are from your garage.
Dulcich is the best - Always get a kick out of that guy! A true classic and a hidden icon from the generation of automotive Heathens!
The 2 goofiest guys sitting at the same table… this is going to be epic!
I remember that Road Kill where we first saw Dulcich. I remember thinking this guy is a wild man, I like him.
Happy for all of his success.
2 Absolute legends!
DULCICH RULES! My favorite character on motortrend, Lucky is a close second, not enough Mopars.
VGG + ROADKILL = OUTSTANDING!! Please Carry on
Derek, yet another great interview! Thanks!
Awesome, love Dulcich and Derek!😊
Dulcich is so cool. This was great. I could listen to Dulcich tell tales for hours.
