- You never know what-or who-you’ll run into in the aisles. In this episode, Derek talks to Jacob from the CZcams channel Puddin’s Fab Shop. Hear Jacob discuss his journey from jet engine mechanic to “I wasn’t cut out for customer service.” He talks about his work on Datsuns, box trucks and Internationals, his dream of owning a ’64 Impala Wagon, and his lying under a truck in a flash flood, bench-pressing a transmission into place. At which point, Derek and Jacob agree: wrenching in the rain is the worst.

These are the 2 automotive guys I watch most consistently because no matter what they're doing it's all entertaining and fun to watch. I love these guys attitude on what they do more than anything. I have absolutely no talent or real interest in doing automotive things so it seems weird to me that I love watching what they're doing but I think it's more that they do what they do in an fun way more than anything.

Derek helped me get over my fear of messing up my car if I work on it, and here comes Puddin' the most stand up dude out there who motivates me to be a better father, worker, heck just a better person in general. These guys are my fuel each week to keep crushing life. Right now I'm a 38 year old with two jobs and just enrolled in college and I'm going to crush it like a Towrolla with mud tires.

I'm so happy to see these fellas got along and had a great chat, when Puddin mentioned he had a talk with Derek at the track a few months ago, he seemed dour and a little angry. But I'm certain that was mostly due to him being tired and outta sorts from all the fans and meetings. This was a great chat. Fist bumps from Canada

Being from Oklahoma I'm a huge fan of Puddin and his channel. I have also been a huge fan of VGG so to see this video made my day! Derek and Jacob, Keep doing what you do and inspiring not only people like me but the younger generations! Maybe one day I will get to meet you guys!

Great to see Puddin and Derek together...when you started talking about wrenching in weather, I immediately thought of Syracuse winter of '76 (I think). Had my '65 Dodge Polara 500 Sport parked behind a fraternity (yeah, I know, but don't start with me). Got it for free, it needed multiple freeze-out plugs, and everyone had already left for winter break, so there was nobody to help me. Said "I got this shot", crawled under her and made it happen. Started snowing just as I started, and by the time I was finished, the snow was about 15" deep, and I literally had to dig myself out from under the car! That was fun....

Up here in Alaska the long winter days go by more quickly if I’m either working on one of my 50+ cars or watching these you tube adventures.
