    I am afraid of her...you imagine that kind of an intelligent female classmate that you long for but can never gather the courage to tell her and you have a feeling she can read right through your mind

    This interview is such a wasted opportunity. 90% of the „conversation“ is the host telling the author what her books are about or what British newspapers have said about her.
    It is particularly jarring that he insists on reading excerpts from her book, stumbling and mispronouncing words with which he is not familiar which spoils the impact of the passage when he has someone there who not only can pronounce these words and names perfectly but passionately knows and understands them, when by his own admission, he had only read the story that morning since the ending caused him to postpone his breakfast that morning.
    Ngoni Adichie is one of the most articulate voices on this issues in her books and it is a total waste to not listen to that voice when you have the opportunity.

      Completely agree. She has a lot to say and her intelligence and grace are paired with great beauty.
