I remember that you need only one water sieve and a couple of water storages connected in a loop in a room filled with chlorine to kill the germs you can also add some automation to it to only release it back into your clean water system if it no longer detects any germs in the water
sterile room just means its clear from bacteria,viruses and parasites not decay 15:24
He prob thought as no bacteria/parasites means there are no reason for decay to occur
the sterile atmosphere effect increases the shelf life of the food, and years ago used to stop it from spoiling completely. He probably remembers it from that...
A recently added feature, that existed as a mod before, is the ability to disconnect pipes and wires of all kinds. The "disconnect tool" is the scissor/pliers icon to the right of the sickle icon. Very useful when you need to mess with pipes or wires and don't want to spill water or whatever all over your base.
The tool works for all pipes and wires; liquid pipe, gas pipe, power wire and automation wire

Btw here is a tip to make your water germ annihilation system better and efficient
Under the reservoirs you can make a sensor (like the atmo sensor but for water) and set it to check the water for germs, so if the water still has germs you can make a pipe back to the start of the system to transport the water back to the start until it is clean then when it is germ free you can connect the pipe to the main stream to send it back to the tank

Each one of your sieves can process half a pipe of polluted water at a time, so it's stalling because you're putting two full pipes into one essentially

compost in refinement menu to make polluted dirt to normal dirt
With this Knowlege you can use two ways to get rid of Puluted Oxigen too.
1. Get puffs they eat puluted oxigen and produce Slime. Slime can transform in Alge what Feeds Pacu who made puluted Dirt.
or
2. get Poke shells they eat Dirt and make Sand what you can use for Deodorizers.

One weird thing I've noticed about power generators is they only intake resources if they are enabled. Keep that in mind when using automation with power generators.
Another tip: A very good way to deal with germs is Radiation. You dont need much, just a little bit. A shinebug should be enough or two for a larger area.
To make dirt blocks... Build a mechanical airlock door with tiles on all sides but top. Deconstruct the door. Put pip in room with seed to plant. Hope this helps!

I love the mod that makes items the color of the item they are made off. So, things made with gold are gold, and copper is copper. It's a neat mod.
My solution to polluted water. I send the polluted water to a series of water tanks in chlorine. Then to filter, then to a clean water tank. When clean water tank empties, it sends water from one set of polluted tanks to the filters til clean tank is full, then shuts off.
I really like these videos! I’m usually not interested in colony games and wouldn’t take the time to watch gameplay of this from start to finish, but I find these videos interesting and fun.
Another thing: do you remember Planet Crafter? They are fully released now with a recent 1.0 update, and it has some new stuff; I thought you might have fun with it :)
Blitz my main man. Dont forget to use your tools. theres the Clipping tool to help manage your pipes wires and vents. it disconnects them from one another. woulda helped the Plumming oops at 13 mins in ish. Hope your having fun playing. got me playing it again as well. i fear the heat

Not sure if it's already been mentioned - you can use the snipping tool if you need to quickly stop power/water/gas - until you have automation :)

Not sure if you caught this later on, but @08:00 you used 1000W cable instead of 2kW (2000W) cable, thinking it was more, just want to help prevent that oopsie in future 😉❤
There are methods to make dirt, but it's kinda complicated, but then you can use pips to plant natural plants for you!
Easiest way to get a plantable block is with a mechanical airlock. Place tiles around all sides but top and deconstruct the door. You will get a plantable block of what ever metal you made the door from.
I like how Blitz refuses to use the disconnect button and just deletes everything
5:10 you can put down / makes natural tiles by building a manual airlock door ( like a U shape with door in the middle ) and surround it with regular tiles then deconstruct the door
After that ,lock a pips in with any seeds then wait for the pips to plant the seed to get a natural plant

To save some power, put timer sensors on ur egg incubators so they only drain power long enough to get the lullaby buff. Also you might want to make a power control station. For the cost of a tiny bit of metal, they apply a 30% buff to the power output of generators.
Another way to clean that germy water is using Wheezeworts with the Radiation. ! Great Video :)
Something I have done a year ago is I made a steam system for water then had the waist water at the bottom and had the natural heat steam that and I made a chamber with a lip, cooling a bit of the way in and deodorizer plants and it trap clean ish water in my water well.
If you drop algae on the gram (can be small amounts) and heat it up to 125deg C, you get natural dirt tiles
You can then use pips to plant on it

for food not decaying, you need to lower its temperature to Deep Freeze it by using Frigde or make a freezing room.
to kill bacteria in food, you can just cook it. Cheer~
If you put a single storage unit down, have the dupes bring everything to it, then just empty it whenever it's full you can store everything on a single tile
You can destroy all of your storage chest and put two auto dispensers on a tile and it will put every material on one tile if it is swept
Build the rock crusher for refined metal as opposed to the super hot steel machine
It looks chaotic, but it's definitely further along than I've ever gotten lol
In my experience, it's best to use the food poisoning water in the base game for farms since it doesn't translate to the plants.
Then building a cooling situation for the hotter water.
I'd tame that hydrogen geyser because power is gonna be a quick issue.
Then feed some poke shells your polluted dirt (remember some filtration setup because they'll off gas polluted dirt) for their shells, use the crusher to get lime then you can make steel for aqua tuners.
Any excess polluted water pump into reed fibers for exo suits.
Also please please please put some hand wash stations around. Out of the black water tank, and into a kitchen are a must. I also like to put one leading into a mess hall cause dupes are like toddlers.
Yeah, would be better and more efficient if you use the Rock Crusher under Refinements as your go to R-Metal producer in early game. Half of its product will be sand tho, but it requires only 120(?)W and manual Dupe punching power 🥊. Only use the MR when you're mid-game and planning on building an industrial sauna or such

You can dig two large tanks like this for clean water, only for polluted water, and a large room for water purification, and add another floor for the clean water tank, in case you can purify a lot of water and use all of it, not just up to that tank level

Get Pliers fixed mod , so you can disconnect wire and pipe without problems , both permanent and just for a moment
i am on day 500+ and here is some basic and usefull hints (i will ad more if i do not forget )
1-dont use storege for every thing it causes duplicants to not do what you say because of the unnecessary work from storing alsu they might bing hot things araund that will cause heating of your base
2-dig araund to find out. Look for cold geysers for cooling the hot steam went and also heating geyser water. NOTE purify geyser water after heating the water over 10 degrees (use outomation)(i am writing while watching so some of this can be you done-it already)
3- i do not recommend useing carbonskimer i usualy just packed carbon in gass packager
4-keep nature reserves for moral
5- dont get more than 10 dupes i use 9 and it is still more than enough
6-find a different way to generate oxygen (electrolysis)
7-there i not need to incubator for eggs to hatch
8-dont use that much coal generators your coal might end
9-oxygen not included! check your algea amount
10 water sives dont remove germs
11 store the water you sieve in storage then cut off new water intake wait for it to be germles than put it in the general water storage
12 use radiation lamp to desenfect whith radiation (dont over use it water can become radiation waste)
13 make toilets a closed system whit sieves .only put an escape for extra water prodused by toilets.
14 be careful for slimelung it can be game ender.
15 firepoles are great for more efficient duplicant movement
16 this is optional but I highly recomend usein airlock door mode it is great [the blue one that is big] it is very balanced and it just makes life easier

You have a few comments about getting rid of food poisoning first it only matters in food so dont make mush bars and you will be fine you can also try getting a sanipinch its a crab thing bred in fresh water you can also try getting the polluted water really cold
You should create your fart crusher to get rid of some of that extra polluted oxygen
rather than use polluted water from the toilets, its better to use polluted waters on outside, its free of germs mostly.
Don't tell him, that one pump can only deliver polluted water to 2 water sieves (refinement think).
Food needs to be stored at -18 degrees to stop rotting.

Why there is no water filters in the game so you can make two storages one for water and one for pee like how you do but because the water filter you will make infinity supplies of water because they drink water they go to pee the water filter it you have clean water they drink it so they pee and you make infinity supplies of water
What do you think the water sieve are if not water filters? And you are basically just describing the water exploit in this game, toilets produce more water then they use.
