Having only one worker to figure out all the game systems, plan my strategy and complete the challenge was a huge undertaking, but with 3000 cycles spent before I could declare victory there were plenty of shocks, surprises and amazing moments along the way. ABOUT THIS GAME
In the space-colony simulation game Oxygen Not Included you'll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It's Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air or harness the natural processes of wild creatures for food. If you're clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate in them!

This summary was AMAZING! I loved watching the entire ONI series (all of them). Your ONI content is my single "addiction channel" content on CZcams for over a year now. You upload = I watch. Your editing and production style is something I don't think I could do myself, which is a huge part of what makes me coming back. You're intentional, concise, obsessive, procedural... yet the episodes still manage to retain a layer of exploration, mistakes, learnings, pivoting, reaction... and you still manage to bundle it up so effortlessly (but I can see the countless hours of work that would go unseen by the consuming audience). It was a great experience to watch this challenge series. Because you can only use one duplicant, Nathan created a series of ultimate automation tutorials. You will find very inspiring and brilliant ideas and situational awareness. If you like to watch pro gamers this one is for you.

I'm still catching up on the series, but I love the recap at the end of it! The 'ah, I wasted so much time' and 'I may have had to rebuild this a few times' were hilarious to watch in real time in the series.

Awesome video! A new series idea could be some a series with a focus on the duplicants wants more needs(think awesome luxury aprtments but outhouses) and make updates like this with a story told from the duplicants perspective

You could probably do anything with just one dope, if you have the patience I mean. One dupe doesn’t take up much resource to maintain. Will probably take forever to get anything done though. You should do a challenge where you always have to choose a dupe, when the printing pod cools down.

i started playing 5 days ago, got already 67h and are on my 4th try that is the furthest. you made that in the first 5 minutes of the video xD
glad i found you and your series is helping me out quite good but i got a few problems since english isnt my first language.
i would appreciate a few tips for example:
why are you using that many electrical doors?
why are you filling out the space with the pipes like playing snake? 19:30
what are the metal plates for?
anyway, its awesome what you have done and keep up the good work. i will just follow :)
Hey;) The mechanised doors won't allow any gases from flowing through when they are closed, contrary to the normal doors. I fill up the space with pipes either for cooling/heating up the liquid inside more efficiently or to have more liquid capacity in that space. The metal plates (drywall) is used to avoid gases from escaping into the vacuum behind or simply for decorating. Hope this helps;)

Really cool! But personally, I would change out the mod that just tints the buildings based on the material for the true tiles mod by aki, which completely changes the look of them and looks awesome =)

18:32 are you using special materials for this. I'm still trying to tame a minor volcano and collect all it's igneous extrusion and i've had to crack it open multiple times because the steel autosweeper keeps overheating despite TWO turbines. Not sure how you're even doing this with 1 turbine as that failed for me everytime.
Just steel is enough for the aqua tuner. Try having more steam inside the room, this might help.
Whats the name of the mod that shows skill/stat growth?
I really don't get why people mix all liquids like that in the first place.
Also, don't get using liquid tanks for storage. They hold next to nothing. I'm only using them for certain things like chlorine setups, to cool water in the same(ish) kind of loop with wheezeworts and other automation needs.
I started storing Pwater from a geyser in tanks, built like 8 of them and quickly realized that it wasn't enough to store the water coming out of it. Then was just like, "Bah, this is now my Pacu pond!" and dumped it all in a big pool. They don't care about the food poisoning.
I am always stuck with cycle 100 and there is so much things I still dont know

Just a couple of years.
Now do the revearse very chance you get to obtain a new person you take it. One way to play is to slowly get new people and reject the first few people. Now would your town be able to survive if people keep flooding in
Mabe you can play another challange? Something like "use only never used things" i mean who grow Waterweed? Or some useless types of creatures or mabe they are not usles until you put enough effort in to that to make it work, for example... Waterweed need bleach stone so you need chlorine Gass and some creature who convert that i to bleach stone, you can use for that chlorine vent... You also need salt water so use some vents for that.
I think this over complicated infinite loops are great, but I'm too lazy to make them in my game ;p
