- Nothing takes you back to your childhood more as a koala carer than when a koala falls asleep in your arms after their bottle. It takes you back to when you used to cuddle your Teddy. Maybe that's why koalas are so special to so many people. Interestingly, sometimes koalas sleep with their eyes open - well sort of. They have a third eyelid (called a nictitating membrane) which is translucent and enables the eye to be protected and moistened while maintaining vision. Particularly useful when there's so many sticks around that might poke you in the eye. Benny often sleeps with his eyes open. However his snoring gives away that he's in the land of dreams .....

The koalas are so beautiful and precious it breaks my heart to think of how many precious animals have perished due to the wild fires. I pray they are at peace GOD bless them all.

She Love's her life and her bottle's of milk her blanket and soft lap to sleep on and all koala's love there belly rubs if any koala needed to stay in a sanctuary it's this baby she's not tuff enough to live in the bush she would have a short life of terror ..

Little fella is thinking what the hell going back to the wild I ain't leaving ever, water, all the gum leaves I can eat and when I want a nap my hooman mom cuddles and belly rubs me and when I wake up I get milk. I hate the bush..
Much as I admire this person for taking the koala in (for whatever reason), I do wish people would LEAVE THEM ALONE when they're sleeping!!! What is it about people who, immediately an animal (cat, dog, koala - whatever it is) is sleeping soundly, they have to PROD IT, POKE IT or PLAY AROUND WITH IT'S LEG, ARM OR WHATEVER??? Just leave the ruddy animal to sleep peacefully and film if you have to. Grrrrrrr.
So what you're saying is that if people move to Australia and adopt a koala, they might suffer these consequences? 😊

Koalas are very beautiful and precious. They have been through hell because of those fires. They should never be re released back into the wild. I know that they have to be. It's getting to dangerous for them and all the wildlife. I can't believe that so many animals perished in those fires. People losing everything they own. Drought or human whatever the cause. This has to stop. No one deserves this happening to them.
The logging industry is mass killing koalas and the gov. does nothing it's been an open secret for yrs.
