- REUPLOADED DUE TO HD VERSION NOT WORKING FIRST TIME! I've just bought a new mountain bike - stay tuned to the end of the video I will reveal what I bought!! While I was researching what to buy I was amazed at how many categories of MTB we now have! So in this video I look at all the different styles of MTB Canyon make and compare them, 29 inch and 27.5 inch wheels - I have a look at the different geometries and overlay each bike to see what the differences are.

what an absolutely fantastic video.
canyon should post this video on their website under each of their MTBs so people can know quickly which one they want.
you basically sort it all out for us instead of making us look at each bike and figuring it out ourselves.
Thanks mate
Damn, you Really managed to make such an informative and technical video Very entertaining great job!
Great video! Just needed that to see what’s what with the Canyon MTB line up.. Super grateful for this!…. Meanwhile Canyon to ruin your lovely work and to give us more grief they now also added a Spectral 125, which sits in between all the in betweeners 😂😂
Love to see more mountainbike (hardtail) comparisons. Keep up the good work and nice to see you are back on track.
Great looking bike your Vitus.
edit: Also curious about gravel bike comparisons.
Recently took delivery of Canyon LUX Trail CF7 in Alps-Grey, full XT group set, Fox dropper post, Fox rear shock & Fox SC 34 forks + DT SWISS XRC1700 Carbon wheel set £4300..Having owned bikes such as Santa Cruz Blur, BMC Team elite 1 among others I can safely say this is 1of the nicest bikes totally complying + fast…Thanks for your video very informative 😎
Gear range is calculated really easily: biggest gear : smallest gear x 100 = range in %
For example the Shimano SLX: 51 : 10 x 100 = 510% range. Another one, the GX Eagle: 52 : 10 x 100 = 520% range.
I love how you make a video comparing the bikes against each other and not knowing this.
Maybe use that in your next "how do bike gears work" video.
Thank you for this excellent comparison.
I own a 2020 Commencal Meta TR 29 and had considered buying a new one to ship to a new location where we vacation for longer periods (work on-line).
However, I have not been happy where the Commencal has been going in it's geometry, and the "new" place has more flat areas.
Your presentation helped me see why I keep coming back to Canyon's Neuron.
Thank you again. :)
I just got myself a spectral 125 al-6
Spec'd out pretty damn good for 2,200
A lot of work you made in this video. Great job and thx. I'm looking after trail bike with XC characteristic. As well looked at Vitus, but.. my 170cm do not fit perfectly into Vitus frames. Waiting for Neuron 7 in stock :)
Great video as you can see the geometry fully
Interesting comparisons
Great video, always cool to see how you find an angle to add to the video..
Downcountry is a beefed up Cross country. More geared towards XC instead of Trail.
What I’ve come to understand with Canyon bikes is that unless the name of the bike has the size of the wheels in the name it’s a 27.5.
Lux trail with riser bars will make it almost the neuron.
Great video!
A video about value Hardtails would be a dream!
I'm 6'5" will it be too small?
should I get the Neuron cf 7 or spectral 27.5? if the center of gravity is the same between them and weight about the same they should be equally capable at climb and decend angles.
Neruon is faster, ligher and climb better as I heard. Plus lower sus (140/130)
5:24 I saw rear shock laying down like this and for some reason, I feel this set up soaks up the bumps more smoothly compared to the Horizontal rear shock set up. Am I Wrong?
I see this as an intresting third stallion...first two being road and tt bike... I really don't understand concept of cyclocross or gravel bike
.. but I will have true MTB one day for sure...for fun...for travel in obscure and adventure :)
sir Bikotic does this mean you'll no longer abandon your devoted followers and upload on a regular basis?
8:49 The gear range is quite simply calculated by multiplying the lowest and highest gear (i.e. 10x51=510%).
*only if it's 1x and the smallest cog is 10
You might want to censor the box shot at 0:17
i doubt anyone looking at a video like this cares where he lives haha
Nice tires on such a cheap bike... Maybe there's a hose somewhere near your trailhead?
