An atmosphere like this is what all super rugby matches deserve
💯
Lovely scenic backdrop too
awesome atmosphere! My first rugby match in Fiji and it didn’t disappoint!
Glad you had a great time 💯🙏🏾👊🏾
Where were u sitting? We were in concrete grandstand.. heat was epic, but what an atmosphere
Is it me or am I the only one thats happy that the super rugby competition is being played in the islands and they get to enjoy the level of rugby that we here in New Zealand have been enjoying for years. I believe that everyone wins here :)
It does go back to humble beginnings in the late 1980s to mid-1990s when the comp used to be called the South Pacific Championship before eventually becoming Super Rugby in the professional era.
That disallowed Masi try could have been in the top 5 weeks try list.
It should have been. No idea what Ben O'Keefe (ironically, an eye doctor) saw there
Yes such a shame, brining them back to give the Fijians a scrum? Just give the try you big hamster 😂
They need a disallowed try of the year category!
🤣
@@rico3200 So they had advantage, ironic and unlucky for that try to be waived when it should've played on just for pride
These Fiji home games are brilliant
Utmost respect for the Blues in fielding their first team, which was crucial for them 💯👊🏾
Blues definitely came to play with their ABs players in tow unlike the Crusaders, well done to them on withstanding the heat but unlucky for the Drua on that last try for some pride despite having chances to take the lead.
The DJ must really love that song in the first half lol. Good game. Enjoy the Fijian hospitality nd kava Blues😊💙
I reckon I'd feel sorry for the Fijian lads playing in Dunedin on a bitter cold day. So well done to our boys playing in the heat and humidity. Great atmosphere too.
The scores within that half hour in the first half really reflected the effect of the climate on both teams. The blues demonstrated the ability to adapt and focus on how to win a game in such situations. It should be used as a measure of performing well under stressful environments in rugby don't you think?
@@eliteconvintagerugbyreviva2065 this can actually help oz and all blacks team be better and work harder especially during international selection helping them work hard for the win when the world cup is coming up
Never seen a game where both sets of players look so tired, must have been pretty hot.
It's too hot 🥵🥵
my fijian friends say that’s the hottest part of Fiji
Bro even I'm fijian and I can't stand the heat in lautoka
@@nobodyspecial8565 in lautoka if U go outside ur house at 12 sharp midday U burn to dust...the heat is immense n cruel...
I wonder why NZ teams agree to play in the midday heat. Kills rugby.
It would be awesome if we can start hosting games at night here in Fiji. It would be epic like when Chiefs vs Crusaders and Chiefs vs Highlanders in 2017 and 2018.
Drua was outsmarted by Barrett..kicking behind their defence..Blues grinded the Drua down..and just played smart rugby..
Rieko ascending to the absolute pinnacle of his powers. Brutal first try from him. Great win for Blues. Man, the last time I remember seeing men worn-out by heat and humidity like that, was when we waited for the cage on 420 fthm level Robinson's Shaft South Wheal Crofty. We called it, 'earnin yer pasty th'ard way'.
Yeah all he needs to do now is learn to pass.....
Good game. Loved the pre match Haka. Nice one Blues. When the Drua start playing like that away from home they will be a real threat.
Just in those moments where the intensity of the Drua defence clocks off with weak or mistackkes and teams score what looks like easy tries against them. If Drua come with an intense 80min defence they'll be a much better team, their attack is already up there with the top teams.
Lautoka Is the best place for Super Rugby matches for Team Fijian Drua n Super Rugby fans. Awesome atmosphere. I've never missed any Fijian Drua game at Churchill Park, Lautoka. I'm a big fan of NZ Super Rugby teams. Big fan of Crusaders n Blues. I feel blessed to have watched these 2 teams n also Chiefs in action @ Churchill Park, Lautoka. I urge all you awesome Super Rugby fans to come n enjoy with us.
We flew over from Auckland… was most amazing atmosphere we’ve experienced anywhere… beats Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Chch, Dunedin, Wellington and even Auckland
We will be back for sure for Blues v Drua games
@@wearebluessupporters4lifet424 thank u so much friend. Your comment is really kind n heart touching. I have two wishes of my life, first one was to watch my 2 favourite teams (Blues n Crusaders) live with my own eyes n it has been fulfilled. Second wish was to ask one of the players of both teams for one of their jerseys each as souvenirs, which was sadly not fulfilled. But I wish n hope that one day it will. God bless u n ur family. Vinakavakalevu friend. Please do meet me in the next Blues n Drua match in Lautoka.
Crowd and turnout in the last 3 home games had been amazing. Celebrating rugby ..
Anyone else feel that the highlights video is almost all just action within 10m of the tryline? Suggestion: Rather than 3 views of try scoring, how about including some of the clever play that got the team into such a strong attacking position?
Oh no. I'd much prefer 3 different replays of a pushover try...🙄
Drua proves that they can play 80minutes rugby. Well done. Looking forward to next weeks game
2:46 see how fast the Ferris wheel is spinning!
I wonder what the h&s man has to say bout that 😂
Geez! Good spot!
Maybe people were trying to get a cool breeze?
If only the other games have half the turnout of the Drua games. Sad to see a quality competition dogged by low attendances
No frills game by the Blues .. they won and well played the Drua
Great crowd!!
The Drua are a force to be Reckoned with, amazing.
Why isn't there NZ commentary?
Because Greg Clarke and Sam Wykes are the official Drua commentators for their home games
@@Samizouza oh wow !? Thanks mate
what was the disallowed try for..that try was pretty legit..wtf
whistle gone 5:32 they the fijian players never heard it and played it on amongst themselves. notice the ref wasnt jogging with them on the passage of play leading to the disallowed try.
Ref run along for a few seconds and stopped.I think that should've been a free play for Fiji drua because that ball was knocked on by blues if it was something else he wouldn't have give a scrum to Fijian Drua
@@kb8796 too bad he blew the whistle as he sees it. its a knock on and scrum to Drua
@@billbolt3115 yes but why did he call them back.. he was playing advantage shouldve left them
@@juniorsewbs7593 well the ref never gave advantage in these case allow the continous play, he sees it as he call it. before they could start pass from deep within, he blew the whistle and went back to the original infringement knock on Blue - Drua scrum feed
The difference in crowd numbers between Fiji and Samoa is huge. Moana Pasikia mud
Fiji does have a bigger population.
Winning will fix that
Great to see rugby played in exotic nations
Blues playing against 16, Drua and the Fijian sun. Brutal!
It’s hot in fiji I’m surprised the players handled the heat for 80 minutes
Was got enough sitting in stands a few players I spoke to after at hotel were absolutely wrecked.. Zarn Sullivan said hardest game he’s ever played
The heat is no joke…..
Anyone can play in a cold weather…..
Must be humid hot!?
Vinaka Drua.. Congratulation Blues
Just watched the highlights did anyone else think that reff was awful.
All is left for drua is lineouts, and smart rugby
Telea is a really hard winger to tackle. So elusive
what a great atmosphere.
Camera quality really bad this week
It’s in Fiji..
@@christiantasidailyeah of course its gonna be bad (no offensive)
That heat seemed brutal.
This game should have been played at night rather than in the heat.
It was nuts.. and we were in concrete stand in the Shade (sort of )
Need to fly out some crispy 4K broadcasting cameras to Fiji
That's basically the minor thing left for quality TV 😁
Yes, we Fijians still uses the 80s or 90s quality. Hope for a new 4k ones.
These Fijian sides improving they come to play doing a load a good for international side
This is one of the game where size matters. You can see how the Blues forwards pummel our Drua forwards. Just need some conditioning especially our forwards because the game against Hurricanes will be a little level above, since competing with jacklers like Savea, Kirifi, Lakai, Lomax, Coles and so on. All the best Drua boys for the coming weekend in Suva.
Now I would like to see Ireland or France play in that heat and come back with a result.
That is more than a workout playing in Fiji, really hard work. I have noticed Fiji Drua always seem to make a comeback last 15, good on them, well good side. Unlucky with not getting the try from their 22.
Ireland were keen on touring Fiji for three games two years ago if it wasn't for COVID.
The referee was playing long advantage, which was really killing the game😡
Trues up! Advantage was way too long!
Why was that disallowed try called back for a scrum?
💙💙💙
If it looked hot on a video, it must have been roasting on the pitch. Kudos to the players for providing a decent match in the heat. I bet they cut the grass in the morning and it grew back by kickoff. At least it was a soft surface for tackles and rucks. Better than the concrete you see in other facilities, or the artificial abomination that takes the skin off.
Drua was they own worst enemy..Blues play smart rugby..anyways lift up your game for new week march against the canes...I'm proud of the Drua team, it's only they 2nd season but they are giving good show against top quality team with quality players..
It's only my impression or the grass is very high in the Fiji field? It seems like players' boots are sinking in the grass
It's for comfort reasons cause of the hot weather. Cutting grass will sharpen it's edges. Not good for this kind of weather.
@@semilaqai8851 thank you!!
Physical challenge. Great fixture.
Drua for ever💪🇫🇯
Best no-try seen in years, what shame 😞
I love how they have Dario G banging out at deafening volumes at every break of play.
The DJ shouting Toso Drua Toso 😂 sorry mate not today..The Bluez in the house
Looks like the Blues arent playing open rugby but are grinding with pick and goes.
Can’t afford to play all out running rugby in this heat. They’d easily lose their support players who can’t keep up..
Can't afford to play open, especially in the midday heat in the west side of Fiji. Drua did it and the heat caught them vice versa hence the homeground advantage.
Hi there, is there live broadcast for CRUSADERS VS CHIEF on theis channel at 9am today? only have this access available. Internet?
Were the curators on strike the last few weeks? That grass was farmstyle thick.
It's Fiji Biro. You can mow the grass one day and it is back like that tomorrow.
If it wasn't farm style thick everyone would have ended up in hospital with ugly bruises from the hard surface
@@stevendickson1972 yh, better this than ground-low turf like in Japan..
greatest spectator try of all time?
Great to see such a packed stadium. The NZ and Aus stadia look so empty.
Why was that last try disallowed
The ref was playing advantage i think.
The way he stuck his arm out looked like advantage dura
@@maxkelly5886 yh, that got me confused. Defo wasn’t advantage drua tho..
fiji what was with the tree in the crowd? is that the fijian version of you can't see me :D :D :D
that ball at 5:40 yewww, unlucky...
5:25 why disallowed
Rugby needs a ref who a neutral....unlike this ref in this game
Should've been an Aussie for obvious reasons
Blues good work. Stop throwing hospital passes
Best try that wasn't a try
WTF referee
What a horrible noise! We don’t need vuvuzelas in rugby
That why Fiji Home Game has the best crowd in Super Rugby✌️
Awesome game but geez la weez those horns were just to much to bare, want to hear the crowd not 1000 gas canister blow horns
Y was that try dissallowed
Look how long the grass is
The reason being, it helps keep the mositure in the turf or else, players from both sides will get bruises from the hard baked turf due to the extreme heat in Lautoka.
Ben o keefe was the referee he ruins the game of so many penalties when compare him with other refs. and that is almost every game he refs .ridiculous
The only problem with this sport (again) are refs! Without flow and continuity, this game will die! Who wants to watch scrums and rolling mauls all day long!
The Drua got bullied 😂😂
If only we can get one of the top 3nations play the national Fijian teams in Fiji...please All Blacks...or the wallabies...whichever one...its definitely gonna b a sellout
Ireland almost wanted to tour in 2021 and even make it a three test series, but sadly that "flu" cancelled it
FBC needs to invest in quality cameras...these ones look like they wer frm 10yrs ago..cumon..m sure they can get better cameras
The cameras sorely need to be updated but hopefully its a future investment that's sorely needed to be as crystal clear as Aussie and Kiwi TV cameras.
can we have a fijian ref for druas next match
The highest qualified ref we ever have is in 7s. In 15s you need to upgrade plus with experience.
@@emosijougavule2561 it was a joke since drua s game against either teams were controlled by refs from their unions
Only wished we kicked for those easy 3 points instead of locking horns with those more experienced forwards..
Sona
2 hands or not still a penalty because of overlap to
As a neutral I have to disagree. Player made a genuine effort to catch the ball and it went forwards from his hand; that is legit to me and should not be added to the huge list of penalties we already see every game.
@@Karma-qt4ji timestamp?
@@karlosdeevs the very last action of the game. Drua were calling for a deliberate knock on but Blues player (Telea?) jumped up and tried to catch the ball with two hands. As far as I am concerned he made a genuine effort to play the ball but knocked it on and that's not the same as a cheeky one hander where he had no hope of regathering. My opinion only, for what it's worth.
@@Karma-qt4ji yh, i feel for Telea was in a good position to regather had the ball not gone full blown areal..
the ref was doing this game, sucks!!
Looks hot 😅
Mai drua..vakadei NI macawa qo.
they could cut the grass a little more. very bad your ankles and knees to play in such grass.
No the reason being, to keep the moisture in the soil or else both sides will have bruises from hard baked turf due to extreme heat in Lautoka.
Wrong ref for this game
gee that Blues No. 2 had an ordinary game, I hope he is given time to reflect on this ... out of the team
😂
Drua fans excuses incoming !
RW hhhhbb
K vvm
If Drua had the advantage during the last disallowed try, then why did the ref blow his whistle when clearly advantage had been played?
If you look at the ref and the Drua player accelerating towards the Blues try line, it looks as if the ref didn’t want Drua to score.
The number 2 for blues butter fingers 😆 😂
Well I believe they put him at number 2 because he is playing in his childhood town, Lautoka, despite some average gameplay from him.
The ref decision is poor sadly it kills rugby
The video camera quality isn't great, eh?
Yes we still using the old ones.
Why is Clark there 4 he hasn't score any points for a while he should trying playing center like his father
When the fluke win against crusaders got to their heads lmao .
Blues players were tired ......... of scoring tries .
Even an under 19 kelston town boys team can beat the drua at this rate 🤣
Another keyboard warrior😂
@eroni vatuloka another person who can't accept the truth 🤣
Fluke or not ....Drua beat the mighty Crusaders! Lol
@@preacher_gone_rouge only keyboard warriors say they speak the truth
So on the table the win is recorded as a fluke? Haha funny boy...another good show by this pathetic referee 🤦 and Frank needs to be replaced asap
Lazy rugby by drua
betcha you’d play lazy too in this heat..
