My father served in the British Armed forces in Germany and he played for his regiment's rugby team along with several Fijians. They were amazing rugby players and massive personalities off field. My best friend was Fijian, we were in school together and he would support Wales during the then 5 nations and I'd return the compliment whenever Fiji were playing. Love watching Fijian rugby, fast, powerful and sublime ball handling skills. Go Drua!!

Hopefully get our act together when the world cup comes around and serve up a feast of running rugby when Wales and Fiji play regardless of the result. I remember world cup 2007 when Fiji knocked us out at the group stage. My heart was broken but it was and still is one the best rugby matches i have seen. It had everything, amazing tries, try saving tackles, you name it that game had it.
@@thomasdilworth7691 the few times Fiji and Wales play rugby both teams bring out the best in each other and sometimes out of scrappy untidy play brilliant pieces of play is produced that can't be coached.
I think france and ireland peaked too early, based on super rugby performances wallabies and all blacks look lethargic, the spring boks appear to be...well i dunno about the boks, anyway this appears to be an interesting world cup.

Originally i reckoned a single combined team, but as the comp has expanded these pacifika sides are bloody brilliant.

Yeah didn't even check with the tmo at least. This has happened a few times this year in Drua games. They were robbed against the Reds when one of their tries was clearly from a knock on and it wasn't even checked. They're like the NZ Warriors of Super Rugby.

Drua players that needs to be automatic selections for the Fiji Team is #4, #2 and the two flankers. Their workrate is unmatched everytime they play. We need this kind of consistent players. The rest of the Drua players should also be a threat to the overseas base players especially having the fitness to play 80minutes games. We don't need superstars, we need players who can play 80 minute games.
Masi is also a threat as he is very silky in slipping away from defenses. #11 as you can see comes from our local clubs and see how destructive snd hungry our local players are to represent their country. Please the world cup team needs the fitness of this Drua player's.

If kemu valentini can improve his play making skills he should make it to the national team as well. Due to him not missing conversions and penalty kicks, drua were able to take the lead. He is the best kicker that Fiji has

@@solomonilesikilau5746 Matawalu is too inexperienced. Frank Lomani is always going to be the first choice and he is playing good at the moment. Has good boot as well. to be first choice for Matawalu is not at the moment, but he is 100% need to be in the Fijian team at the moment. Be it as a backup or a starter. They are 3 spots for the halfback and he should be in the name.

I remember last year watching it on tv when they faced at Sky Stadium (Wellington), we got thrashed (67 - 5) and that one hurt bad because hurricanes didnt give us a chance at all, shoved it into us everytime they scored a try. From a Rugby League fan I have to say Drua are the only team that interest me in Super RU anymore. Even as a Rebels fan damn the Fijians bring some atmosphere and different style of play to the game. Respect to the fans, players & club. Best idea and Saviour to Pacific Rugby Union.

@@marknave8111 how? I’m Fijian and support the Drua. I’m just stating facts. If you think the scrum has come a long way then it shows you only watched the highlights and not the full game. They struggled to get the ball out most of the time because the Hurricanes were pushing them back so much.

The Drua have been an excellent addition to Super Rugby - and their crowds are fantastic, wish NZ crowds were half as animated.
I think NZ crowds are just bored because their teams win all the time...Australia teams, Moana and Drua need to start kicking ass just like the Brumbies team in the 90s to make people interested again IMO
great win drua.!! last year drua win only a game but this year has shown big improvement as they already win 4 game so far,they aim to reach the quarterfinal this year and i pray that favour will come in their way as they work their way up the ladder.

@@KernowekTim exactly. He is way better kicker than teti tela. Have no idea why they kept him on the bench the entire time. He was also the one that won the game against crusaders with his penalty kicks. Teti tela cost Fiji alot of point with his missed penalties and conversions in previous games. Teti tela is a good play maker but isn't a really good kicker.
