This is so beautiful 💕💕 I planted three peonies a few years ago and still waiting for them to flower. They weren’t planted too deep either.
Thank you! I’ve been planting and collecting peonies in couple years for both tree, herbaceous and Itoh peonies, for tree peonies you can plant deeply to encourage they develop their own root (tree peonies are usually grafted on herbaceous roots) and herbaceous, Itoh have to be planted not too deep(2” below the ground). Normally my peonies would bloom even one or two in the first year, the second year even have more flowers, by the third year they are pretty much beautiful and at least 5-6 flowers, but they are all depended on the roots quality when you are planting as well (the roots have to be big and at least have 3-5 eyes)

Glad you have couple Itoh peonies in your garden, this variety is hardy, easy to grow!

Much appreciated, in my garden some varieties age beautifully such as Rose Heart, Command Performance, Rosea Plena, Coral Sunset, Pink Hawaiian Coral, Hillary, Kopper Kettle, Scrumdiddlyumtitious, Theresa Anne, Coral Star….Actually there are a lot of peonies aging nicely. And the orange one at 10.43 is Lady of Shalott rose from DA roses

Absolutely, it worths the wait. I really admire your whole peony selection. They do bloom earlier than some of the roses.
@@lynelle183 thank you! Roses usually start blooming in beginning (or middle) of June in my climate, meanwhile I already had peonies in April, who doesn’t love that?! :). Anyway Merry Christmas and wish you have a great year ahead!
